Thank you for making this software! For too long I've felt like a second-class citizen here in USSA land. I was hoping someone would make a product for Bovada that auto imported HH, included a HUD, and had the ability to data mine our own HH. Good work!
Someone just pointed me to this product this morning. I used it for a couple hours on Ignition today while 4 tabling cash games and here are some initial thoughts:
-Tooltips in the main window would be helpful. It was not at all clear that I needed to click the "play" button in order to start the HUD and importing hands. Now that I know how to start/stop it's obvious, but initial impressions are very important and there's no reason to make that unintuitive. It seems odd that the play button seems tied into the "HUD" tab of the application. I would think the play button would be on the extreme left all by itself since that's what is starting/stopping the HH importing as well as launching the HUD?
-Should the vertical stats be the default? I have to run my 4 tables at min size and the default view obscures the timers which pretty much makes that unusable as I would think pretty much every player wants to see the timers.
-The HUD obscures the "player number." This might not be a big deal but when i see someone rage tilting in chat I want to know who that is on the table. I can see their player number in chat, but i cannot see where they are on the table because of the HUD. Maybe add a tooltip in the HUD or somesuch where if someone mouses over that player for a bit the TT would display their number?
-I don't get the purpose of the "power button" icon in the upper right corner of the window. In most GUI-based operating systems users are extremely familiar with clicking the X in the top right of the window to close the application. The power button seems extraneous/uneeded? Again since there was no tooltip I clicked on it to see what it did and was surprised it closed the application.
-I like the dials on the dashboard tab. a possible quality of life improvement would be if the dials had green/yellow/red ranges much like the redline on a tachometer to show ideal ranges. For example maybe VPIP < 10 as red and VPIP > 30 as also red with the rest of the range green/yellow? I understand these values are dependent on a number of factors. They could also be user definable. Also things like 3 bet% will always be a low number and in that case the dial should really be logarithmic as opposed to linear because it will be very low for pretty much all players. Again it's not a big deal, but if you put in the time to make the dials why not make the feedback they give as good as possible?
-I think the Dashboard tab is very clean and straightfoward. One additional feature i would love to see would be a "heatmap" like other products have. By this i mean a grid showing the 169 starting hands where the pairs are in a diagonal line from upper left to lower right. The suited hands in the upper right of the grid, and the unsuited hands in the lower left. maybe with 2 sets of filters: position, and win/loss type. SO maybe they can filter by all positions/early/late/blinds and amounts being either in raw dollars bb/100 or similar. I really like data mining and those heatmaps are very handy to visually see exactly what hands are (and are not) worth playing.
-Overall the application appeared to get 100% of all the hands i was dealt. The amount is said i was up after one session was exactly the same as I was up so at the very least it did not miss any of the hands i played where I either won/lost money.
-The HUD, on the otherhand, went a bit awol on me. I'm on windows 10. The HUD seemed to start up fine, but after awhile the HUD on 1 of my 4 tables went AWOL. It stopped collecting any stats. after an hour it still said i had only played 12 hands and all the values were at 0.0 Some other players at the table had stats. Eventually the HERO stats simply went away. New players that entered were never given any HUD. Eventually (maybe after another 30 minutes or so) the HUD for the hero did return. The values displayed on that table were largely messed up as it had some players with all 0 stats despite being there and playing for an extended length of time.
I will send the log file and a support message from within the application. Hopefully that will help.
It wasn't clear from your website/FAQ but do you accept payment in bitcoins? For USSA players the preferred method for ignition is now bitcoins and it would a big plus if you accepted them as well.
Thanks again. I will most likely purchase a license and I look forward to continued improvements with your product.
