I don't understand the question. I guess my answer is yes. But see below.

I cleared my notes, I enabled logging but I don't know what run the process against my database means. How do you want me to send it to you? I don't know where the log file is and I don't know you email address

I'll go through my original process step by step. Maybe I did something wrong from the start.
  • Went to your website and downloaded your software.
  • Installed it.
  • It required me to pick my database and give my postgresql password. Done.
  • I clicked "start" and it began.
  • According to the program (during and after processing), roughly 2% of all of the players in my database are having notes created for them.
  • When it completed, it said XXXX notes were created for XXXX players.
  • I looked through the thousands of players in HEM by clicking on "Players" where I have many thousands. I right-clicked on hundreds of them and selected "show player notes". Granted, I did not click on all of them, but I didn't find one.
  • I looked at some replays as instructed a couple of posts ago and the replayer showed a LOT of the players at those tables having HEM icons on them like fish, dice, etc. None of these had actual notes on them and I know I didn't put icons on most of them.
  • However, when I went back to "Players" and searched for these players with icons, there were no icons or notes for any of them.
  • I know that if I search for players who I made notes for then I see the icons and the text when I click on "show player notes".
  • I followed your previous directions (clear and log) and also changed the permissions for the program to run as administrator (win7 64) and it is still running but I can click on errors at the bottom and the error for them all were "Error: The key given was not in the dictionary"
  • The number of notes allegedly created is so far MUCH smaller than the number of errors.

I'll throw some uneducated guesses at why I am having this problem:

There is something that I was supposed to configure that I didn't do. Scripting, color coding, test environment?

I can't run HEM and furthermore can't import while running NoteCaddy. I thought for sure that I read that it didn't matter. In any case, this time around HEM is not running.

Not Windows 7 64bit compatible.

Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to be more thorough.

Thank you for the information. From your description it doesn't seem like you did anything wrong but for me to figure out what happened, it will help me a great deal to have the log file...

What I mean by "run against the database" is to just run the process. So from the rest of your post it seems you did that. Could you look in your c:\program files (x86)\notecaddy folder for a file named something like log-6-22-2010.txt? When you find it, could you put email it to me support@notecaddy.com

If it's a big file, maybe zip it so it sends quicker. Text files compress nicely. I appreciate you giving me these details.

Tried it out, but had a lot of odd bugs just installing and connecting. Finally connected to HM database, but just getting timeout errors when I click start.

I really don't have to alter my default timeout settings for postgres do I?

I think the color coding is working correctly for me now. Thanks!

Can you enable logging and send me the log? You shouldn't have to change timeout settings - that wouldn't be very user friendly.

I did a patch removing date filters as these caused me nothing but problems. Anyone who was experiencing timeouts please try again.

Exactly how does the v/p ratio work for color coding? I tried to set up a definition that was 2:1 for the ratio, so I put 2 to 100 thinking it would be minimum of 2:1 and maximum of 100:1. This pretty much put a note on everyone so I obviously did it wrong. How should I do it?

Thanks

You're right. The patch tonight will address this. Thanks for the info

FYI:

Version 0.216
------------------------------------------------------
fixed a bug with V/P ratio
fixed a bug when adding a note to PT3 when no notes previously exist
implemented a workaround that will hopefully allow computers behind proxies to connect.

Also, I uploaded a getting started video to http://notecaddy.com/download.aspx
If you are a first time NoteCaddy user please watch it.

Look like a really great idea. Everything seems to be running fine for me after installing but one thing i noticed on the last version was that after i deleted a couple of the filters when it was going through the notes it was still showing the popups for the filters i had deleted. I also tried to do a test run on a Full Tilt HH out of HEM but it was saying it was invalid, am i doing something wrong with it.
Looking good though.

I tried to reproduce this behavior but was unable to do so. Can you give me some more detail about how exactly this happened. For example

-started import
-stopped import
-opened scripting screen
-deleted definition
-started import

Can you email the hand that doesn't work to support@notecaddy.com? I 100% respect your privacy

I couldnt get the old version to run on my computer so ive updated to the new one. Where as before i could delete the situations out of the scripting tab but they still appeared as notes for some reason now when i delete a situation and then press save any that i have deleted just re-appear.
The HH, im clicking on a hand on HEM and going on view selected HH im then copying and pasting this in to the test environment. It comes up Invalid text file/unsupported poker romm line:
Anyway im just going to mail it over to you to have a look.

Alright I understand the issue now. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will be releasing a patch tonight that will definitely address the issue with deleting hands and then pressing save. Hopefully I can squeeze in time to add a parser for the proprietary HEM format as well.

Another Saturday, another big update:

Version 0.22
------------------------------------------------------
Added support for OnGame network
Added support for PartyPoker
Fixed a few bugs with creating color definitions
Added the ability to export color definition descriptions as PokerStars Note Labels
Fixed a bug when scripting note definitions and not being able to specify heads up or multiway
Fixed an issue when deleting note definitions
Added color ratings option for previous pre flop actions
Added a definition option where a player has to go all in pre flop for a note to be valid
Fixed PokerStars hand parser to work with hand histories with certain special characters

The only other new feature that I am planning on adding before the 1.0 retail version is to support the proprietary hand format that HEM produces once I figure out how to get it to spit out hands that look like this:

***** Hand History for Game 8675309 ***** (Full Tilt)
...

I am estimating that the beta will end July 5th assuming I can get the bugs worked out before then. I will continue working hard even after July 5th obviously to ensure that NoteCaddy is the best possible product. I've had many people try the beta and I am happy about that but now it's going to be time to see if people like NoteCaddy enough to pay for it.

Will buy it for sure.

Anyway there is one thing that I think would be really good: I have ~100k players in database and since I play up to 10k hand/day I also get lots of new players every day.

If I want those new players to be colored I have to run color coding for ALL players and that takes a lot of time with database as big as mine. I have quad core with 4gb ram and whole process take at least 2h... I can't do this everyday.

So it would be really good if notecaddy could just skip existing players ( or players with like 1000+ samples ) and just add color definition for new players.

I want to get the date filters to work. Then what would happen with the color coding is that only players who played a hand during the date range that you selected would get re-color coded. Would that work for you?

Once I am satisfied with the holdem version as a product and I see that my idea is helping players to grow then I will be happy to pursue an omaha version

Havnt had chance to give the new version a whirl yet but it would be a pretty cool idea if you could make it so people can import notes into the scripting tab so that people can share pretty specific notes or even have a seperate forum somewhere so people can post notes or make requests and people can do walkthrough guides how to do them.
Looking very good.

Ive managed to take hands out of HEM by copying the HH to clipboard which then runs in the test environment. Ive run a filter for players that call 4bets with AA/KK but when i run it in the test environment and go into the notes on the players it says next to Call4betwithAAKK: Incorrect hole cards. On the preflop tab/general i havnt changed anything. In the cards tab i have just checked AA/KK. Previous actions i havnt touched and in Actions ive just checked 3 bet/call 4 bet. The Post flop tabs i havnt changed. The hand i run the villain shows up with AA after calling a 4bet so everything should add up.
Ive also had a problem running the one i mentioned before the DonkFold filter.
When i run a hand and then go into the notes next to DonkFold it says player needed to fold flop, which in the hand they did. Im just wondering what it says when the situation is correct?
