Hi. I have pio solver Pro version. Even that i didn0t buy the Edge one, i believe i should be able to open preflop files in order to see them.
Yes although you may need to update your version to 1.10.18, see:
https://www.piosolver.com/blogs/news/piosolver-1-10

Once you do that feel free to download some free preflop solutions Pio Cloud made available recently:

Please install it a folder with only ASCII characters (basically latin letters). Something like C:\PioSOLVER will work.
The reason for that is that it's a bit of pain to implement unicode in C. I will try to do that in the future but for now please keep your Pio files in a path that contains only latin letters/numbers.

Preflop solver is not available in basic/pro versions. You can read preflop saves though.

Hey, I am now using the free version, looks like the pioview doesn't support 2560*1440 resolution ration?
I have 2 2560x1440 monitors at home. The viewer looks much better here.
It's most likely caused by scaling settings. Those were terribly implemented in Windows in the past. It's fixed in Windows 10 but if you are using scaling and you are on older Windows then things are going to look worse.
You can try setting DPI scaling to 100% and see if it looks better.

We did improve how the viewer looks on 125% and 150% scaling in the newer versions but it will always look worse than on 100% on Windows verison older than 10.

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Hey,

I bought PioSOLVER Edge, and things were going great for solving individual spots.

I did my first script and solved the 184 flop subset from the Pio blog. The problem is when the solve finished I couldn't open up the aggregate report. When I try, this is the error that comes up:

https://i.gyazo.com/1f71d8cbfaf10cc2...fd32cdb738.png

I've tried a small 5 flop script, and I could open it no problem, so I don't know what's going on thats different here.

Another weird thing that happens is, once I load up a saved tree, I can go through the tree and pick the actions all the way to the river with no problem, but once I click GO in the Run Aggregation Analysis, I can no longer click on any of the decisions in the browser of the solve. I get this error message:

https://i.gyazo.com/4d6b2a01bbb7b3b2...e069b3abb3.png

The strange thing is that the decisions were all clickable, right up until I tried running the report.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is the 3rd night in a row I've tried running a 184 flop script (first two were my fault), and again have to deal with disappointment in the morning.

Thanks!

ty very much, it seems it was just the accent and now it reads it curious bs before it was even reading it in the same folder with no problems ^^

There actually were problems when you try to save script files in those paths. Now you are getting error message instantly. This is to avoid unexpected behavior later.

In the "Runouts aggregated frequencies analysis over multiple files" is the last line of the file the average of the other lines ?

(I do not speak English well I hope I have been clear)

Yes. Those are numbers are weighted average.

No, you can pay the difference (+25$ after first month). Please make sure you have access to very powerful hardware if you intend to run the preflop solver. It's recommended to have at least 64GB of RAM and a fast modern CPU. It won't run on a laptop nor most home computers.

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

I want to buy a laptop that can, amongst other things, run Pio Solver smoothly.
I came across this HP laptop and would like to know if it would do the job.

Intel Core i5-8250U
16GB RAM
256 GB SSD

Would something like this work or should I look for a different CPU?
Thank you.

While this CPU is quad core it's only clocked at 1.6Ghz. There are HQ series CPU available on laptops which are clocked at 2.6Ghz (and maybe more). Those will be significantly faster.
In general a laptop will never be very good when it comes to performance but the best you can do is to go for HQ series CPUs.

When I do a script and set it to to be accurate to 0.1% of the pot, sometime it saves to 2% of the pot or 1%?

It only happens if timeout is reached before the required accuracy is.
Please notice that if you look at the script window it shows exploitability in chips (not % of the pot) which is common source of confusion. The best way to see what accuracy in terms of % of the pot was reached is to load the save in PioViewer.

I don't think the time out was reached, this is what I get when I load a tree?

Just writing to report a typo in the description of 'Building starting range' in PLOCalc:

"Suited/non-suited
=================
Any Card can be combined with Suited (*) or Offsuit (o) modifier.

K* - Any combo indlucing a suited King. E.g. AhKhJc9d"

You wrote indlucing instead of including. If there is a better way to report small things like this, please let me know.

Forgive me if this has been covered before: is there a way to dump the flop solutions for a given preflop solution to individual files? For example if I have a preflop solution containing 184 flops, I'd like to write 184 .cfr files, each of which starts from the flop.

We would need to see the script or the screenshot from script generation window. The most likely reason for this is that you have used a comma "," instead of a dot "." as a decimal separator. An error check for that will be available in the next release.

Thanks, it will be fixed.
For things that simple which are unlikely to generate discusison/be useful to link to just email support@piosolver.com

It's not possible as of now.

You can't because most things displayed are calculated on the fly and the saves contains only minimal information that is needed to recreate anything. That requires full solver implementation.

It should work if you get the saves from someone else.

These are only preflop charts basically I bought from PioCloud, without flops (cfr files are 20-90 MB). I have the pro version and it seems like I can browse trees instatly, I was wondering if I can do that in the free version.

Those are micro saves (preflop + flop). You need a commercial version to browse them for reasons explained above.

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Hey punter,

Ran a script last night with a few flops and accuracy set at 0.5% with some huge timeout number and 2 mins breaks between flops. I did get the solves, but they're all solved down to ~4.5%-3.5 instead of the set 0.5%
Any ideas why that might be?

It's almost always caused by using a comma "," instead of a dot "." as decimal separator when defining accuracy you want to use. A comma is just visual tip in English so something like "0,5%" becomes just 5%. We still haven't shipped an error check for that sadly, it will be available in the next release.

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Does anyone know why Pio will only use half of my RAM when I run a script?

It keeps saying "Error: build tree not enough memory; needed 18922MB; available: 17818MB"

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight - Core Processor 3.2ghz
32GB RAM

I have tried allocating RAM via system security with disk drive and YES the RAM is correctly installed and YES the BIOS is reading the correct number of RAM. My other programs like Adobe Premiere PRO will utilise almost all the memory but PIO won't

Does anyone know why or how I can allocate my entire 32gb of RAM to PIO so I can run this script.

Pio uses all the RAM available. What it reports as available though comes from Windows. Windows is often slow to see freed memory. This is why it's a good idea to use "ignore memory check (after first tree is built) option in script generation window (it's in the bottom right area).
What is likely happening is that Windows doesn't report freed RAM as available after the first tree. You can confirm that by re-starting the viewer, making sure no other memory heavy programs are running and estimating size of a a chosen tree. In addition to estimated size it will also show you how much RAM is reported as free by Windows.

It's also possible to ignore memory check altogether although this is not recommended because if there isn't enough RAM and swap file starts to be in use everything on the computer will slow down to a crawl.

Re: PioSOLVER - postflop equilibrium solver for Holdem

Hey, just bought PIO few days ago, and I'm trying to understand the reasoning behind PIO decisions.
Is it correct when PIO shows the same EV if you bet or check? I thought EV will be diferent between betting and checking...
Sometimes PIO suggests to call a bet even when EV is negative... if we know EV is less than zero why should we call?
Probably these questions seems a bit silly, but I can't get it...
Thanks in advance.
