New version (not out yet) is smarter about trying to reinsert recently updated hands which is part of the problem here. It will skip any hands that it knows it recently inserted.

Another issue is the size of the file since right now I don't move files that are currently in use mainly to void corruption. The plan is to move them as they import so that the files stay small.

The last issue is with the number of errors - in you case it is about 0.75% which is pretty high. Still working on driving this number down closer to 0.

Do you know anything about fixxing my problem installing sql?

Hey thanks again for HM.
In the 'hands-more filters', how do I filter to only hands where on the Turn, I was IP and was check/raised, as well as hands where, on the Turn, and I was OP, and I bet out, and was raised? In other words, a filter that returns both of these. THANKS!
Can I do just this then: "filter to only hands where on the Turn, I was IP and was check/raised,"? Thanks.

Could you try using a different username besides the default? I'm at work so can't really look into it right now but if you still have troubles later send me an e-mail at tourneymgr@gmail.com and I'll look into it further.

Also, if you are using Vista make sure you disable UAC (user access control) from the control panel before installing.

In the version you have I don't believe the wascheckraised flag in the db is being updated. It is working in the new build though and available in the filters.

it's in the database but not available in the filter form in the old version. In a few more days you'll have valid "Was check raised" data per street and can filter with it.

It calls HU NL hands at Absolute "non-holdem hands" atm and won't import. These are only hands at the special HU tables. If you give me an email address I can send you some of the hands.

What I really would love to see in the HUD is some kind of context-sensitivity.

What I mean is that the HUD displays different stats depending on the players' position. E.g. the common stats like VP$IP, PFR, AF are displayed for all opponents. The players in the SB and BB additionally show their FoldsToSteal%, and the players on the button, CO and hijack show their AttToSteal%.

Is something like this technically possible? IMO this would be a great feature.

RVG,

If you hadn't noticed yet, Holdem Manager is getting quite the workout in BBV right now TY to FGators and his ~2mil hand histories of alleged coolers.

One feature I have been longing for that doesn't seem to be there, but maybe i'm just blind. Is there a way to filter by pots that are above or below a certain size in total? There's options for 'bet this many BB' and 'put this many BB into pot' on various streets, but there should be a non-street specific 'pot greater than', 'pot smaller than', 'pot equal to' set of options I think. Wouldn't be hard to implement?

We'll have to see about this - I think this might be crossing the line a bit and get me in trouble with some sites. Won't rule it out though until I get some feedback from the sites.

Nice! In the new build I just fixed up the graphs - no more exponential numbers and added grid lines now.

In the new build I keep track of pot sizes on every street (also keep effective stack pot ratios for each player on all streets) and that can be filtered on.

Hopefully be able to release the new build by Sunday night.

Sorry if this Q has been asked before, but this thread is way way way too long for me to filter through to get the answer. Plus it's a short Q.

Will there be a Stud Manager and Omaha Manager?

I see that it already converts these HH's to the database, but will not read them.....any outlook?

Hmmm - I've got close to a million hands to re-import they're already in the current version of HM). I've been datamining FTP for weeks now.

C'mon, Roy - the natives are getting restless. . .

Cheers, Carl.

I'm trying to get the tourney winnings piece done but it's taking longer than I hoped. I'll probably have to release this update without this piece being done (although you'll still have a record of all the tourneys you played in) and then release a patch that goes back and figures out all the winnings.

Not going to happen tonight though although hopefully the private beta group will be getting a final update (or at least close to it) tonight.

Wrapping up the "old HM version importer" piece as well so you can import right from the old DB

I installed HM this weekend and imported my Stars hands without incident or errors. Some really interesting features and I look forward to the final release.

But, after reboot, I can not connect to the database. The first error stats that HM cannot read data from the transport connection. Then the test connection dialog comes up and when I test the connection, it says that the connection was forcibly closed. I have the standardized logon and password.

I'm running XP, I've tried this without firewall and AV turned on to no avail. I added a service exception for postgres in the windows firewall just incase that was a problem but I played with the program for about 4 hours before turning it off last night so I doubt that was an issue.

So, I uninstalled HM and postgres, deleted the postgres directory after the uninstall so the existing database would be wiped (yes, I tried an install without wiping the directory first but that did not help.) I did a fresh install, reimported my meager amount of hands again and all worked well. When I rebooted I could not connect to the database again.

In the pg_hba.conf file I tried setting the method on local connections to trust from md5 but no joy there either.

The postgres site says that version 8.2 has addressed the issue of having to run the service on a nonadmin logon so I assume that my running it on an admin account is not the issue.

Any other ideas or suggestions gratefully accepted.

After rebooting can you try loading pgadmin and seeing if you can connect to the DB from that? I have a feeling that the service isn't restarting properly.

If it is not running then go into Control Panel - Administrative - Services and set Postgres to Start.
