I am sure this was suggested already, but here it goes again.

It will be a nice feature to include one sub tab where it shows you how much bankroll you need to have online based on the kelly criterion.
So basically, there will be a section where you put in risk of ruin %,the limit you are playing, and the stdv(of that limit) already calculated by HEM.
based on those, it just shows you how many BI or BB you need to have for such risk etc.

just a thought.
thanks

one noob question.
How do I check what hands I played on a certain position regardless of actions as long as I saw flops i guess? to see if i am making with a certain hand on a certain position.
I changed the Report Name to Position. It shows all the stats based on positions but not cards. not sure what to do afterwards.
It seems like it has nothing to do with Filter option.

I tried marking a certain position under Preflop Cards tab, but then i had to choose one of options under quick filters (eg. raise unopened, raise limpers etc)

sorry for a noob question...hehe

Reports > HoleCards > Filter > By Position, is one way to do it, if I understand you correctly. That will show u all the hands you played from that position. You can obviously filter a lot more precisely, based on actions, etc.

I posted this at the HEM site as well, but try this:

I've had this issue as well. Before starting HEM, make sure you delete all the files in C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Importing\HUD Data

This has always fixed the problem for me.

I use an AHK script to automatically do this (and then start up HEM):

Loop, %A_ProgramFiles%\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Importing\HUD Data\*.*, , 0 ; Recurse into subfolders.
{
FileDelete, %A_LoopFileLongPath%
}
Run, "C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\HoldemManager.exe"

I think HEM sometimes deletes the files there, but not always. They ought to just delete all the files whenever the HUD is started up IMO.

Hey Roy if you can add a feature to the HUD notes to allow the ability to maximize them to fit the whole screen and minimize as well as a scroll bar on the side I will be a happy man.

With the latest version, hmimport.exe is sucking 90% of my cpu resources. I'm datamining 18 ftp tables 24/7 with the import time set to 60 seconds. (With the default 5 seconds, it was getting behind).

hi,

when i tried to turn on HEM today, it wouldn't let me start the program cuz it says "server=127/0.0.1;port=5432;uid=postgres;pwd=postgrespass" then i hit ok, DB control panel has a pop up msg saying a connection to postgresSQL couldn't be made, would you like to have HEM attempt to start the service, i hit yes, and told me HEM has started the service, plz try again. what's wrong w/ my database? why can't it connect?

server name is and port number is 5432, what's wrong w/ it? it says server 127.0.0.1 can't be connected.

Try going to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

Look for PostgreSQL in the list, and make sure it is 'Started', if not, Right-Click > Start it, and try to use HM again.

Also try to reboot, especially if you havent rebooted recently.

Hi, my stats aren't showing in the replayer. Also, the portion at the top middle of the replayer to copy the hand history for posting etc doesn't show. Any suggestions?

I have version 1.05.07

Get version 1.05.08g.

Keep an eye on the HM forums (Releases Sub-Forum), if you are ever unsure. I believe he finally turned on the Auto-Update feature, so staying current wont be an issue in the future, IIRC.

okay, i tried what you said and...a window msg pops up and says...the postgreSQL db server 8.2 service has started but got shut down again. if we can't execute some service, it will auto shut down. for example: alert service or record.

Apparently beyond my limited knowledge.

Try a reboot, and try to launch HM first thing. If you still cant connect, you are prolly gonna want to have Roy help you. If he cant sort it out quickly, he can always connect remotely and get it working for you.

thx. hope Roy can help me on this one asap. it's pretty annoying, i can't play on 8 tables w/o any stats on my opponents.

I am sure that Roy can get you working in no time at all, using Teamviewer. He had to do something similar a few months back, after I started using HM. He had my HM working in 5-10 minutes while I sat back and watched. I know he has done it for others as well.

there is actually a word doc along with a zip drive containg a ton of filters that will anlayze every single aspect of your game and find leaks. It will be released soon.

"Last X Hours" Filter incorrect

I set the filter to 12 hours. Hands show from 2:15 to 16:53. (All from 6/2/08)

Looks like HM takes "Computer Time" and subtract 12 hours, the shows all hands for the last 12 hours using "poker time." ie. PokerStars HHs time, PS time off by 3 hours "Computer Time" in Arizona.

Just wanted to make a post regarding HUD performance.

I reverted back to 1.05.07 after the first .08 release, and haven't upgraded since b/c of the tone of the thread after .08 was released.

That being said, the real point of my post is that I want to confirm that using 1.05.07 I am now finally able to play more than 6 tbls and as many as 12 (haven't tried more) without performance issues at all. Here is my HUD layout:

I used to only be able to play with the HUD with 6 tables tiled on a 1920x1200 screen, and any time I would try to play more tables by cascading instead, the HUD would slow my games down and actions would take noticeably longer than usual.

I finally figured out a config that at least works for me, so those of you that were never able to massively multitable with 1.05.07 and earlier might wanna try what I do:

-make sure HH folders are empty at the beginning of session

-make sure the Holdem Manager\Importing\HUD Data is empty at the beginning of the session

-close and restart both HM & postgres if you have recently ran a report before starting a session

-set the priorities of your poker clients to high, and set their affinities to CPU 0

-set the priorities of all HM processes to above normal, leaving the affinities alone, and do this for any AHKs you run as well

-dont run any apps (firefox, aim, some antivirus/antispyware progs that you can feel comfortable disabling)

also fwiw when i run 12 tbls i cascade 3 and have 4 blocks of those if that makes sense

hope this all makes sense and helps

also let me know when its safe to upgrade
