This is a support thread for KOculator, which is a preflop Nash calculator with full bounty support.

Can you explain what the box, 1k chips =...... is when we have cEV mode checked.

responded to this via email, but as this a FAQ, I feel it should be responded to here as well.

The "1k chips = " is important for a cEV bounty calculation. You need to enter the cost of buying 1000 chips at start of the tournament. For example, if the tournament buyin is 500+500+50, and the starting stack 10000 (Thursday Thrill on P*), you should enter 500/10 = 50. In case of a 5$ (2.3+2.3+0.4) PSKO SNG with 1500 starting stacks, you should enter 2.3/1.5 = 1.53, etc. This is necessary so that KOculator is able to compare $$ values (bounties) with chip-denominated equities.

If running a cEV calc with no bounties, this option only rescales equities printed in the main window. It does not change the results. I recommend entering 1000 in such case to have everything in chips (or 1000 divided by current BB amount to have everything in big blinds). But you can only do this if there are no bounties. With bounties, there is only one way to do this correctly - see first paragraph.

Hope that helps,
ucz.

can you tell a little more about the model you use? How does it differ from HRC for example?

And does your program support FGS?

Hi!

I have been using your software but the results dont seem right. Besides, every new sim, for the same situation and variables, the results change. You can see it here:

https://gyazo.com/95285c7111d9f89a2ea09327df08c488

https://gyazo.com/02a8bb4c839cab1f9fe2e84b56205904

These two simulations have the exact input data but results such as risk premium and the the ranges are quite different.
