Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Hi
Im trying piosolver 2.0, specifically the nodelocking feature. I think its clearly more intuitive than before but have a hard time using it for these reasons.
1- When i try to decrease the raise percentage of top pairs, instead of doing so proportionally, it sets the same raising percentage for all top pairs regardless of the kicker (For Ex: original strategy was raising AK 75% of the time and AT 25% of the time in A25. If i decrease checkraises of top pairs by 50%, i would like AK to decrease to 37.5% and AT to decrease to 12.5%. Instead i get both of them being checkraised to 25%)
2- Also when i try to diminish the check raise frequency, i notice sometimes a hand that has a higher EV calling than folding starts folding. For example, AQ sometimes raises in 866 and never folds. But if i diminish the raising frequencies of Ace highs, it starts folding a certain percentage. I think that happens because other ace highs do have to fold sometimes, so it puts all the Ace highs in the same bucket, including AQ. If, as noted in point 1, this was proportional for each hand, problem would be solved. Also, i think it would be useful to be able to choose, when for example diminishing raises, whether this hands that arent raising anymore should now instead pure call or pure fold (instead of doing a mix of both). For example, if i want to diminish raising with AQ in 866, i want it to call the rest of the time and not start folding.

I would apreciate a quick answer.
Regards,
Tony

I need help with the GTO trainer function. I don't know how to load "Packs" or even how to get started. Is there any information/videos/tutorials to help a struggling guy?

Thanks.

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

i rented a server that is dual xeon 28 physical cores, and it hit 3600 on cinebench r15. however piosolver is slow on it - bench is 4 seconds which doesn't seem right. this was before and after i tried cinebench, so something is causing it to majorly slow down. when i look in task manager, it shows the cpu maxing at 50%. when i run a solution though, it is still slow (compared to my desktop with a similar cinebench score) but shows cpu maxing at 100%. any idea what's wrong?

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Hey, I am now renting a server (with contabo) with an AMD 7282 16 core, running scripts - however I’ve found that the processing speed (srp ip 1 flop sizing, 4 ott & otr) is no faster than my laptop 4900hs which is a 8 core. All the performance tests & benchmarks show that the multicore performance should be nearly 2x and pio pro is meant to be able to utilse 16 cores so why are my models not solving any faster? Any help is appreciated.

(using pio2, original pio algorithm)

Unfortunately we are not able to accept 3D secure transaction using BrainTree (our main payment gateway) at the moment.
If you choose PayPal it should work. You don't need PayPal account to pay with cc/debit card using it.

Those are valid points.
The feature is being redesigned right now to make it easier to use and solve the problems you mentioned.

No video yet.
There are two ways to add a pack to play against:

1)Add one file (useful for preflop saves mainly)
2)Add the whole folder (mainly useful if you solved a lot of trees with a script/job queue

Try it!

This is because the updater doesn't overwrite existing folders.
You can do one of the following:

1)Install it in a new location (recommended solution)
2)Remove the preflop_subsets folder, run the updater again.

Yes, if the trees are relatively small.

I have no idea.
Is it an edge version?

If the action frequency is above the threshold it's not considered an error.
This makes sense because we know that in equilibirum mixed actions have equal EV. If you solve the tree for a while and get a mixed action the following is most likely:

1)The action is mixed in equilibrium as well
2)The solution isn't precise enough yet for EVs to be exactly the same.

The threshold takes care of that. The more precise the solution the smaller it would need to be.

Something wrong with the system on the server.
The most common culprit is energy saving settings being on by default. Check it and set to max performance.

A bit of a weird question, is there an option to purchase your preflop solver separately?

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Why in job queue sims that are not done to set exploitability are saved and ignored the next time job queue runs? Now I have a lot of sims that didn't reach targeted exploitability marked as done in job queue. This is an unexpected behavior that wasn't happening in old Pio with scripts that always saved only fully completed sims.

How to re-done these sims to targeted exploitability easily?
How to set Pio to not save sims that haven't reached targeted exploitabilty in job queue?

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Is there an upgrade option to go from Pio Basic to Pio Edge.

I bought Basic a couple months ago and like it a lot, but now I would like to be able to script and run many sims at once for a particular situation. Also, the 2nd license would be nice to run some quick sims on my laptop.

Can I upgrade to Edge for the price difference or do I have to just purchase Edge now?

Hey, i am still kinda new to Pio and just ran my first aggregation analysis.

When i generate a report it doens´t come organized. It is impossible for a human to read (as you can see in the picture below) but the data seems to be there. I think it all comes in excell column A which isn't organizable.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I appreciate any advice. Many thanks in advance!

If you have basic 1.10 version, see here:
https://piofiles.com/faq/#basic_faq__upgrading_to_2

If you have 2.0 version already, then:

This is a bug in Excel (or other program you are using). I've explained it here:
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...postcount=1666

In general Libre Office or Google Docs should work well out of the box.

The jobs that didn't complete to requested conditions aren't solved.

In jobs there is a setting "stop calculaton when solution reaches desired accuracy or a timeout of X seconds has passed".

You can select a job and click "show execution log" to see which reason has been used for which tree of the job.

If you never want to use timeout and only use exploitabiliy condition then set timeout to some artificially high value.

Yes I know and I am doing this. But I used to close jobs by clicking on abort calculation and save currently solved tree because I thought solver will finish the sim next time it runs which unfortunately isn't the case. How to make it that PIO calculates all the sims to the desired accuracy? Should I just close the jobs window?

Yes, simply cancel current job (cancel button in the bottom right of the screen), and when you start it again it will solve those trees that haven't been solved yet.

Yes, you can build limit holdem trees.
Keep in mind that they are quite big (HU spots with HU ranges and full betting structure (donks, cap of 4 etc.) is around 13.5GB) but other than that there are no obstacles.
You can also usually make the tree a bit smaller but removing some options (especially the flop donk bet).

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

I am using PioSolver 2 on an old computer using the CustomBuild "oldCPU". I have an issue node locking pre-flop trees. I'll stop a tree at .35 bb/100 then I lock the OOP player's decisions vs a complete or a raise. Then I restart the simulation and stop it again at say 1 bb/100. What I've found is that my In Position player never changes his strategy even though a different strategy clearly has a higher EV. I've confirmed before starting the sims that the In Position player's decisions are not locked.

For example I made my OOP opponent too aggressive and although my In Position opponent had a significantly higher EV raising with almost all his hands he still chose to play the exact same strategy that was set during equilibrium play.

Any advice on how I can run a node locking simulation and see the strategy of the unlocked player actually change would be appreciated.

Thank you for your help.

Is it possible to solve for 6-max LHE ranges?
Also, I've often seen that LHE takes more memory, I would have thought it was the opposite because only one betsize. Is it just because the postflop ranges are wider?
