If not, if I am unsure if I have all of my original HH from Ignition, is there a way to save the current HH from the newer version of HEM2 and import them into the older version of HEM2? This way, at least I have my results and would then have hole cards for future sessions.
A) If you still want to use 8079 when playing at Ignition and the latest version of HM2 when playing at your other site(s) you will want to install the 2 versions to 2 different folders. The easiest way to do this so you can keep your non-Ignition version updated with the latest releases is to update HM2 in the default folder then install 8079 to a custom path and create a 2nd desktop shortcut to point to that 2nd installation.
Please update to the latest beta version -
http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ger_2_Beta.exe
- After downloading, you should right-click the file, go to properties and click unblock.*
* If you do not see an 'unblock' option you can ignore this step.
- Then, right click the file and run as administrator.
Then download the 8079 installer -
http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...ager2Setup.exe
Install that to a custom path of your choosing, open the new installation folder's \Holdem Manager 2\ folder and right-click HoldemManager.exe > send to > 'Desktop (create shortcut)' option and rename the new desktop to something like 'HM2 8079'.
You will not be able to run both installations at the same time or play both sites at the same time.
B) I am not familiar with how the card catcher/converters work as I have never used them but HM2 will archive their hands where it archives all other hands and I would assume you can just manually import those hands to a separate database with HM2 version 8079 for reviewing previous hands, and future live play Ignition hands, with all hole cards. All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\MM\DD. It is configured in the Site Setup - Auto Import Folders menu.
If you need further help with the above I would suggest you ask their support or other users how to best do it in their support thread where I see you cross-posting these questions. They should be able to help you figure out the best way to do what you want with the converter and running multiple versions of, and databases for, HM2. It isn't something we really provide support for ourselves beyond the basic instructions I provided above since they are not a supported site.
