Re: MonkerSolver

Hi there,

I would like to use this range:

http://www.propokertools.com/orderin...axordering.txt

How do I do it? It's not entirely based on equity.

Thanks in advance

Yes, only the full version for now. I'll make an update in this thread when the free version is updated as well.

When MonkerSolver auto-updates and I see the entire list of updates, I'm often unsure which ones are new.
Will do.

As of todays update:

Download the file and move it to the MonkerSolver/Omaha folder. Rename it to, for example, %3h.txt (it has to start with % and end with .txt) and you will be able to use it in the omaha syntax as x%3h.

The PJ ranges should work fine as long as you have the corresponding handranking files.

Thanks!

One more question:

I'm trying to add a range for the BB that consists of top70%-top15%.

What's the syntax for that?

I have tried:

70%-15% and top70%-top15%

Re: MonkerSolver

Im finding building a 5max PF tree incredibly difficult. 1.) I cant "remove from all" 2.) adding a betsize to "all postflop w/o donk" is buggy, at certain situations when selecting it it still adds a donkbet. 3.) edit, pick an action, FOLD, doesn't do anything.

Btn opens, add 3/4pot to all postlfop w/o donk, blinds both are incorrectly given donk option.

Re: MonkerSolver

what is the default syntax or whatever to use when filtering PLO with the viewer?

i.e how do I see every hand that does X?

When saving a tree, what do the regret and compress options do?

1) Added.
2) Fixed.
3) I can't reproduce this problem, seems to work ok although I can't think of a reason to edit an action to fold.

You can filter hands by ranks (for example AA to show all aces), and parentheses to filter on suits (for example (A2) to show all Ax2x)

You can't filter on actions at the moment.

Regret is required to continue solving the tree and viewing the strategy where you don't have the average strategy, which is all but the first street unless changed in settings.

Compress will do a slightly lossy compression of the strategy to significantly reduce save size (around 10-20 times smaller).

How is this fixed? By only playing a pure strategy (no mixing) with every combo? Otherwise, I'd like an options where MonkerSolver makes Omaha Trees with only pure strategies. There still are so many combos of every hand that it should be pretty accurate without mixing QhTd4s3d with for example 25% 1/2psb, 30% 3/4psb and 45% checking.

You can't analyze the ranges off-table with the decimals, and you for sure can't do it in MonkerSolver (which is fine, but then I'd like to be able to analyze them somewhere else).

I have one more question. How come that when I build a turn tree, I cant see the EV with different combos on the river? The turn EV need to be calculated with the river EVs in mind, so why not include them so you can see them?

A function that I'd like to have is and "Runouts EV comparison", where you can see action frequencies, EVs, and equities for different turn and river runouts, in PLO

Why would you remove this? Get it back, plz. You'd like as much information there as possible. Range vs Range EQ, Hand vs Range EQ, EQ vs call range, EQ vs fold range etc.

One more cool thing would be if you could specify one combo, and see how the MonkerSolvers ranges changes due to the card removal effects of our hand. Then we get re-adjusted action frequencies depending on our holding.

I have a machine with 64 cores, and 416 RAM, can you please tell me everything I need to do to optimize this?
I set to -Xms62g -Xmx410g. Wbout threads on settings tab? I changed that to 60. But this doesn't seem to be going any fast than on the 10core machine I was using.

Re: MonkerSolver

Just curious what the going rate is to use a machine like that. I briefly looked into cloud computing and didn't find anything that powerful, but it still seemed expensive. Figured building a new rig was the way to go. If you don't want to say that's cool.

Re: MonkerSolver

~3800/month running nonstop. Was hoping to get everything I needed done in a few days on that particular one. And use lesser ones for smaller sims. But unless I'm missing something it's not going any faster, I don't get it.

I've added an option to disable synchronization. You can see if that improves performance.

Could you link the full machine specifications?

I haven't tried the program with so many cores, but in general, you will see diminishing returns for each extra thread. It's not entirely impossible that 10 faster cores perform better than 64 slower ones.

If you have multiple trees you want to solve, you could try to solve them simultanously with ~30 threads for each MonkerSolver process (and also split the RAM with -Xmx for each process).
If your machine utilizes multiple cpus (each with multiple cores), you could try to lock each cpu to its own MonkerSolver process.

PPT supports full percentage weighing, so this was fixed by normalizing and simply rounding the weights to the closest percentage.

I'm not aware of any way to compute minimally exploitable pure strategies. You could of course let each hand select it's highest frequency action with 100% frequency, and I guess it wouldn't be all too bad.

Did you try setting EV streets to 2 in settings?

This is on the todo-list (or parts of it atleast).

This is back, but it seems you are talking about something else. Hand EVs are available in the table next to the frequency as millisb.

Re: MonkerSolver

I am having a weird problem that just started today.

I am trying to run a plo flop sim, and monker isn't frozen.. it says "running" but nothing ever happens. It stayed like this for two hours. I have reproduced it on my two desktops. Here is what it looks like:

http://imgur.com/0gu5Mzj

I can give you the tree, but it is basically 1/2 pot and pot given for all betsizes except donk. It is not a memory issue. Any ideas?

Re: MonkerSolver

Noticed that some bet sizes are being incorrectly added to the tree.

Selected add 3/4 Pot to All Postflop Nodes, and all of the 3/4 Pot Bets showed up as Pot. Clicking any of these "Pot" bets (3/4 ones) and selecting remove all did not remove any of them. Also, when I tried to later add all Pot bets to Postflop, it didn't work, and the 3/4 pot bets, labelled as Pot, remained.

I'm not sure how the last update could have affected the issue. Let me now if the problem resurfaces.

Do you now know the reproduce this?

The "remove all" works the same way as "Add to all", in that it will remove all actions you have selected in the checkboxes from all nodes in the subtree of the selected node.

Re: MonkerSolver

I should be able to reproduce it if you want. Right now I'm running a big preflop sim, so I don't want to stop it to try and reproduce.

If you just select 3/4 pot and add to all postflop nodes, some of those 3/4 pot bets should show up as being labelled Pot.

looking at the far right column, hands it elects to c/r, it would be nice if they could be arranged in a way that weights (probability of flop check)(probability of checkraise), or if I could hover over a hand and see how often it checks flop with that combo
