Hello, I'd like to know, why the result is not the same when I Create a subtree configuration ?

For example, we call a Cbet from the BTN in BB, board Kd 5d 2c. The turn is a 7h and PIO suggest do Donk bet in BB 6,4 % of the time but if I make a subtree configuration on this turn, PIO suggest to bet 27,17 % of the time for the BB.

In both cases, the accuracy is 0,25 % of the pot.

Thanks !

Same as with any other window in Windows, by clicking the middle button here:
Im not so dumb . You said I can make it fullscreen, so I thought it can be FULLSCREEN (you are talking now about what's called Windowed screen).
This middle button is presumed to be pressed of course.

If it doesn't move maybe the whole PioViewer window is too small or resolution of your display doesn't allow for more space.

That is my view as it is.
My resolution is pretty standard (1920x1080).
I would happily move the bar to the right but I can not.

Again, those things are impossible to answer without seeing the actual tree. The way to do that is described in this post:

I am sorry, it's sometimes hard to guess what the problem is from seeing a short post.

It looks like it's already max size. With this resolution the average numbers for 3 actions should display without problems. What Windows version is it? Maybe you use some kind of scaling settings? (which were terrible before Windows 10 and effectively reduced your resolution).

Its Windows 10 (15063.726)
Scaling settings are default afaik.

I start see numbers for 3 actions only if I move horizontal bar to the up as below:

But its rather annoying because pot and stack numbers are half hidden
I would happily reduce font size or something in Pio settings for this purpose but I dont see such option in Tools-Configuration

It's not fully fullscreen because there is a horizontal Windows bar on the bottom (you can either hide it or move it to be vertical on the right for example).
Anyway, we will try to do something about it but it's a bit tricky because we need to render it correctly without hand group names ("AK", "AA" etc.) overlapping with the information displayed no matter what the size of the squares is.

Hey,

My laptop broke and I'd like to move Solver to another computer without having to buy a new license. The previous laptop still works a little bit so I was able to deactivate solver on that computer by following the tutorial video but I still am not allowed to activate it on my new computer. It says that it's in use on maximum amount of computers still. Help?

It looks like deactivation didn't work for some reason. Just drop us an email with your key and we will reset it for you.

I know how I can run a script with the same ranges, stack size for different flops,
now I want to create a script that runs sims on different flops and different stacksize, so
different solves after ones, is there any guide to get this going for a beginner?
for example xxxflop 23bb deep, after this is solved, the next board yyyflop with 9bb effective and so on, that I can run it over night.
cheers

Hey, my preflop-avx solver seem to have lot of troubles getting nash distance closer than 1.5% of pot.. It's getting stuck around this point and don't move on much.

My setup is AMD threadripper 1950x/x399 chipset.

I think this is already pretty comfortable distance for education purposes, but just for the sake of it I want to know if it's possible to solve it a little bit further...

Script is under the spoiler.

I know how I can run a script with the same ranges, stack size for different flops,
now I want to create a script that runs sims on different flops and different stacksize, so
different solves after ones, is there any guide to get this going for a beginner?
for example xxxflop 23bb deep, after this is solved, the next board yyyflop with 9bb effective and so on, that I can run it over night.
cheers
You need to chain scripts. It's described in the Skype Group FAQ, here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...h.g7mc8bun7z1o

ctrl+f for script.

Alternative is to make a .bat file like this:

CALL PioSOLVER-pro19.exe script1.txt
CALL PioSOLVER-pro19.exe script2.txt
....
CALL PioSOLVER-pro19.exe scriptn.txt

and then run it. In such case you need to include exit command at the end of all scripts.

Hey, my preflop-avx solver seem to have lot of troubles getting nash distance closer than 1.5% of pot.. It's getting stuck around this point and don't move on much.
A few points:

1)It makes very little sense to use % of the pot when solving preflop trees. The reason is that it's hard to define what starting pot even is (in HU it's 0 and then there are forced bets called blinds). It's better to use bb/100 metric

2)The current preflop solver struggles if there are multiple bet sizes postflop, the reason is that it's already uses very little memory and thus is less precise. There is little to no reason to use multiple sizes postflop when solving preflop trees as they don't influence preflop ranges almost at all (as long as you have at least one reasonable size included).

The situation with multiple sizes is going to improve in the next release but the point about there being little reason to use them stands. It's better to use a bigger preflop subset instead for example or just get to the solution quicker.

1) It was something like 0.75-0.85bb/100 (bb size =10) in BB's metric, is it acceptable?

