You can define a custom stat which does this

FPP Calculator:

Also an FPP calculator would be awesome.
It's a nice idea but not a priority. I think most developers would add stuff like that if they had the time and it didn't complicate things too much.

The box on the graph is configurable with a right click and resizable too. I agree the default needs a bit more information. Anyway, I like your ideas and if you'd be interesting in privately testing/previewing future features let me know.

I'm definately getting this. Great that you're asking for ideas here.

How about a pokerstove like program where you can see your equity against hands/predefined ranges realtime (mouseover on hands palette or something)

This is going to be amazingly useful to me, kudos to you Phil.

Is it going to run ok in vista? (I had mixed results with 0.8, always run as admin and all the controll off, but still recently the programme would shut down whenever I click on the game analysis tab for some reason)

sorry, 0.8 works ok, 0.79 broke a couple of times before the upgrade. The only thing that requires change imho is the use of the local settings. Unless I change them to US (PT does it for you automatically) pEV shows my winnings in my local currency, which is neither $ nor euro, so I have to change all the graphs to BB , which sometimes gets pretty confusing with various stakes.

Apart from that, looking forward to the new one, wtg

PokerEV is looking good.

Since the hand replayer seems to be very feature rich, to make it even more nice, what if you could type in notes for players like you can in the poker client, and then synch the notes with the actual poker client?

Jesus. I will not have time to actually play at the end of the month, all I will be doing is playing around with all the new software appearing

I'll second that; it's a bit confusing to get all winnings/losses displayed with the wrong currency symbol. The simplest solution would probably be to ignore the locale settings altogether and just display a dollar or euro symbol together with the value, depending on the currency used.

Otherwise, an excellent piece of work! Looking forward to the final version.

Not in the first release.

Yes, this is an important feature and PEV will have its own notes system integrated with the HUD and replayer. Both PT3 and HM will have this too I believe.

That's taken care of. The old PokerEV is something that I just threw together for my own use, and then released for free. It was never a properly designed or professional product.

I go back to working on this full time tomorrow so hopefully it's won't be a long wait for the first beta.

I'm excited!

A main point in deciding which Tracker I'm gonna go with, is how much of my system resources are used with the HUD running on multiple tables (I'm playing Party).
The competition doesn't do too well so far IMHO and I pray that you'll be doing better.
01-03-2008 , 04:13 AM
Seriously, just take all the ideas in the HEM and PT3 thread and integrate into your software and you should be set because you have something that they do: EV calculations. Just make sure that it is accurate though.

The others will probably add EV calcs at some point - it's more a bonus than anything. Having a better tracker is my main focus.

I haven't stress tested either my HUD or the competition, but it won't be worse. The overlay system uses <1% resources for 10 Party/Stars/FT tables with no flicker, and the imports are faster.

Performance
I currently get ~170 hands/sec, including EV calculations, as compared to the 50 that the best competitor does on my system.

the whole thing looks great, and obviously the competition is great for me as a customer.

the hand replayer looks incredibly sick, easily better than the competition that i've seen. you're right to prioritise this feature - on a day to day basis this is the tool i will use most. i assume you will include this, but on-the-fly pot odds are a must. if i can do a session review without using calc.exe, you will be a long way towards getting my $$$.

edit to say that useability in general will be the separating factor for a lot of people between HM and PEV.

Is it possible to reduce the number of tabs in main window, it looks a bit cluttered there.
01-03-2008 , 02:04 PM
wowowowow i cant wait for this!
01-05-2008 , 03:16 AM
Hey Phil, how about 'remote session review'? Punch in an IP address and connect to someone who can review your session with you?

This should be fairly easy with the the web services features of .Net 2.0.

I agree, but not because of how it looks now but as you add more features you're going to have a space issues.

You should think about looking into dockpanel suite and using it as your UI.
