Re: Bovada Poker Card Catcher HUD

"The issue with the grabber is the setup. If it's configured properly, it works like a charm."

I really appreciate your presence in this thread, and i am not trying to be negative, but for the sake of the product that we paid for, i really hope you don't believe this because it is simply not true. As I have mentioned, I have everything configured properly and the hand catcher simply does not capture hands when I am all in and I beat my opponent at HUPLO tables.

There are also errors in the way the hands are imported into HEM2. If it is an all in pot often times the hand is cutoff at the showdown and I receive an error message when trying to review them.

I think the product is generally very good, but it is not even completely close to being error free. I hope you can take this as constructive criticism

Re: Bovada Poker Card Catcher HUD

Error: PokerStars: No players listed (Hand #2896985709) (Hand #2896985709)

Hi there, I am running into this error when using the card catcher. I am using trial versions of both card catcher and pt4, so maybe that is the issue?

I have tried playing on default and minimum size settings. I have made sure that I properly configured PT4 and have clicked on get hands while playing.

I have read a few pages of this support thread and haven't been able to find anything, but I will look deeper into it and see if a solution has already been posted.

In the meantime, any insight is much appreciated.

Update: So I looked through the thread and couldn't find any solutions. The client is now also periodically flashing. This could be some sort of resolution issue, I am playing on a 22" in monitor with 1920x1050 resolution? Monitor has 2ms refresh rate as well, could explain some of the strobing issues.

Correct. And like I said, we are aware of the HU's PLO issue. Most people are not playing HU's PLO. It's a very specific issue with all-in's. It will be corrected. And honestly, I've never done so much pre release beta testing on a product in my life, and I've been doing this for over 20 years. The program is so much more complex than people realize, and of course, that's of no concern. It should just work. But even with all of that testing, there were going to be anomaly issues that happen in a PC market. All I can say is that it's actively being worked on to resolve any of these. But for most of the market, if you have it setup correctly, it will work. That's what my statement is in reference to. In a thread like this, all your going to hear about is the issues though. And they are all legitimate issues that I'm appreciative to be hearing back on, and they will be worked out.

So what is the issue though specifically? Is the HUD coming up at all? I see your pasted error from PT, but that doesn't give any helpful info.

Can you check what your DPI scaling setting is at?

HUD is not coming up (in fact I can't even click install pt4 HUD for some reason the button is grayed out), and the hands are not being imported to pt4.

Er, clicked the link and still not exactly sure what DPI scaling is at, but the magnifier tool is all the way at the left end of the spectrum, labeled "smaller"

Edit: I took another look at my site configuration options, and in the "Directories Configuration" section, it says "PokerStars does not appear to be installed." Maybe I should install PokerStars and see what happens?

Ok, that makes more sense. The HUD part is greyed out because those are the installed HUD setups when you register it. They are not available in the trial.

So the DPI scaling needs to be set to normal or 100%. The catcher will have difficulty outside of this right now. We're working on adjusting this for non-standard settings.

I don't think you need to worry about the PT setting. If you chose it when you started up, it should all be set for you. Just make sure it has get hands while playing checked, and that the catcher directory is listed in the import directory box for poker stars and you should be fine. The DPI setting is why it's not working for you right now though.

Re: Bovada Poker Card Catcher HUD

Does this HUD keep track of double barreling frequency? That is my biggest issue/complaint with HI, and even though it will always be based on very small sample sizes, still could be a big help to my game when playing vs extreme aggros with high VPIP/PFR

The whole reason we did the HUD at first was because I play on Bovada. I wanted to be able to create my own HUD setup. So basically with the catcher you can create whatever HUD with whatever stats that you want. We include one's for HM2 and PT4 that are color coded to help indicate super passive or aggro opponents also. That's what the install PT4 HUD or HM2 HUD buttons are. I'm going to be adding more detail about that soon as well.

I've been noticing that when somebody leaves the table and another person sits in the seat before the hud stats disappear then it keeps the stats and notes for the first player and just adds to it instead of noticing a new player sat down.

