We have been told the opposite, that is why we designed the filters to use such as simple graphical interface. Players wold constantly tell us they hated having to search through long lists of options, it would take a long time just to build a simple filter - with PT4 building a filter is a breeze provided you plan out the goal logically. Perhaps you are just frustrated because the interface is new to you, once you play with it you will find it very simple. A good starting place would be to watch all of the built in tutorial videos, we cover many filtering examples in the report tutorial videos for your convenience.
Start by thinking about the function of the filter, are you looking for an action or an opportunity to take an action in a hand? Then choose Actions & Opportunities. If your filtering for all hands that met a specific definition such as number of players, the size of the pot, or hands that have notes the use Hand Details as the starting base. Game details cover topics that are specific to all hands within a game, such as date range, currency, or stakes. Bord texture and Hand Values should be self explanatory. Session details will be rarely used for most PT4 users, this is for filtering the length or win rate in a session (a session can consist of multiple tables).
Click the on-switch to activate an section. Close the options below to alter the section. Click Add to filter to bring the new items to the top layer of the filters, this is where you can combine multiple filter options at the same time using standard AND /OR logic which has been included in PokerTracker for nearly a decade.
If you are struggling to make a specific filter, then feel free to share what you are trying to do with us, we can tell you how to make the filter - and as of today's beta release we can even save the filter for you so you can import it yourself as a quickfilter - this is a new feature exclusive to PokerTracker 4, it will be a great time saver for those who want to share filters (such as coaches) or when our support team needs to give you a hand.
