EVs are calculated against current solution. When the solution is slightly adjusted (for the opponent) the EVs change. Then in turn our strategy is adjusted and so on. The longer this process goes on the closer EVs for mixed actions are going to be. The moment they are always equal for mixed actions it's a perfect equilibrium (exploitability of 0). EVs being different for mixed actions is more of a measure of how precise the solution is. It very rarely means the straties are going to change by a lot and it definitely doesn't mean the EVs would be different once the equilibrium is reached.

As to your tree:
While its far from ideal the tree starts with forced 3bet and 4bet so the starting pot is already 75bb (I am guessing). While it's not ideal that there is a mistake as big still at this accuracy this might happen. I can rerun the tree with a different subset/accuracy if you want me to but maybe you could experiment yourself.

In general the solver is not as good at preflop trees when one of the initial ranges is small unfortunately. That might be one reason it has trouble converging further.

More or less at least until you are not considering setups with multiple CPUs and more than 32 cores overall. You are very likely to get that speed-up (or more).

The reason the numbers are not exactly the same is that the solver returns absolute EV of a line. That means that if you for example call 100 on the flop then call 100 on the turn and then fold river he EV of that is -200.

PioViewer translates that number to what most people are used to (final fold being 0 EV). The translation is rather straightforward and it's controlled by the formula you can edit yourself (look into Tools->Configuration).

You would need clear_lines command at the beginning of the new config as well.
A better (imo) way to do it is to create a separate script for all trees, add:

at the end of all of them.
Then create a .bat file like this:

CALL PioSOLVER_pro.exe script2.txt
CALL PioSOLVER_pro.exe script3.txt
...

(assuming all of the scripts and the executable are in the same location, if the scripts are somewhere else you would need to use a full path to them).

Ohhh it's that easy So in calc_ev the matchups are already taken into account but just provided for the sake of it? Either way, I can now replicate the exact numbers from pioviewer

Is there a way to script report generation?

I'd like to set up a script that solves a subset of flops (already done) and then automatically generates a report from the generated subset.

Also, is there a way to generate reports on various turn/river cards? Can this only be done with cfr files that have solved turns/rivers respectively? (ie: No way to auto-generate a report across all possible turns)

And... is there a way to generate bet-size frequency reports for the IP player facing various lines from OOP?

Yes. They are important if you want to calculate average EV for the whole range for example.

You're welcome. It's a bit rough and the docs are lacking. We can't focus more on it as it's a mainly consumer facing software but we wanted to at least make it possible for programmers to play around if they are willing to experiment or guess watching what the viewer is doing.

I do not have pio currently, and I have a question about the piosolver scripts.
If I solve a flop and I save the tree, can I then load the flop in my script so I don't have to resolve it and can quickly solve any turn ?

I have a question regarding the Runout aggregated frequency analysis over multiple files option.

I want to export all of these .csv files at once for all the files (multiple flops) and all the decision points in each file (every gamepoint on every flop)

Can you guys help me to find out how can I do this?

Pio solves the whole tree. "Solving flop" means the whole tree (flop + every turn + every river) is solved as well. When you save the tree you can choose which part of the tree to save:

-flops only
-flops + turns (recommended as it's a good balance between file size and speed of resolving)
-full tree (very big files)

When you load a save it will automatically recalculate missing parts of the tree on the fly while you browse. In case of flop only saves (micro saves) it will take a while but in case of flop+turn saves it will usually be around 100-200 miliseconds which is barely noticeable. This happens automatically when you browse, no need to click/request anything.

While Pio is very efficient when it comes to RAM usage 4GB is just too little to do meaningful work with the program.

The reason this is not possible now nor feasible to implement is that such reports would be at least 10x bigger than the full tree in RAM (which is already a few GBs if you use multple bet sizes). This is just not practical to store or process.

Unfortunately I don't know. I wouldn't expect meaningful difference. I think with modern Ryzen CPUs you need faster RAM to get max performance but otherwise it shouldn't matter much. Pio's perforamnce is CPU limited not RAM transfer limited.

After changing the strategy and node-locking you need to run the solver again. Go to the treebuilding tab and click "go".

Is there a way to insert a backslash in piosolver? I try to click backslash in logs or in any box that allows me to type characters and it always display a ¥ yen sign instead of \.

Even if I copy and paste a backslash from notepad to a log, piosolver automatically converts it to a yen sign. Is there a way to fix this problem?

I would like to use a backslash to generate scripts but I cannot because of this bug.

Hello,

Is there any way that I can set up piosolver ranges of fold/call/raise by myself at the %s that I want so it shows up like in the screenhost that I have uploaded here?

For example: 25% call, 25% fold, 50% raise with AQo, dividing this hand in to blue, red and green colours. And do the same with all the hands I want.