2) That's quite interesting, I thought there could be some minor changes when there're more strategic options for both players, which could probably lead to some better equity realisation overall.

Thanks for a quick reply, appreciate it

I have PIO pro. I sometimes get preflop strategies which I can view in PRO. I want to be able to round these strategies. How do I do that? Every time I try I get an error message and disconnected from PRO. Is there a way?

Thanks for your time.

Yes, it's very good. Usually you should strive for 2-3bb/100.

While I haven't run enough trees to be 100% sure it doesn't change anything it didn't influence the solutions almost at all in the ones I experimented with. Maybe if you can find a spot where 2nd size is an important strategic option but that's in general quite tough (important as in bringing a lot of additional EV).

There is no way to do it right now. It's not possible in the tree itself as without rivers/turns it's impossible to recalculate EVs after strategies change. Rounding could only be possible visually (without recalculating EVs).

You can use create preflop charts tool for that though. Try loading the save and going to Tools->Create Preflop Charts from current solution. There is an option to round them there.

Is there is a way to choose the preflop raiser? If not, please explain how it's irrelevant.

Would appreciate a swift reply from anyone, Thanks.

Doesn't matter, I've found the 6maxSBvsBB script which is useful for this, but for some reason it's raising 100% of the hands selected for SB range even though there's a fold option, is this a bug?

Is there anyway to node lock villain's ranges for future streets such as we are OTT and want to node lock villain to say call wider then normal for a majority of rivers?

It's irrelevant, only the starting range matters and who act first (IP or OOP) is determined by money in the pot fields, here: https://gyazo.com/6a4b6874381158d9033a8934b86d4d85

So for example in the screenshot IP is first to act preflop as they have less invested than OOP, this is typical HU structure.

Why do you think it's raising 100% of hands?

There isn't right now.

Hey,
I've just tried to compare multiple sizings vs single and found that at least in my samples, it does influence preflop ranges, against multiple sizings OOP player was defending about 5% less for example. Same flop subsets (54). I guess I have to try it with more flop subsets, but I just can't run 128gb atm, have to wait for a BIOS patch to be able to run my memory sticks on x399 chipset, even though it was on QVL

Feel free to share the configs (either here or via pm), I will take a look and re-run them.

Hi punter,

I have run some script to compute range against range equity and plot it into graph to see equity distribution and it seems your algorithm is able to perform it very very fast compare to other software on the market.
does it use complete enumeration or any kind of monte carlo?
I am impressed by the speed it is almost instant I did not think it was possible.

1)It's exact, no monte carlo
2)It's significantly slower than what is used in the engine while solving (cause it was more convenient to code that way and it's fast enough anyway as you can see)

hey guys I got a noob theory question here, I know I'm overlooking something but cant find what it is. So my understanding is that for each decision pio looks at how ranges interact with the board then finds the optimal decision based on the chosen bet/raise size(s) in relation to the eff stacks, and it seems to generally make up for the lack of sizings by using more of a mixed strategy than I'm guessing it would need to with 2 or more sizes (am I missing something?). So in theory where does the incentive for multiple sizings come from? Also if we use one sizing there would be an optimal size based on ranges and stacks Im guessing, so if we're using anything other than optimal sizings would the "exploitable for x" ever get down to 0%?

Well, it doesn't know what that optimal decision is going to be. What it does is that it looks at EV of its strategy against opponent's strategy (at given point) and then adjust its strategy in direction of the highest EV. Then it does it for the opponent and then repeats the process many times. In the end the strategies converge to optimal strategy.

It's very mixed with many sizes as well, you can run some trees and see
My personal view on why there is so much mixing is that without it it's very difficult to ensure checking or betting range don't have holes in terms card removal/board coverage. In other terms: it's too easy to play against someone who always bets a good hand (for example).

So in theory where does the incentive for multiple sizings come from?
Bigger size = more pressure against stronger part of the opponent range. Smaller size = you can bet more often and therefore put more pressure on weaker part of the opponent range. You may have a range strong enough that there is place for both. This in general happens mainly on turn/river as on the flop it's (usually) more important to bet as often as possible with stronger range. This is generalization which doesn't always hold. You should run some trees yourself and see

Im guessing, so if we're using anything other than optimal sizings would the "exploitable for x" ever get down to 0%?
Exploitability is calculated in the context of the current tree so it doesn't matter if you are using optimal sizes or not.

You need to reset a license on your old computer first and then activate it on a new one.
You can do it yourself, like here:

If you don't have access to it anymore please attach your registration key and in case of pro/edge licenses approximate date of the activation (so we know if it's the earlier or the latter one).
