Just wanted to post here that SretiCentV is an amazing software developer, extremely patient and kind, and one of the most helpful customer service person I have ever encountered. His dedication to this program is remarkable, and everyone should jump on it at the price it is currently offered.

On his forum, he even laments that people are "afraid to criticize the program for some reason." He wants more criticism! He wants to hear what isn't working for you, because he is genuinely interested in making a user-friendly program that people will use.

Blah blah blah profit motive, but I truly believe he goes beyond the normal expectations we have of software developers.

I purchased your program (Excellent job)) I would like to print out the user manual and was wondering how up to date it is.
Thanks for your time

That user manual is like my red headed step child. I hate spending time with it but it's freaking impossible to ignore

It is up to version 1.05 and now there is a 1.07 beta so it's definitely a little out of date. That said, everything in there is still valid and you can definitely learn the concepts from it. I will update it to the newest version ASAP

Thanks for the quick reply. Will the updates be on the forum site? Is it possible to have the updated pages marked so after I print out the manual I can print out only the update pages as needed. (Ya I know like you need more thing to do )
Thanks again

Nearly every page is going to be updated with at least some changed screen shots. I think that if you read it as is now you should be able to understand anything and then the updated manual will serve as a reference if anything at that point

Is the new beta available (showing the hands used to make the notes)?

Yes, I sent an email to all customers but here's the link: http://forums.assaultware.com/showth...?113-1.07-beta to the thread that shows all the info. Here's the change log also:

Version 1.07
----------------------------------------------------------------------
-Added a "note history" screen. This screen allows you to search for a player and look at the hands that caused NoteCaddy to take notes on a player. This screen adds a new dimension to NoteCaddy's functionality in that it is now an away from game study tool.
-Modified the way that $cardrange renders the range enumeration. Now it sorts by most profitable hands descending. "Unknown" is also never printed.
-Added the ability to specify player types for both "hero" and "enemy" players. This will allow you to take notes only for certain types of players. For example, you may not care that a fish got it all in on the flop with a straight draw. The "enemy" player type allows for an easier way to take notes like "all in with overpair versus tight player". Before, you had to use the slightly confusing previous actions. Now you can just specify it in the player types tab.
-Added support for Pacific Poker
-Added required notes to color coding. Now you can require that a player have certain NoteCaddy notes in order to qualify for a color coding. This allows for a great deal of flexibility. For example, if you want to make a color coding for player's that fold to steal requests too often from the blinds, you can create a note definition for this and then color code players who have this tendency.
-Added BB/100 as an option for color coding.
-Added a variable $flopposition. This will print IP or OOP depending on if the player was in position on the flop.
-Made a number of small changes to improve usability.

Give it a few minutes and try again. I am working on getting a better validation system going

Is $cardrange sorted by most profitable, best starting hand, or how often played?
NoteCaddy Quote

best = most profitable imo. I took the most profitable that I found on a poker site a few months back so e.g. 66 > a4 etc

I'm not sure what you mean by custom reports. You mean the note history? No record of history was being taken before 1.07 so that's why you need to for that one

i mean when i open notecaddy i need to import hands before being to add custom notes

A couple of suggestions:

1. An option to use abbreviations for the output text of a variable to save space. Example: Small blind becomes SB(in $pfposition)

2. An easier way to mark and unmark hands in the preflop cards section. Something like in Pokerstove(mark whole sections of hands by dragging the mouse, predefined buttons like broadway cards or pocket pairs, percentages like top 30 %, bottom 20 % or between 20 % and 50 %). Right now its a lot of clicking for quite some ranges here.

3. Predefined and saveable hand ranges in preflop cards section. Predefined hand ranges like typical BU stealing range in 6max NL or in 6max Limit. Savable if you want to alter the predefined ranges or create new ones.

4. Tabs for the different groupings(and maybe a second tab for gamesize. Examples: PF/6max or F/HU). This would be great for clarity and for saving space. Dont know if this is doable with the current HEM notes window.

Great program so far.
Keep up the good work!

these are all good suggestions. Number 4 is currently not doable though but the other ones I will definitely make a note of

I would love to make a PLO version. One thing that I am not sure about is PLO hole cards. In holdem there are 169 combinations but for PLO there are thousands. How would the filter for that work? Maybe I need to look at how HEM Omaha does it

Good to hear that you like my suggestions and that you will try to implement it.
No. 4 is not doable because of HEMs note format?
If so I would suggest in their forums to improve their format(HEM notes are EXTREMLY basic anyways right now).

Number 4 is because neither HEM nor PT3 would support that. I have communicated several things related to notes to HEM and they are very receptive but it does take time for these types of things to happen so we just have to wait and cross our fingers

Fingers crossed then.

More suggestions:

1. Setting the number of non occurrences: Right now you only can filter for minimum occurences but a high number of non occurences is also valueable information. i.e. 3bet lite SB (0/1000). So something like "XXX of occurences OR YYY of non occurences)".

2. After doing an update via Quck Notes an option to see the created notes would be nice so you can see if the new created definitions worked out.

Thanks!
