In the "Select Player Range" window, I imported a range from a .prt file by using the button "Import Tree From File", and it deleted the ranges that I had already created. How do we import without deleting existing ranges?

Hello Hector1,

yes, this is something that we will address in the future.

At the moment, you can merge ranges on a text basis. The "prt" files are human-readable, which means you can open them with, e.g., notepad. If you export your current custom ranges into a "prt" file and open it with a text editor, you can insert the contents of another "prt" file for merging. Make sure, then, to maintain the general structure, so that all ranges and groups are below the "Custom range" folder.

If you need any assistance in that, feel free to contact us anytime, and we will help you with merging.

Does this help you?

Best,
Michael

Hi, which hand history format should I use? I've tried a bunch. This is a WPN HH.

Thanks

Hello Neurotoxin,

usually, "Plain Text" will do. However, Holdem Manager does convert hand histories independently of the site played on. It might be that the format of this particular site is currently not supported. If so, you might send us a blinded version of a hand history (Plain Text, again) and we can have a look of some simple changes by hand will do it.

Michael

Im trying to run pokerrange but I get 0xc0000007b error message. Im on windows 10, 64 bit.
I have tried downloading and installing both the installer and archive file several times.

When I run the old XP version it works, but not the latest.

What might be causing this runtime error?

Hello sooraw,

yes, this is an error that is easy to fix. Please, just rename msvcp100.dll to backup100p.dll and msvcr100.dll to backup100r.dll.

Then, PokerRanger might already run. If not, it is necessary to install this official Microsoft package: https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/down...s.aspx?id=5555

Afterwards, you should be fine.

Please let me know if this helps!

All the best,
Michael

Good morning,

I'm using the free trial to determine if I want to purchase the software and I can't figure out how to do something rather simple.

I have imported the upswing ranges into the range tree.

When I click on the proper branch of the tree, it clearly has loaded correctly as I can see it within the range matrix with different groups colored differently, in this case color #1 - red. Further, the proper combo's are listed in the combo listing box. For example:

55+,A2s+,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,98s,87s,76s,AJo+,KQo

I click "OK" to proceed back to the main page to perform some analysis. However, in the Player Range box instead of the red colored range (in this case 55+,A2s+,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,98s,87s,76s,AJo+,KQo) appearing as the player's range the full matrix of 1326 combos appears.

Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong?

Thank you.

Hi MrHS,

in the main window, in order to use a specific group, you need to select it with the drop down that is at the very right of the text field that contains the range as text.

You are, of course, right that selecting the range in the hand range selection dialog should also select it in the main window. This would certainly be a usability improvement. We will apply this to PokerRanger2.

Does this help you?

Best regards,
Michael

I have a small problem with the UI that I can't figure out... First I select ranges, I click the hands I want. Then I put them into a color group and paint them red. Now how do I go back to adding/removing hands from the paint mode? I can't seem to find a way to add hands and no way to change back between the modes... As soon as I click the red color I seem to be stuck at painting them forever with no possibility of adding/removing hands. There must be some way, right?

Hello T.C.,

please excuse the late answer.

If I understand you correctly, you are in "group painting mode" and would like to go back to "range painting mode". You can achieve this by clicking on the "*" group which is on top of group 1 in the top right part of the hand selection dialog.

This can also be seen at this screenshot: https://d3ltpfxjzvda6e.cloudfront.ne...kerranger3.png

Does this help you?

Michael

Are you still planning to release Poker Ranger 2?

A few years have already past since you announced the developement for it which makes me kinda think that you dont plan to anymore.
I am asking this because I consider purchasing PokerRanger, but if the release of PR2 is close then Id wait for its release.

I have another question (cant edit my post above anymore).

Is there an option to add custom hands somehow in the "board hits"-tab?
I would like to add a few Ax hands, but these are in the "High Card"-section which doesnt seem to be editable.

Hi Speck CHAMP,

definitely. We currently work on the most complicated part but even for this part, we have solved almost all big issues. Release year is 2020, this is certain. The exact month is not clear so far, but we strongly target the first half of the year.

Regarding your second question: What you can do is, right-click the specific group and get a copy of the specific hand strength. Now, you can, for example, create a group out of this selection and within this selection, you can naturally remove or add any Ax hands you would like.

Does this help you? Maybe, you could specify a bit more what you would like to do with those hands, maybe there is also an additional/more efficient way.

All the best,
Michael

Hey Michael, any news regarding PR2. What will be new? Will it be a one time payment? Cheers Gio

Hello Giozinhzo123,

glad that you are enthusiastic about our new software!

There are a few things that will be new. Many of these are what users have wished for for a long time. For example, there will be Mac and Windows versions and we will provide solutions to work multi-screen. But these are more of the "soft-side" parts of PokerRanger2.

