Congratulations, you just insulted a potential customer.
Some say this is the worst possible sin that could ever commit in the computer industry. And it would get you instantly fired in a lot of customer-oriented computer companies.
My personal opinion is that you just confirmed one of my thesis: that you treat your customers like your enemies.
It's a business model which could work as long as you're holding a monopoly - but as soon as an alternative is available, your customers may start running away.
Just look at it this way: You just lost a potential customer. Probably forever. As a matter of principle, I usually don't do business which folks who previously insulted me personally. And may others may feel the same.
Wake up kid, I don't want you any harm, you're not my enemy.
But you just don't know anything about business. Your customers guarantee your long-term success and survival in business - if you treat them like xxxx, then it's just a matter of time until you're going down.
Another very important lesson that you need to learn in business - and really listen to it:
You just don't deal with "difficult" customers like this. You especially don't do this without even attempting to talk to them.

Under no circumstances should you ever personally insult one of your potential customers by calling him a moron - even if the guy clearly stated that he won't buy your software, you're selling to everyone - which means that I'm still in your target audience.
