Thanks, I'm glad you like the software . This is an issue with our automatic tournament closing feature that we are still working on fixing it. The first thing to try is to turn off the close tournament lobby checkbox on the automatically close finished tournaments feature, and increase the timer to like 8+ seconds.

If this doesn't work then the only way to stop this is to turn off the "Automatically close finished tournaments" feature entirely.

We know this is not ideal and we are working on fixing it,

Re: New Software: TableNinja - Hotkeys and Utilities for PokerStars

Is there a feature that auto moves new tables to the current layout so you don't have to keep going to options every time? Seems like that would be a pretty standard feature if not. Maybe you can do that from stars? (new there)

If I'm understanding correctly I think you want to turn on the "Remember table positioning" option in pokerstars which is near the button of the dropdown menu that opens when you click the bottom right of the dealer stack with tile tables, and making custom layouts, and all that stuff.

This will make tables open to where they last were (which should be wherever your custom layout had them last session unless you're moving them around before closing them or something).

Let me know if this helps,

Tarath

Also does stacking work better than cascading lag wise?

We know that over 90% of people are having no trouble with lag so there must be some common factor among those that are that could explain the problem and help us know exactly how to fix it.

I am not sure what TableNinja could be doing that could eat that much processing power. On my comp (which is quite new) it never uses more than 3 or 4% of the CPU so its definitely some kind of bug related to you're setup.

Let me know what the performance monitor shows, and we will keep looking into this on our end. I'm really sorry you guys are having issues.

Thanks guys,

Tarath

EDIT: Also can you guys double check that you have the correct Table Layout selected on the Setup Tab? It is possible that if you are cascading/stacking and have things set to NoOverlap, or have it set to the aero theme but are not using the Aero theme that something like this could happen.
I just installed a new OS yesterday (Vista 64-bit) after I posted that complaint. I didn't do it because of this software, of course; it was a long overdue upgrade that I needed to fully utilize my 4 GBs of RAM. I just thought I'd tell you since I won't be able to troubleshoot my aforementioned problem with you anymore. For what it's worth though, I was using HEM's HUD, I was cascading, I had it set to cascade in TableNinja, and I didn't try stacking because I don't like it.

After I play tonight on the new OS I'll report back here on how it runs.

Thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it. Definitely let me know how it goes on vista.

It has caused problems for a few people, others have had no problems, I think the best bet is just to try it and micro-stakes and see.

Tarath, do you know if it's possible to run the software in conjunction with other scripts if you play on multiple sites, using the same hotkeys? Or would they conflict with each other?

I know there are people using TableNinja with FTS while multi-siting. It really just depends on how exactly the other scripts work, some programs are better at "sharing" than others. If you decide to try it out I would definitely recommend testing things out at microstakes.

Re: New Software: TableNinja - Hotkeys and Utilities for PokerStars

Haven't seen my problem posted. Sometimes the frame doesn't get written to the target table with the new version. I'm forced to grab the mouse when it happens and is frustrating and that's not a good thing.

I'm either imagining a pattern or it gets confused when two tables require action almost simultaneously. The frame just decides not to do anything. The other situation seems to occur when the same table I just acted on happens to be the table that requires the next action.

If you don't know what's happening, how do I get the old version back?

Computer is standard XP setup. Theme and Table Layout set correctly (HS & NoOverlap).

The only thing I may have set differently than other users are the frame colors. Needs Attention & First in Line light the screen up like a Christmas tree so I have those two set to black (transparent in new version). Target Table is default red. Default Bet is default yellow.

Thanks.

Hmm you're the first person to ever describe this problem, so I am not sure what could be causing it. Are you clicking on non-Stars windows near when it it happens? If you click on a non-stars window the table that would be the target table because the first-in-line table. Since you have the first-in-line frame turned off it would then appear that the frame wasn't there. I recommend turning the first-in-line frame on (you can make it a less bright color obviously) and seeing if this is the problem.

If you want to go back to the old version go to our website http://tableninja.com/downloads.php. The instructions on how to revert to the old version are on that page. I'll copy them into this post just in case you have trouble finding them.

