Hi the feature is called HM Sync and it allows you to sync hands between 2 databases, right now its free for a couple of months but there will be a small yearly fee once it goes commercial. Unfortunately we wont have this service available with HM1 only HM2
Just tried HM2 really dont like it think i will have to stick with HM and try to move hh's manually.

Cheers anyway

What exactly is the disadvantages with sticking with HM1?

Seems to be the best option right now.

I will make sure we write this up as a feature request.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Is HM1 also running?

This is most likely an issue with your antivirus. Please add hmupdate.exe (exists only during the update process), holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncapps.exe, postgres.exe and pg_ctl.exe to your firewall and antivirus exceptions list.

Here is the direct download for the update:

The 'Postgres Server' is a local server, on your own machine. It is nothing that is shared.

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please try all the following steps - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...rt+PostgreSQL+

If you can, please try it for longer than just a few hours and you may find that you do indeed like it. If you installed the trial version you may as well kick the tires for 30 days. The differences are pretty significant so it takes some time to give it a fair test, IMO.

This FAQ page may help you in the transition - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rom+HM1+to+HM2

HM2 has tons of new features, stats, reports, sync, frequent updates, etc. Once you adjust to the new layout everything is easier to find and use. You can still use HM1 for 6 months after you upgrade to HM2 so you don't really gain much by not updating.

Thanks, solved.

HM Support, problems like this make for a really painful user experience. If you know about this stuff please try to warn us before we waste loads of time getting nowhere because of a known upgrade bug..........

fozzy71, I have a question for you. Before that , I wanted to say I'm gonna buy HM2
at the end of the year when I have more time. I'm sure that HM2 will be way better than HM1. Some people are complaining, but they don't understand how hard It is to create such a
deep program. They don't understand that you're still improving it every day.

Anyway, here's my question:
On HM1, in date filter selection, I can't find the request I want.
In august I played 50,000 hands at 0.05/0.10.
In september I played 50,000 hands at 0.05/0.10
In october I played 50,000 hands at 0.05/0.10.

I just want to see all the hands played in august and october.
The reason I don't want to see the september's hands is because I used a different strategy.
So, I'd only want to analyse all the hands played in august, and october, but I don't know how or if it is possible.

I am going to update to HEM 2 (hopefully tonight). I am still running on HEM 1.11.07a. I read somewhere that if I upgraded past this I would need to make a new database to take advantage of new stats and I didn't want to bother at the time. I have a day or two now and would like to make the upgrade..

What is the best way to do this? (don't care how long it takes). I am running postgresql 8.4. Should I update that to the new version while I'm doing this? I am on Windows XP.

Also if I happen to lose my database in the process it won't be the end of my world but I really don't want to lose my HUD, popups, settings, etc.. What files should I back up just in case?

ty very much in advance.

What site is this, you mentioned youve tried setting up preferred seating on HM2 but did you definetely set it up on the poker site? If so and your sure its setup on both then basically use trial and error, set it to seat 2, play 2-3 hands, if it doesnt line up try seat 3 and so on until it does match up but the information in seating prefs should let you know what is the correct seat in the pictures we supply.

Thats actually an unusual request and we dont have a solution for it at the moment, we have between and specific months but you cant filter out a month in between, you could analyze each month separately.

When you load HM2 the setup wizard should allow you to import your HM1 database and settings, this should cover the issues you mentioned above, no need to upgrade PostgreSQL unless your having issues with it. All settings will be untouched in HM1 unless your uninstall as there in a different folder and you can transfer your hud and popups from HM1 to HM2 during the process.

For HEM2, is there a displayed HUD stat for open raise by position? For example, MP open-raise %? I see Min-raise open raise as a stat but not general open-raise.

There is a certain villain who I have several thousand hands on in the HEM database, but every time I start playing with him, the only hands that show up in the HUD are the hands I've played with him at the table. He is the only villain that this happens with. I know if you double-click the stats, you can toggle back and forth between total hands and current hands. It doesn't matter how I toggle this guy, it always only shows current hands.

Look under RFI/Steal RFI="Raise First In" for those stats.

Can you get us a hand history file with this person in it and also just after playing with him please send your log.txt file from C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager folder. (XP users will find that in C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager folder.)
If you have extensions turned off then it may be just called log. Please email the log, directly after you have the issue and before you restart HM2, to hm2support@holdemmanager.com along with a link to the thread or a summary of the issue you’re having

In HM1 I could right click a HH and copy the raw file data to paste into a site like pokerhand.org or thehandconverter.com.

In HM2 when I try to export a hand to the clipboard, in plain text or whatever.. it no longer works (and is there no way to copy to clipboard from just right clicking the HH in the reports window, instead of having to view it? - the "copy" feature currently there does does not copy in the same format as HM1 and won't work with those sites above)

I installed HM2 last night and tried to import my database...for some reason it only imported about one week of hands then said the rest were duplicates or errors. I then tried to manually import and the same result. Can I just export my hands manually in HM1 and import in HM2? or is there a better solution? ty

After reading the faq on your website I still don't know which steps to take first.
My problem is that due to a power failure my windows partition couldn't be seen so i had to reinstall windows xp sp3(I had sp2 before)
My HEM and PostgreSQL 8.3 were on my secondary partition and only installed files in my user profile folder on my windows partition.
I had HEM2 beta in testing also and after failing to import once and reinstalling I managed to import my hands in another database.
Now how do I get back to a working HEM and PostgreSQL 8.3 without loosing my hands and databases?
My confusion is with PostgreSQL 8.3 mainly, should I also try to upgrade or not to another version ?

HM1 When playing I make a move based in stats which , filtered , have 5K hands
I mark this hand and in replayer I found 1.3K hands which other stats

What filters affect replayer ?

ok i clicked a hand history, then clicked on the hand viewer and when that popped up i choose 2+2 from the dropdown menu and it gave me a prompt that it was copied to clipboard, then im pasting it here, is this what your looking for and if its not working what version are you using or what format are you exporting:

    Merge, $0.25/$0.50 Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Preflop: Hero is MP with 3 K
4 folds, SB completes, BB checks

    Flop: (2 SB) 8 Q 4 (2 players)
    SB checks, BB checks

    Turn: (1 BB) 6 (2 players)
    SB checks, BB checks

    River: (1 BB) 9 (2 players)
SB checks, BB bets, SB folds

    Spoiler:
Results: 1 BB pot (0 BB rake)
    Final Board: 8 Q 4 6 9
SB mucked and lost (-0.5 BB net)
BB mucked and won 1 BB (0.5 BB net)

Thats solution would work however we have a couple of fixes coming for those issues, you could also email your database after backing it up in HM to hm2support@holdemmanager.com and well verify the issue is fixed

Ok just to clarify, do you have access to the original hands or just the PostgreSQL folder on the hard drive as it will need 2 different solutions.

HEM2, latest version as of today:
Hand replayer shows wrong "showdown" (graphic cards) board.
It usually takes several 4-20 hands for stats to correctly align themselves with correct player AFTER HERO HAS PLAYED 4-20 HANDS.
It usually takes several hands for stats to show up on new villians who sit down.
Thanks, ONCE AGAIN, for clobbering my HUD modification without warning.
Thanks, ONCE AGAIN, for renaming stats to something different.
You even messed up the default popup stats. Don't worry I fixed them, again.
After fixing my HUD (after playing 30+ hands), my stats at the table restart themselves, as if I just sat down and started playing.
After restarting HEM2 (a frequent occurance), my stats at the table restart themselves, as if I just say down and started playing.
