Re: MonkerSolver

Brackets are now in the full version. It's a bit of a hassle to update the free version after every change, so I'd like to get a few more updates in before synching the free version.

You can see the hands in the range in the table, along with the solution. I guess this is not what you want, in which case I'm all ears on how to visually display an omaha range.

Yes, it will run until you stop it.
10x is somewhat of a guideline. The required amount of iterations is not only a function of node count however. A convergence indicator is on the todo-list.

Re: MonkerSolver

Thanks for the response.

For the saved and then reloaded trees. Where can I see the EV? (All I can see is the status, iterations and nodes)

Re: MonkerSolver

Can MonkerSolver show the nash distance? This is quite helpful for determining how "solved" a given scenario is.

This was not being saved, so you will have to recalculate it (press + thread after loading).

That would indeed be useful, unfortunately it is not possible.

There was an issue which should be fixed in the latest update.

Sure, but you will have to be a bit more specific. You can check out the "Getting started" guide on the monkerware webpage for some information on how you use it.

Re: MonkerSolver

Is node locking possible in a 3-way pot? or is this something that will soon be available?
Can you solve multi way preflop trees on a subset of flops?
There is not much in the documentation.
Is there a sample flop I can use with free version before I decide to buy this app?
Thanks.

How come it's not possible? PioSolver shows things like "Exploitable for: 0.23", etc. I believe that's Nash distance. And if it's not, it'd still be helpful to see how much a strategy can be exploited when facing a max exploit.

Yes, right-click a hand in the result table when running.

No, but preflop trees are reduced through bucketing. It produces very accurate preflop ranges even when reducing a preflop hold'em tree to less than the size equivalent of a 0.1 flop subset tree.

Not at the moment, and probably not in the future either. Priority is on the full version users, and there's plenty to do.

Due to the algorithm and abstraction model MonkerSolver employs, it's not very feasible. It could be calculated efficiently in 2-player postflop hold'em trees, but since that specific case is not a big part of the solver, it's not a priority. There will however be some other kind of indicator of convergence eventually, which works in all cases.

Re: MonkerSolver

This app for sure sounds interesting. I will spend some time playing around with the free version to see how I like it. (I am sure I will like it)

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

I'm not able to purchase MonkerSolver using my AMEX credit card. Can you help with this?

Whenever I've used American Express with Stripe in the past, I've had no problems.

Re: MonkerSolver

Got the full version yesterday. Tried running a PLO sim and it started creating the tables. Let it run overnight. Program was frozen this morning and now it is recreating the tables. Any tips here if it bricks again? I am running it on a 2013 MacBook pro bootcamp Windows 10. Is the performance on the Mac side equal? I assumed windows would be better.

Hi,
Make sure you have 8gb free disk space, and that you have set the -Xmx value in the l4j file. How much RAM do you have? Has any omaha table files been created in the MonkerSolver directory?

There should be no performance loss on mac.

Re: MonkerSolver

I have 8gb RAM on this laptop. Is that not going to be adequate for any flop or preflop sims?

The table creation froze on me again in the same spot (around 25% into turn table creation). No table files were present in the directory. Does it only need the tables for preflop sims?

I changed the xmx value from 6 to 8. I then tried doing a simple flop sim instead, and it said there was insufficient memory. I was having no issues with the free version.

The amount of RAM is likely the issue then.
8gb RAM should be enough for small flop omaha and preflop hold'em trees. Unfortunately not for preflop omaha trees.

OK, I will try it on my desktop that has 16gb. I don't need to change the -xms value, right?

Re: MonkerSolver

so, thinking of ways to make the omaha outputs a little friendlier, it would be nice for instance in the following sim http://i.imgur.com/egxI6S3.png if I had the option to group all 88xx/84xx/44xx hands together since they make up so much of the obvious raise range, it would make it easier to identify the other hands quickly

and maybe it doesn't c/r all 44 combos, but you could put in parenthesis how often it does
-44xx (90%)

Re: MonkerSolver

I am trying to use Pokerjuice ranges in odds oracle format, but monkersolver is not accepting them. Example:

15% 3b
Quote:
(*!RRR:2%6h, AAxxy,JT+), KKxxy,AQ), QQ:xxyy, JJ:xxyy, AK!RRxxyy,xxy:14%6h), Axxy!RRxxyy:15%6h,xxy:15%6h), *!RR![6-]xxyy,xxy:18%6h), OORR, $0G:60%6h, $1Gxxyy:55%6h,xxyz:55%6h,xxy:45%6h), (AQT9-, AKJ9-, AQJ9-)xxyy:40%6h,xxyz:30%6h,xxy:25%6h), (AKJ8-, AQ98-, AQJ8-)xxyy:30%6h,xxyz:25%6h,xxy:15%6h), (KQJ-,KQT-,KJT-)!RRxxyy:20%6h,Axxyy:20%6h), (KQ9-,KJ9-)!RRxxyy:20%6h,Axxyy:20%6h), (4556+,4456+,6654+)xxyy:30%6h,xxyz:24%6h), (3556+,4457+,4476+,4463+,6643+,6653+)xxyy:24%6h, xxyz:20%6h))$nt
any ideas?
