Poker Minion is multi-tabling software for PokerBros and other emulator-based poker apps.

Originally released in 2007 for use with PokerMaster, Poker Minion has since been converted to work with PokerTime, PokerKing, RedDragon, WePoker, and the newest edition, PokerBros.

Hi Melea, I was curious what do you think about AMD CPU performance compared to Intel for using 4 LD_Players simultaneously, grinding PokerBros.

I've heard that AMD is bad with emulation and Intel is preferred, however lately all the good mobile laptop CPU's are AMD..

Should I aim for 8-core, is 16gb ram enough? I plan on using a windows OpenVPN and H2N.. Is GPU the main factor? Is 2cores/2GB enough per emulator?

Hello! OK, so firstly some background into what I have. Last year, my IT guy and I spent some time looking into what was needed to run a dozen or so emulators smoothly. The specs we went with are below, and I’ve had no issues running several emulators.

CPU: i7-8700
RAM: 32GB
GPU: GTX 1070

LDPlayer support will recommend that you get an Intel processor, but every player I have spoken with who have a strong AMD CPU have had no issues. My guess is that for older/weaker processors, an Intel would perform better than its AMD equivalent, but for decent CPUs it seems less important. For running four emulators, 16GB RAM will be fine. RAM isn’t too expensive though, so you may wish to go with 32GB if you plan on keeping your PC for a while! The good thing about PokerBros, compared to other emulator-based apps, is the fact that you can play multiple tables per emulator, of course. This allows older/weaker PCs to handle several tables of PokerBros, something they couldn’t do with any other app. However, even though a weaker PC could handle, say, 8 tables spread across 2-3 emulators, any serious player should upgrade as it’s just a much more pleasant experience.

My processor is 6-core, so there is no need for 8-core, but I guess it comes down to price and what else you may wish to use your PC for in the future. I’m not a hardware expert, but I have had plenty of experience using TeamViewer to set up hundreds of PCs for people to use Poker Minion emulators, and the graphics card is the main factor, as you suggest. This is a good site for checking out the performance of any particular graphics card: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/

I recommend using that site to compare any card you are interested in verses the GTX 1070, to check that it is close enough in performance. You can also check eBay, as you can often get a good deal on a used card for less than $$250, although try not to buy from someone who has 20 of them for sale as they may have been used for mining Bitcoins. Do a little due diligence on the seller.

As far as the emulator settings themselves, lower the default FPS on the emulators from 60 to 20, and don’t use the first emulator as this one’s FPS is stuck on 60. (See image below.) The CPU (core) and RAM settings on the emulators are less important. I have always used the default, but I have heard others advise to use just 1 core per CPU in the LDPlayer settings, and for your total RAM for all emulators to be no more than 75% of system’s resources.

The latest version of Poker Minion for PokerBros now also supports the BlueStacks emulator.

The first time after upgrading Minion, you will need to select the following settings (highlighted in red) and then restart Minion.

Support for MEMU has also been added, although currently the MEMU emulators' borders will glitch a little. If you want to try MEMU, then change the 65 (highlighted in red below) to 48, and select MEMU.

NOX compatibility has now been added to PokerMinion for PokerBros.

Yes, I am hoping to add this feature. It's a little tricky to incorporate into Minion, but I think I've found a way of doing it that will be smooth and reliable. Currently I am adding some more on-screen buttons/Hotkeys to handle 3-betting, and I also have work to do on the PPPoker version. It's near the top of my "To Do" list though, but I can't commit to an ETA!

Yes, it adheres to the PokerBros Terms of Service. Furthermore, Minion has been used by hundreds of users across many apps for the past three years, and no player has ever had any issues.

Seeing as another multi-tabling software product is no longer supporting this site, I have decided to make a version of Poker Minion for Ignition/Bovada. I'll try to get the first Beta versions out by the middle of November.