------------------
1. Uninstall version 1.0.115.0 by running the installer and selecting "Uninstall". You can also uninstall from the Add/Remove programs menu in your Windows® control panel.
2. Download version 1.0.93.0 from this link and install it as normal.

Also, maybe your mouse is over your HUD and not actually directly over the table?

When I enable the "Automatically close finished tournaments" option, tableninja also tries to close multi-table tournaments where I switch tables. Is there a way to fix this?

This is a bug we still haven't figured out. We thought we had fixed it (and it has started working properly for some people) but for other people its still a problem. We believe it has something to do with lag, but we haven't come up with a solution yet, I'm sorry.

Right now there is no way around the problem, but we're going to keep working hard on it and it is one of our top priorities.

Re: New Software: TableNinja - Hotkeys and Utilities for PokerStars

Tarath

just bought the software...love it!!!!

noticed one thing maybe related to what onaflag was discussing..

when i hover my mouse over the bet slider or over the bet amount, i cannot use table ninja keys on that table..it deactivates the table and i have to move the mouse slightly so it's not on that..then it works fine.

it's not too annoying and i'm not a programmer or anything but i wonder if the program could recognize that the mouse is over the table by frame size or something.

anyway...again...very cool software

I also had a suggestion...FT shortcuts has a timer feature that displays a counter starting from 0 and counting up the instant it's your turn. can be useful to reduce timing tells. it would be nice if we had the option of placement, font, size, and 2 or 3 color ranges (0-3 seconds could be white...4-10 could be yellow...11 could be red, etc..)

take care

Re: New Software: TableNinja - Hotkeys and Utilities for PokerStars

When we purchase, I would like to see a little popup that says "thanks!" or something. I had to go back to the purchase menu to make sure it worked :P.

I have a lot of things on the wish list. The two highest would be (in order)

- automatic SNG opener. say I have a filter in Pokerstars client and it displays only the tourneys I want to be in. Well I only have to click register and then TN closes the popup and everything from then on is great. BUT if I am trying to say 18 table continuous, it is a pain to go back to the client and click on reregister. Now I know there are other tool available... but it seems quite possible and an awesome feature to have something like this in TN.

- automatically click "I am back" button.

I would also like to say that I am using my PS3 gamepad with TN and it is tons of fun. Making money never felt so good. Now when I get hit by a 2-outer I feel like I've taken a cheap headshot in KZ2.

Something serious: HUD+TN combination report. I am using a HUD I wrote myself (from open source code of an old HUD) for speed reasons. However it looks like the way I am drawing to the screen is causing a large amount of lag with TN. This is a real problem, since I'm playing turbo tourneys and a little lag can cause a lot of timeouts.

I don't want to shell out the money for a commercial HUD if it isn't going to be less laggy. I find the PT3 HUD too laggy, have not tried HEM. PT2 HUD just isn't useful enough for me (I'd rather use the one I made myself).

I'm looking for a HUD that plays well with TN, and plays well with more than 20 or 30 tables up. My computer is fast enough that TN+PS client can handle 50+ tables with zero lag. But I can't play half so good without a HUD. As soon as I boot one up, I'm limited to ~18 tables before the lag makes me time out too much.

Help?

Thanks so much for purchasing and supporting TableNinja, I'm glad you like the software.

We can definitely improve how the mouse targeting works. Right now it checks what window is under your mouse. Unfortunately the way windows works, your HUD is its own window and the slider bar is also. We could probably do something involving the window size, although the fact the the table is untargeted when you're cursor is over the chat box or the notes is intentional. Still this is definitely something we can improve.

The timer idea is a great idea and should be pretty easy. I've added it to our list.

Thanks again for your support and feedback,

Thanks for all the feedback and for buying TableNinja. I've added the thanks for purchasing popup to my list, its a great idea and I'm sorry the way it works now is confusing.

Automatically click I'm back is one of our top priorities and will almost certainly be in the next update. A SnG opener is something we do plan on adding but probably not for a little while.

