I am prety sure they won't distribute any malicious code.
They have different view on Pokerazor. They think it shouldn't be public cause it is or become too powerful. This is why probably no new things will be added and no future support will be offered.

Beware that when you run the program for first time, there is a pop up that asks you to download a newer version. DON'T do it, it won't let you use the program if you are not registered.

I hear this is good program capable of some the stuff that I wanted to do that stove can't do.

I also see it has been discontinued with new version not coming out till 2012.
Is there any way to still get a hold of the original version?

Go to http://www.virustotal.com and upload it. They scan it with a whole array of virus scanners for free. Results while you wait.