Great thanks! It actually already was at 100%, that setting is called smaller on my display. I think the issue was due to the fact that I am using two displays and apparently DPI was not the same on each, so I checked the box "choose one scaling for all of my displays" and its been working since then.

Right off the bat I'm noticing that there are a few hands that aren't being imported, do I have to have preferred seating off?

Also is there anything I can do to avoid the periodic strobing?

This shouldn't happen. It should recognize the new player. I did recently see it do this once during one session I had. It was for one player, the rest were fine through the session. I'm not sure yet why but I'm going to talk with the developer about it.

It's better to have preferred seating off. As far as strobing, as long as you have players at your table, it shouldn't do this very often. It will happen from time to time though.

I'm probably just a dummy but where on the site do you download the latest versions of this? I bought it yesterday. Also mine still says free trial version on all my tables even though I bought it?

Click download free trial.

The free trial message is displayed by pokertracker, not us. You must still be using their trial.

So I purchased the product cause it's better than nothing, and it sure is great to have a hud on bovada, but 10-20% hands are still not being caught. I am playing microstakes nl 6max cash games.

Re: Bovada Poker Card Catcher HUD

It's something with your settings / setup. And if it's missing this much, then try running the tables in default or minimum size. If you e-mail support with a screenshot of your bovada tables setup they can direct you specifically to what you'll need to increase rate. Right now, I run pretty long sessions with an error rate less than 1%.

Good news is that we're implementing some new processes that should reduce this to near 0% no matter what kind of mods you're running. Our initial goal was to get this working in ideal conditions and then work out from there. So for most people if you have a good setup, it will work really well right now. With people running mods and different tables sizes across multiple monitors, the error rate will increase.

Correct. The developer on this went on a short vacation, so there's more that's been done, but still testing. One of our other developers is working on a new process that should be really good when it's done. I'm optimistic so far at least.

Re: Bovada Poker Card Catcher HUD

Software really buggy for me. Misses a lot of hands, HH's are all messed up, improper actions, stack sizes, sometimes hero is missing all together. I'm running the green background (from the software, not my own mod) and the 4 color deck. It has to be default size or min size? I use Placemint so it changes the size (and default dimensions of the tables). I temp turned it off and ran the tables in default size and it still wasn't working well although I only tried for a short time, I'll try again tomorrow. Does having a HUD cover up parts of the table affect how the grabber picks up hands?

Any way this stuff will get fixed in the future, and I'll be able to run my own table mod and cards, at any resoultion? Holdem Indicator seems to not have any problems grabbing hands for me (with my own Mod + cards, and diff resolution), it's too bad their HUD sucks.

The green should be ok, but placemint can mess it up. I'd try it without. It will run fine in default or min sizing. Outside of that, it can start having problems. Like I said a couple of posts above, the good news is that soon mods and the sizing shouldn't matter. We wanted to have it working on these sizes, and work out from there. Now we're working on a whole new method that I hope to have done soon.

Yeah, 110% it won't work well right now. You can try it, but from what I've seen it won't work well. But like I said in the previous post, soon we'll have a new method that it won't matter the scaling or mods. I wasn't sure what was going to be possible when we started, and it's been a learning process because I play on there too. I wanted my own HUD setup and I'm a customer too. No matter how much beta you do, you don't realize the massive array of setup conditions people have. It's more than I even knew as an online player of 9+ years. But my goal is to have it working 100% in any condition and I won't rest until it's so!

Re: Bovada Poker Card Catcher HUD

So I'm testing the HUD out. I have tables set to minimum size and am using the 4 color deck. I just played a hand where I raised KJo in the CO and everyone folds. Looking at the HH, it picked it up as J8o. Is there something wrong with my setup, or are errors like these common?

edit: was going through hands and noticed it did it another time, giving me the 8c in the HH when I had the Kc.

No, but send me a screenshot of your setup so I can tell you what the potential issue would be and the developer can look at it too.

Great product. Tried using the HUD and it works awesome. My only problem is none of my hands aren't being imported to PT4 so I can't see my hands, stats, results, etc... I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. I've only used PT4 for America's Cardroom and it worked and imported hands fine. Help?
