Agreed, I think the simplest approach would be to flag an expense type as coming from either chips or wallet.

The next decision would then be how to reflect those under "Profit" and "Profit after expense". At a high level, expenses such as Tokes and Paying Time instead of a Rake are a direct cost of playing poker. I would rarely want to look at my hourly or session profitability without including those.

Whereas indirect expenses, such as travel and accommodations to play poker are useful to track your net profit from playing poker, but don't necessarily tell you exactly how well you're playing poker itself. These costs tend to be more flexible--maybe you could have stayed in a cheaper hotel. These costs may also span multiple playing sessions.

From an app perspective I'd like to be able to easily view net profitability with "Tokes/Time excluding other Expenses" as well as net profitability "including all expenses".

Wrapping up my thoughts as suggestions:

a) Make it easy to see at least 3 different views:
- Gross Profit
- Net Profit after direct expenses (Tokes, Paying Time, others)
- Net Profit after all expenses, or even better be able to filter by categories of expense types.

There are different ways this could be accomplished, including adding more views to the graphing, or the ability to create and save more customized views.

b) Would be nice to have some easier method of updating Tokes. In PJ there are +/- buttons in the session interface you can simply tap to update your Tokes as your play. In RG its necessary to go into the Expense item and edit it for each new Toke.

c) Some method of dealing with Expenses that span multiple sessions would be useful. In PJ this could be done by creating a Trip/Series object, that could then be flagged on any playing session.

Curious- is standard deviation calculated in the program? I cannot locate. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of updates lately. RunGood 1.6 has been submitted to the App Store and is awaiting approval from Apple for release. The update doesn't address every issue in the thread, but it does address many of them. We have more additions planned for a major update, hopefully soon. Here's the change list for RunGood 1.6:

- Transfer sessions seamlessly from RunGood Lite to RunGood
- New summary stats and standard deviation stats for cash games and tournaments
- New buy-in fee stats for tournaments
- Reorganized stat sections
- Option to save payment method (cash or chips from stack) for cash game expenses
- Location setups are used when selecting locations from In Play session timer screen
- Newly added locations, games, series and tags are automatically selected when appropriate
- Tournament rebuy amounts are autocompleted using previous buy-in
- Improved handling of autocompleted number fields
- Hours played goals no longer include break durations
- Database preparations for next update
- Various improvements and fixes

Awesome, I'm looking forward to this, thanks!

A fix is on the way for those having trouble adding new locations. A temporary solution is to clear favorite locations. Sorry for the inconvenience!

We are also working on new features for a major update that will arrive shortly after the fix.

Thanks for the pro-active update and for your committment to the app. I'm a big fan and I recommend your app as often as I can.

Thank you! We don't have a big marketing budget and rely a lot on word of mouth.

Can you do reports in Rungood like you can in Poker income? I want to compare my winrate between all the places I've played at or days of the week or between game types and I can't seem to find the features to do it. Do I need the full version?

Hi, I downloaded the new version this morning and now my rungood app will not completely open. It goes to the first screen, the one with the 4 icons but not the words, freezes for awhile, then shuts down.

Hi, sorry for the very late reply. The stats are there but organized differently in RunGood and Poker Income. In RunGood, simply tap on your win rate stat (for location/game/day of week) to see a detailed ranking.

Sorry for the late reply. Did we already resolve this for you via email?

If that was another user, please email us (feedback@RunGoodApp.com) so we can help you resolve the issue. (If you are using an iPod touch and have a large number of sessions saved, the device could be terminating the app during database migration due to insufficient memory.)

Thank you for the app and for the continued support.

One bug, one feature request:

Bug:

When in Results > Stats Tab > Cash Games > Most Profitable Per Hour

If you click on "Game" to get a breakdown of $/hr by Game, the amounts reported are not correct. If you go one section down to Most Profitable Per Hour (Big Blinds) and click on "Game", you get the same breakdown, but in BB/hr. You'll notice both of these values are the exact same by Game. I believe the $/hr is incorrectly being reported as BB/hr values in the $/hr section. As far as I know, the BB/hr values are correct in the BB/hr breakdown, however, different values should appear in the $/hr breakdown.

If this is not clear, let me know, and I'll attempt to enter the realm of posting screenshots.

Feature Request:

When looking at a graph, you can pinch to zoom in to the graph. However, the axes notches at x number of hours on the bottom axis or $x on the right axis, do not move or scale at all. So, for example, when I'm looking at my lifetime graph, and notches at the bottom are at say 2000 hours and 4000 hours and the notches on the right are at every $100k. But when I zoom in, these notches do not change at all to give me any sense of scale. So if I want to zoom in to a 1000 hour section, I don't get any sense of scale at the bottom any more because there are no notches. It'd be nice if the notches scaled and we got notches every 100 hours or whatever is appropriate. Same on the right axis. If the notches scaled from every $100k to every $10k or whatever is appropriate to the zoom scale.

Again, if not clear, please advise and I'll attempt screenshots.

Thanks for listening and considering,

Mike

quick question I could probably find via google / your site but this thread jumped up so will ask here:

If I bought this on ios and switch to droid do I have to buy again? I assume the answer is yes but would be nice if not considering how little I have used it so far.

Yea, sorry for the probably even later reply, but yea, you already resolved it. On another note, I wonder when you Android App is coming, any ETA?

Beautiful App, well done. Discovered it less than an hour ago. Question: What’s the point of the tab for inserting Results? Buy-in/Cashed out will set the amount automatically.

The Result (profit) field is for users who don't want to bother with the Buy-In and Cashed Out fields. We wanted RunGood to be flexible and suit the needs of different users, so we allow players to enter as many details as they choose, or the bare minimum about their sessions (date, profit, duration).

For those asking about the Android version, we're very, very sorry that it's not available yet. As mentioned previously, we outsourced the development of the Android version to another developer and ran into several issues working with them. We don't want to release a buggy, unpolished app for Android users, so the release keeps getting delayed while we try to fix things. We know a lot of you are waiting for it, and we can assure the app is coming to Android. Thank you for your patience.

Also, sorry for the late reply. The best way to reach us is via Twitter (@RunGoodApp, www.twitter.com/RunGoodApp). We usually respond within hours when we get a tweet.

^ This. Would also like to see a "rock" option. Would make quantitative analysis easier if one could breakdown, for example, PLO sessions played with a rock vs. without.

Hello rungood! I also posted this on your Twitter account. I'm having trouble with my application as it is not netting out my bankroll. I deleted and reinstalled the app and imported my sessions and now it has the bankroll at zero. Any help would be appreciated. I'm playing in a tournament today and I'm wondering if I should use the app or not. Now that the bankroll at zero should I simply make a transaction as a deposit to bring it up to its current number?

If I download this app, is it just a couple easy clicks to import all of my pokerjournal data?

Yes, but beware if you have been keeping track of tokes, food, and drink on PJ. Once you export to rungood, rungood will assume all of those expenses were payed out of wallet, rather than from your chipstack, which means that when you look at the profit after expenses graph, it will actually be lower than your net profit graph. It's kind of a pet peeve, I wish the dev could fix this.

However, You can just ignore the profits after expenses graph and just look at net, it will yield the same graph/numbers as PJ's net.
