2.check/fold works on ps,but bet/raise doesn't,sometime I speak "bet 60% go",it bet 100% instead,mostly there is no action.

3.I set the vocal shotcuts,but it doesn't work,I don't know the reason.

I sawy all the four video on your site, don't know how to fix these problems, need help!
Thanks!

Hi tulip,

I've investigated the issues - managed to reproduce in WinXP - which is your operating system. The problems you're having are because of Windows XP. They don't appear on Windows Vista or Windows 7.

I've added a page with Windows XP Limitations:

Hi John

I am using XP and I am having some real problems.

The mic picks most everything up...I'm getting check/fold to work fine

When I say "bet pot" it displays "bet 100%" but enters the minimum bet into stars bet box.

When I say "bet 10" it displays "bet 10" but enters 10 INFRONT of whatever value the bet box starts with (usually one bb, eg. 2 in 1/2 play money) and so I end up with a value of 102 in the bet box ready to bet 102 chips when I say "go".

I can't seem to fix this.

When I say "bet pot" it sometimes adds a 0 to the bet box.

I'd love to look over this with you in teamviewer or something if you can. Please PM me!

I'll buy it if I can iron out the errors

Thanks

I just downloaded this today... and it seem to be working fine on FTP.

In the speak! window it shows my speaked actions like when i say call... but it also says it cannot preform this action now.. even when it should be able to do so.

Is this software upto/date with the new versions on FTP is the question...

1. What's happening with the product these days? It looks like there hasn't been much development for a while.

2. I've been testing it in Pokerstars. I keep getting the response- "Can't fold now" in red. The words are recognised and I have a green table number. Just no button press is occurring.

If you could get this to recognize musical frequencies, in addition to vocal commands you could easily create a wireless solution to play poker. In theory it would work like this you would have four bells, one per finger and they all sound a different note. You have metal plate attached on the thumb to ding the bell against something. You then use this program to recognize each separate tone. The tone would be in sync with the commands used in poker: Bet,Fold/Check,Call,All in.The product would look something like a glove and would a cheap wireless poker solution.

He he good one - never thought of that - but that would be totally different than what I'm doing now.

Hi,

1. You're right, not much development lately.
2. It's been transformed into www.key-poker.com (using keys)

This is a pity. I think speak poker was a very clever idea and would be a great for those of us with problems with our hands - RSI, carpal tunnel, joint problems etc. I know perhaps in practice it was far from issue free to get speak poker to work slickly but maybe in time and employing different ideas such as Sorrybadbeat had or maybe using special reserved vocal sounds that correspond to fold, call, check etc that don't necessarily have to be the words fold, check, call. I think if I remember right this was one of the issues as fold and check could get mistaken sometimes.

Regarding the new app key poker. This has essentially been done already and it might be a new app for the market but it's not a new concept. You can already use Tableninja and I know there are other apps. So even if it turns out to be great it's just going to be a rival to others rather than bringing something fresh and potentially a 'life saver' (ok well hand saving).

I understand why you abandoned it but would be great if a fully and easy to use speak poker or something similar were available.

Agreed. It would be a shame to lose it. Would you ever consider making it open source on sourceforge? Many players could be helped a voice system. A collective development effort could take it somewhere.

Was thinking this myself. Great idea.

pls go back to speak poker..it was a fantastic idea...

keys poker is unoriginal and useless when compared to stars own hotkeys and tableninja

support speak poker!!

fwiw KP was unique in that it supported many sites instead of 1 (tn). Just because you dont personally have use for something, it doesnt automatically make it 'unoriginal and useless'. Kp is/was integral to many American players post bf who were forced to multi-site to get volume in.

Hi,

I agree it's a pitty - but there was very little interest in SP.

Anyway, in the near future I will probably publish a free version of SP that will support all sites KP does at this time.

John

Hi,

I'm not yet ready to freely publish the source code - which took a LOT of effort on my part. Firstly, the sources are very similar : KP and SP - what SP has extra is the speaking part.

Hi,

Sorry you feel that way, but compared to SP, KP generated a LOT more interest - and still didn't make me enough money to consider continuing support.

As said, I will have a free version of SP in the near future...

tbh if I was in your position I wouldn't also wish to just give up all my hard work without some sort of reward. If someone were interested in buying the source code or perhaps you allowed someone else to take over and you got a percentage of sales would that be of interest to you?

It actually crossed my mind to make you an offer myself but I don't think I have the time or tbh the dedication to work on the app myself, but someone else reading this might be interested perhaps.

There's other possible arrangements you could do perhaps like working with some of the longer established app creators perhaps?

Just a few thoughts anyway...

Anyways best of luck John, hope you get some proper reward for all your effort.

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words
Yes, it's been a lot of work. And yes, I might get an offer from someone bigger - we'll see how it goes