For your HUD+TN = lag issue, do you have the frames on for TableNinja? We think the lag issues (which can be a problem on PT3 depending on how many tables you play) are actually an issue of our frames fighting with the HUD to stay right next to a table in the windows Z order. We are working on resolving this issue already and are making progress.

To be honest I don't know many people who play more than 24 tables so I don't know if lag would be an issue with 50 but in general people using HEM seem to have better luck. Maybe someone else can post here with some advice on this.

Its possible that if I knew exactly what your HUD was doing I could give you some advice on how to make it work more smoothly with TN.

If you want to email me at support@alxsoftware.com and discuss it I'd be happy to try and work with you to figure things out. It might actually give me some insight into how to make things work more smoothly with other HUDs as well.

Thanks again,

Tarath

Re: New Software: TableNinja - Hotkeys and Utilities for PokerStars

Hi Tarath,

I think I've nutted out a temporary fix. I don't really like frames so I've had them disabled ever since my first download. I've taken the measure of setting the process priority for the pokerstars client and TN to abovenormal and the priority for my HUD to low. (In the windows task manager.) This way, I can play many tables without hardly any lag. The issue I think is due to many windows (tournament lobbies + tourneys) killing the windows memory and forcing VM (even thought I have 2 gig) and then the VM combined with my HUD reading hhs from the HDD argue over who gets to use the HDD first, and if the VM loses (as it will from time to time) the whole computer lags.

So not really an issue with TN as such, but still I hope it is interesting nonetheless.

Cheers,
Ugi

Re: New Software: TableNinja - Hotkeys and Utilities for PokerStars

Hi,

I'm really happy with this program. I just bought it. Keep up the good work!

Feature Request: A way to assign multiple hotkeys to the same action. (Useful for switching between mouse/keyboard control). If you're worried about cluttering the UI you could try letting the Left click button allow multiple assignments. for example, left-click on a box, and while holding it down, click Right-mouse button and another key and both keys will then do the same action. I'm not sure if there's a better way of doing this. If the UI eventually gets cluttered, you might want to have an advanced options menu or use a Tree View Control instead of tabs.

Bug Reports:
- If a PokerStars theme isn't selected on startup, the System tray will tell you to choose it on the General tab, but it's actually on the Setup tab.
- Are the calculations right on the #BB + X per limper option? When the antes kicked in in my tourney the normal bet seemed larger than what was correct.
- What should the behaviour be for the default pre-flop bet if a player raises before you preflop if it's set to the #BB + limper option? The software seems ambiguous on this point, and I'm unsure what the current behaviour is.

I'm having the same problem. My setup is the same. Except that after I changed, needs attention & first in line to black(transparent) I changed them back to the default settings. I hoped this would fix the problem, but it didn't.

I just have four tables tiled. The only pattern I might have noticed is that this usually happens when the focus should be on one of the bottom 2 tables. But no red border appears at all on any table. So I have to grab the mouse to make sure I'm clicking on the right spot.

Letting people assign multiple hotkeys to the same action should be possible but might involve some major changes in the code, I'll have to look at that code to be sure. Its also possible it would be very easy to do. Your idea for how to make the UI handle this without getting cluttered is a very good one.

We will definitely fix the no theme selected pop-up, we changed where that option was located in the last update and apparently forgot to change the pop-up text, sorry for the confusion.

The #BB + limper option does add the amount of the antes right now, this is a bug we are working on fixing and hope to have resolved in the next update.

If you are using the #BB + limper option and someone raises in front of you the default bet is set using the default % bet. You are correct that this is not at all clear from the interface and is something we should improve.

Thanks gain for all the feedback, this is all very good stuff that we will work on.

I just have four tables tiled. The only pattern I might have noticed is that this usually happens when the focus should be on one of the bottom 2 tables. But no red border appears at all on any table. So I have to grab the mouse to make sure I'm clicking on the right spot.
Thanks for reporting this, with tricky bugs like this every additional report really helps. Do you think you could email me your log file and configuration file at support@alxsoftware.com (both are in your TableNinja install directory, the log is marked with todays date and the config file will be named TNConfigAutoLoad). This would be super helpful and would really help me track this down.

Thanks,
