ok, finally have some time on my hands.

haven't run the DB scan with the trial version yet (just played about with scriptings). Can I already buy the full version or should I wait a new release?

When you open the NoteCaddy trial it gives you a link. Also if you go to www.notecaddy.com there are instructions

I'm doing a color coding now, and would like to minimze everything, but can't. Can that be added?

I just tried it and it worked for me. What kind of error are you getting?

Added it to the list for tomorrow's 1.01 release

I'm going to put the videos on a video sharing site so they're more accessible. Hopefully I can do it this weekend

can you run the note part of the program and the colour code of the program at the same time? will this reduce reliable and cause it to crash?
NoteCaddy Quote
07-09-2010 , 05:56 PM
yikes good question. The two processes don't overlap in any way so it *shouldn't* cause any problems. I did test this on my computer now and it looks like both processes slow down quite a bit - there was no crash or anything though

I'm optimizing this today but what you can do for now is to use the date filter. It will still go through the whole database but it will not do anything for players who didn't play any hands during the time of your filter

is there any way to eliminate yourself from being color coded?

Currently there is no way to exclude yourself from being color coded. I can add it to the list for next week's (7/17) release

SretiCentV can you help me understand what does "sample" mean when color coding ? For example I want all players that I have at least 1000 hands on to be marked with red if they have 3b over 8% ... what number of samples should I use ? does sample equal number of total hands I have on this player?
NoteCaddy Quote
07-10-2010 , 03:34 PM
Sample is how many times they could do something.

To do exactly what you're trying to do, put the minimum sample for "VPIP" to 1000 and set the VPIP range from 0 to 100 (to cover everyone). Sample size for VPIP is actually just the number of hands they have played

Then set 3 bet from 8 to 100. The thing you've left out though is how many opportunities they've had to 3 bet. It is theoretically possible that someone has played 1000 hands and only had 1 chance to 3 bet. That's why if I were you I'd set the sample for 3 betting to something like 10 at the bare minimum.

Hope that helped. Let me know if you have other questions.

Yeah there's no variable for this right now but I've added it to my to do list for the 7/17 release. I can try to get it out before then but I need to make sure yesterday night's release doesn't have too many bugs first.

also...

Version 1.01
----------------------------------------------------------------------
-Added support for MicroGaming
-Added an option "Consolidate PT3 Notes" which will write notes to a single database for each player. This was done because the PT3 hud will show data from all databases and users would see duplicate entries for players.
-Enhanced functionality of date filters on color coding
-Added the ability to run color coding for cash games and/or tournaments only
-Added the ability to minimize application while color coding is running
-Added the ability to configure how long the notification popup stays on the screen
-Added pre flop action "Cold Call/4 Bet" to be used for "backshoving" notes.
-Added ability to filter between cash games and tournaments in note definitions
-Note alerts will now show tournament id for notes taken on tournament tables
-Fixed an issue where NoteCaddy was starting behind other windows

Just downloaded and must say this is a great program.

One aspect I would like to see evolve is the "context of the note" its easier if I give a quick example.

"calls scary river with TP" - against some manic opponents this would be a normal sensible action, whereas against a fish this would be suicide. So it would be good to be able to define a few generic groups based on vpip and prf etc.

Something like this

Calls scary river with TP (nit 0 tag 1 lag 6 manic 12 fish 0)

users should be able to define their own groups, i.e. name and then the basic stats they are based on.. but really Id think its going to be Vpip Pfr Agg% and 3bet stats

And then set the thresholds for those groups.

I definitely see your point and this has been addressed, albeit not adequately. For pre flop you have the tab "previous actions" which allows you to apply a color definition for people who have acted.

For post flop, I don't have this yet. It is on the release schedule but there's no date for it because there are some risky pre-requisites that I haven't applied just yet. Also, I'm not sure if I can enumerate it exactly the way you've shown there...

I will see what type of feedback I get for 1.01 and maybe that will make it to 1.02 provided there are no major problems right now.

Thank you for your feedback

cool looking forward to it.

the reads in the note box itself could use some structure. could you break it down to pre and post flop at minimum?

Thanks.

I dont want to sound thick.. but I have only just started using this.

How do I get the "calls scary river with TP" note to appear in different colours for different player types?

Im looking at the previous actions tab.. what do I press??? (I understand how to define the colour groups but dont know how to use them in scripting)

Will this make a new note for each instance.. i.e "calls river with tp (x)" will appaer on several lines but be in different colours?

Do you mean sort by street e.g. pre flop actions show up before post? If you want a more obvious indication for now you could put your own prefix for the description like (b) calls 3 bets with small pocket pairs

Notes can only appear in one color. I'm not aware of any feature in HEM or PT3 that would change the color of the text - please correct me if I'm wrong though.

I'm going to make a video tomorrow that shows better how to use previous actions. However you use it as a filter, it won't any type of (x) unless you make a definition for each type of opponent.

It's like you said, versus a certain type of player it is note worthy and versus a different type of player, it isn't. So then make a definition for the case that it is relevant.

I think I understand now.

So .. using "called scary river with TP" as the example.. by unticking the player types I prevent that note being made for that player type. So just keep say the nit lag and tag group ticked.

So I could then make a second rule "called scary river with TP against fish" and exclude say the nit, tag and lag

Could you have a look into HH's from HEM.

NoteCaddy dosent recognise FT HH's from HEM.

It does recognise HH from PT3 (HEM uses a slightly different format)

Thanks
