Have you configured auto import to know about the new folder?
What do you see in the import status window when you run auto import? Is is recognizing the files?
You do have 'move processed files to' enabled, don't you? (Tutorial - Preventing Duplicates).
Duplicates are rejected - they are not imported, so won't cause any problems other than delaying new imports (as described in the tutorial).
Manual Import does not move the files it reads as this will often be from an archive. (so I guess you do have 'move processed files to' enabled...)

If you can't get auto import to work please report your problem and we'll investigate.

So is it actually saving these files through auto-import? Or when I delete them from the original location will they disappear out of PT3 also?

Yes, I'd already loaded 2500 observed hands into PT3 from AP, it would show the next 1500 in the import status as being loaded but they would never come up in cash games as ever being loaded, I refreshed a ton of times, stopped and started auto-import, importing more a ton of times, refreshing a ton more times, closing and opening a few times and refreshing a ton more times, and restarting my computer and refreshing, it's weird.

Once hands are imported into PT3 you do not need the hand history files any more (unless you ever need to re-import). PT3 just moves them to the 'processed' folder so that it doesn't have to read them again next time.

When you re-imported the hands, what did it say? Did it say they were all duplicates? (which would mean that they are in your database)

Check that you don't have a filter applied which is hiding them - click Clear.

It's working for me through manuel import, but the files don't delete in IBmine>histories, it's weird, I just deleted 10K hands out of UBmine>histories to make sure thye would stay in PT3.

As I said, manual import does not move the files it imports, and once the hands have been imported to PT3 the files are no longer needed.

Ok, I just hope the auto-import works correctly when I am sitting at a table now and everything will be fine for me. Thanks for referring me to this thread from PT.com.

You need to add the UBMine/Histories directory to the HEM auto-import directories and then the HUD should work while HM is importing.

Hi Neko,

First off, thank you so much for all the time and effort you've put into this script. I used it for the first time today, and let it run all day. I collected over 10,000 hands! I do have one question, however. As the script runs, it collects only one hand per hand history file. Is there a way to have it collect multiple hands into the same file? I'd read earlier in this thread, where you'd allowed 100 hands to be added to the same file prior to a new file being written, but that's not happening w/ my installation. I'm using the .exe you'd created.

One other item of note...as PT runs, it imports 2042 hands. After that, it just sort of idles. I have to stop the auto-import, and restart it. Again, it goes up to 2042, and I have to restart again. However, it seems to be inputting the same 2042 hand history files. It's rather strange. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey jmg,

Right now it can only save one per file which is kinda stupid. It used to be able to save an arbitrary number of hands per file but UB changed something and I made a crappy fix and then never came back to do a proper fix. Maybe I will redo it over the next couple of days. I will post here when I do.

Re: PT3, not sure what that problem could be. Do you have PT3 set to move the HH files after it imports them?

Yes, I do have them set to be move to the processed directory upon proper importation. I'm still trying to figure out how the numbering works on the hand history files. It appears that the files have similar names, such as:

IHH1_Table 16349133.txt
IHH1_Table 16349133_1.txt
IHH1_Table 16349133_2.txt

IHH2_Table 16349133.txt
IHH2_Table 16349133_1.txt
IHH2_Table 16349133_2.txt

It appears the table numbers were throwing me. As of now, I believe that all the hand history files have been imported and transferred to the processed directory as designed. Therefore, everything appears to be in order.

Thank you for your help!

Hey Guys,

I rewrote this script entirely this morning so that all hands from a table are written to a single file with the correct naming convention including the table name, number, limit etc. Much better than before

Download it at http://www.evplusplus.com/poker_tools/ub_mine/

The download contains both the executable version as well as the python script. Instructions are available on the download site.

Please let me know if you have any troubles

Cheers,
Neko

When I run an Omaha table I get an error message with UBmine.... Is it still capturing hands after the error pops up or do I have to mine only when not playing Omaha? Thanks for the software!

If an error pops up then it is likely no longer collecting hands and needs to be restarted. Can you be a bit more specific about when it occurs and what the error says? Are you datamining omaha and playing other omaha tables? I can't see why it wouldn't work while you were playing, but I haven't actually tried.

Been getting this error a lot lately:
Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "UBmine.py", line 132, in <module>
File "UBmine.py", line 87, in start
  File "UBmine.py", line 58, in parse_instant_replay_file
IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied
press enter key to exit
Seems to be randomly occurring so I can't pin point a trigger for you.

Hey Neko, I just ran the program, and it picks up the hands already in the instant replayer and then has this error shortly after.

Traceback <most recent call last>:
File "UBmine.py", line 134, in <module>
File "UBmine.py", line 94, in start
WindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied: 'C:\\Poker Application\\UltimateBet\\InstantReplay\\184053607 6.dat'
press enter key to exit

Any ideas?

Hey RH,

Are you on Vista, Win 7 or XP?

Assuming you are running the latest version, it looks like you might have to run as administrator. Right click on the ub_mine.exe file and click "Run as Administrator".

Updated so that it works with Omaha and Limit games....the '/' in the game names was causing a problem writing to disk. www.evplusplus.com/poker_tools/ub_mine/

Thanks for the excellent tool Neko.

Would there be any issues regarding sharing these files? I have access to PC's that run 24x7 and there's a chance I might be able to leave this running all the time. If so, I'd be happy to share the files somehow.

Hi Sharimar,

Thanks for the kind words. Even if sites allow datamining, sharing the data is usually against the terms and conditions of the site, so you should be careful if you decide to go that route.