Again, we still do not want to go into too much detail here, but there is a lot to be looking forward to.

Currently, we target a subscription-based system because we see that many rookie players would love to work with PokerRanger but have trouble paying the whole price upfront. More flexible plans account for these. However, we will offer some upfront benefits for our loyal customers of PokerRanger1, so that current customers benefit from being these.

As promised before, 2020 is definitely the release year and we are working hard everyday (Saturday & Sunday oftentimes included) to give you the software as fast as possible with a great new user interface and highest performance and stability.

We hope that you have happy holidays and wish you a happy new year!

All the best,
Michael

Hi again,

we know about the other tools on the market but there is none that I would consider comparable to PokerRanger2 at the moment. So, I think, the deal should be fair anyways and you will be happy to work with it.

And if you have any special wishes for the new version, feel free to convey them! Even if we do not introduce them to the first release, they might find their way into our product later on. We are always curious about your day-to-day struggles with Poker software and would love to help you out here.

All the best,
Michael

Yeah I was hoping for a single payment option as well. Would be great if there were both which could cater to both sets of customers imo.

wow, I just checked https://www.pokerranger.com/ and saw that you really made it. Video recorded on Dec. 30th, lol. Congrats for keeping the promise !
I am currently fairly busy, so I will not manage to test it really so no sense in using trial version now. But I will definitely try it in late spring. Looking forward to it ! Well done !
I am surprised you have not made an update in this post.

Hey Michael,

Any update on the release of PokerRanger 2?

Hi everyone!

Yes, sorry for the late answer. We are still working on some material on our page. We planned to provide more detailed information here when we also have more content. We need to do many things in parallel, so bear with us But now, I can finally provide more details here!

But yes, PokerRanger2 is officially out now! We have weighted ranges now, a better group management (with trees), automatic import of PokerRanger1 trees (since yesterday, first update), multiway support (up to 10 players, this embraces ALL functions), and: Expected value trees. You can design ANY scenario that you would like to, preflop, post flop, multiway, reactions to any kind of action... You can create entire trees like in CardrunnersEV, and it also works using hand history import. For this particular feature, we already have a small tutorial.

Also, you can design the layout like you like. Everything is dockable, everything is resizable. You can work on tiny screens and also multi-screen. PokerRanger2 is supported on Windows and macOS and we provide updates jointly on both platforms due to our new continuous integration development.

We try to provide more and more content on our page. The domain is now with "com" at the end, but we forward from the old page... So, just visit anytime!

By the way, at the moment, we have two promotions at the same time: You get a cashback if you purchase PokerRanger2 as PokerRanger1 customer (in the amount of one month) AND get free months if you choose a 3-month or 12-month plan. You can combine both of them!

morvudd:
Yes, of course! Just drop us an email, best with the email with which you purchased PokerRanger1. Of course, we strongly recommend to switch to PokerRanger2 anyways, as it has way more features and as we can directly transfer your feedback into new features and changes. We already have a long list and introduced many ones into 2.0.1 which was released yesterday.

anon707:
Thank you Yes, official (although somewhat silent) release of 2.0.0 was on 31 Dec 2020. We stand by our word. Of course, there is always more things to do, so we provided the first update yesterday already with many fixes, UX improvements as wished by early feedback from beta testers and customers.

And thank you for the kind words! We hope that this new version really provides a much better usability and makes it easier for you to work with the software. Please provide feature wishes, found bugs (each software has them, if we are entirely honest) and usability wishes.

Sparkyyy:
Especially now we learn that we can provide far better content, far better updates, and better support by being able to refinance. Also, with ongoing subscriptions we can better "feel" if we satisfy customer needs better. If desired most, we will also add online features that need more of our server capacity that incur running costs (range backup, browser viewing of ranges, we will need to get more feedback on things like that, too). But we will also put more polls, questions, etc. into the software and on our homepage in the future to see what you desire most!

While we try to update Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook now, too (and our new newsletter, this will give the fastest updates), I promise, we will also keep this thread up-to-date again from now on!

Please, if you have any feedback or questions, feel free to contact us anytime either through this thread, through email, Skype, any social media channel and so on. Everything can be found on our homepage.

Thank you very much for your loyalty and your great interest!!

All the best,
Michael

Glad to hear!

When you try out the new version, please let us know if you find anything unintuitive or would really LOVE to have that other feature in there, too. This helps us prioritising features and also articles. Our first next article will be about managing ranges, using groups, quickly adding hands by hand strength (flush, str8, etc.). Some things have changes from PokerRanger1 to PokerRanger2, but we believe they are a major plus!

Another idea is offering a "PokerRanger1 legacy layout" because some users said they are very used to the layout of PokerRanger1.
