Please read the quick start guide "commercial versions" subsection:
http://piosolver.com/pages/quick-start-guide

Steps 1 and 2 describe how to use the updater with the download link you got from us (it' s still the same link you've got with 1.4).
If you've lost your link email the support and you will get it from us.

I've emailed support as I've read what I'm supposed to read, done what I'm supposed to do but I still get the same error message.

Also, I never received an email saying my update was available (as stated I should receive such an email in my original email advising my download link)?

Should I have received an email advising of new update?

My dl link works manually but not via pioupdater which leads me to suspect my firewall but my firewall settings seem ok and there is nothing in my firewall log.

Note: Manual dl link working isn't much of an improvement as now I face the unwanted nightmare of updating from the zip to the programs folder manually.

Why don't you guys use industry-standard windows update??? (And please don't say you want to focus your limited development time on features as that is unprofessional and unacceptable for a commercial tool).

I suggest you take your chill pill, get some sleep and then think about life.
You are getting bonus support for a small price because I am passionate about this product and like to help people. It also means I get to choose who I am working with or get **** from. If copying some files and patiently waiting for reply from me (I get to sleep sometime and you are spamming both this thread and my email) is beyond level of computer literacy you're willing to acquire there is little I can offer you.

I am not a guy who likes to use superlatives a lot, but support for this tool is indeed the most outstanding I have ever experienced for any product, and updates have worked just fine every time so far for me personally.

You probably didn't read the email with registration code in detail. There are instructions what to do exactly.

I assume this is user error, but I'm having difficulty with the force OOP bet. Without this ticked I have a normal tree, but when I check this it has no tree, and looking in the browser it seems to change the starting stacks to zero

Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Thanks in advance

It is possible to lock 1 player? (all nodes of that player)

Figured it out, I also need to tick box for include OOP

Hi all,

I was way for the weekend but it seems all the problems were solved already.

Yeah, there probably should be a warning or something. The way it works: "force OOP" bet forces one or more out of existing bets and does nothing if there is no bet to force.

If you build a sample tree, for example 100bb->2bpot-full+airiver out of the default ones and then go to Tools->Solver->arbitrary command and type node_count there you will see that there are 209764 decision nodes for one player there.
That makes locking all the nodes for one player troublesome but you can of course do that. It means a lot of clicking though.

If you want to lock all the nodes without changing strategies there is currently not such option and I struggle to see a point. If that's what you mean please explain what you want to achieve - there is probably a better way.

There are many questions about subset of flops which is suitable to use for approximating preflop EVs (because running 1755 flops takes a lot of time and electricity).
Usual starting point is Will Tipton's thread on 2p2, here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/15...-game-1408420/

While this is a decent start Tipton made some mistakes (including isomorphic flops) and didn't consider many important conditions. The tests show that EVs based on that subset are a decent approximation but there are visible biases.

Some people tried to improve on that subset with good results. That group now includes us. Here are preliminary results for various subsets using least squares measure (across all preflop hands):

EVs in the table are real EVs computed on 1755 flops for various real life spots. Notice that even some flops of 48 and 51 boards beat Tipton's 99 one (103 with isomorphic flops removed) but you start getting really good results at about 200-300 flops.

This is still ongoing work and a lot more tests are needed before we are comfortable publishing anything because we know people will use it and then blame us if the results aren't correct. Stay tuned!

Hero: in a node the strategy for TT is raise 100%. I want to know why is raise and not call, i want to know in the villain range what holecards benefits if i call (in comparison to a raise). So i need to see EV of villain after my action, but not total EV, only againt TT. I could lock all nodes from the 2 players and edit the node to only raise with TT (so EV displayed is only againt TT). Is there another way to do it? Thanks

i thinking about getting a new computer, which processor would be more benefitial to use w/ pio?
Core i7 5930K, 6core
Xeon E5-2630 v3, 8core

I am skeptical about the value of the concept of "EV against one hand in range".
You could look at equity or you can combo lock TT to be call and then solve (but that's not available from the graphical interface right now but I show how to do that in the 1.6 feature overview video in the 2nd part).

Definitely 5930k. It probably makes more sense to go with 5920k as they are the same CPU and you can overclock it by like 20-25% if you really want (make sure to get good cooling in such case).

The rule of thumb with Xeons is that they are way worse performance/price wise and it only makes sense to go for them if you are getting a lot of cores (24+ or maaaaybe 16) and you lack real estate so you need everything in one work station.

With regards to the node locking feature I was trying to figure out the cost of a villains 'error'.

If for example with GTO play a villains c bet on a board texture is say 65% but we know villain will c bet board in question 80% we lock this in and run our sim.

So we know his ev playing gto and we know it with this one leak.

Would I simply subtract the 2 numbers and multiply it by 100 to give a bb/100 estimate in this situation?

Yes.
One thing is that it's important to compare overall EVs (the ones in root) and not the one in locked node. It may well happen that locking something further down the tree affects play beforehand and then even though you make significantly less once locked node arrives you make up for that in a different branch. Compare overall evs (either click "IP/OOP EV" in root or just look at the solver's output on the right in tree building tab.
