Re: Bovada Hand History Converter Software
Downloaded my first set of hand histories from Bovada and converted them. Results...
Files Found: 26
Files Processed: 26
File Errors: 0
Hands Found: 884
Hands Processed: 882
Hand Errors: 1
Skipped Hands: 1
1) So two hands were not processed, is there an easy way to find the two hands?
2) Are the two hands left behind in the processed hands directory or are they pushed through unconverted to the output directory?

1) Skipped hands are ones where it grabbed a hand when you were not in the hand yet. Like when you are sitting getting ready to post blinds. It doesn't happen often, but bovada/bodog writes these from time to time.
2) The one error hand would be in the log file. You can send it to me if you want and I can take a look. It's rare an error occurs, but I've seen it happen once with me before too.

Re: Bovada Hand History Converter Software
Anyone else having an issue downloading the free poker book that comes with the purchase of the converter?
As an ADDED BONUS for purchasing the Bovada Hand Converter, we have included a copy of Poker by the Book Vol.I
To download Poker By The Book (vol 1) click the link below:
PokerByTheBook1.zip
I'm unable to click the link to download it. I emailed support 2 days ago and never heard back.

I'd double check/junk spam. Every message is answered, but if a new link was sent, depending on your e-mail provider, it could have been filtered. If you don't find it PM me and I'll get a new download link out to you today.

Decided to track down the hand error. Here's the hand history from the processed file.

Here's the hand error from the log file.
[4/21/2013 1:26:50 PM] **********HAND ERROR**********
[4/21/2013 1:26:50 PM] Hand: #2692600332 Index was outside the bounds of the array.

[4/21/2013 1:26:50 PM] *************************
What you're not seeing here that you would see in both the log file and the processed file is an extra two spaces after 'Qc' and before ']' for line 45. This forums formatting seems to remove the extra spaces. So what's the cause of the error and what do I modify so the BHH converter will successfully convert this hand?

1) goto C:\Program Files (x86)\Ace Poker Solutions\Bovada Hand Converter\Log
2) open the converter.log file
3) Using Find, search on "error". You will see the hand number, the error, and the line number where the error occurs.
4) Depending on how many hands were played you may not see the processed hand history filename. Slowly scroll up the converter.log file until you see FILE START. The line below that will have the processed hand history filename.
5) open Windows Library, "Documents"
6) open BovadaHandHistory\Processed
7) find the processed hand history file you found in step 4 and open the file
8) scroll down until you find the hand number you found in step 3

Cool, thanks Waldo. I will definitely pass this on to the developer. Appreciate it. I'll let you know when it's fixed.

Re: Bovada Hand History Converter Software
Is the EV on some hands broken for anyone else? On all my AA hands that got in preflop and won its showing the EV $ Diff as negative instead of positive which is making my graph show that I am running way above EV even when I'm not.

Re: Bovada Hand History Converter Software
If you're the same person that e-mailed me earlier, I haven't seen this from anyone else. I know the developer is looking at it this weekend, so should know something shortly.
My EV for my sessions works perfect, and anyone else that I've seen as well. Strange, but we'll see what it is. Must be something with flagging the all-in.

Re: Bovada Hand History Converter Software
So I have a question. I am wanting to try this software out, but I can't find a single place on Bovada to request my HHistory.
What am I doing wrong, or does this program extract them from some kinda cache file?

Bovada hand histories are not available until 24 hours have passed since the hand history session was completed.
Steps to request hand histories at Bovada:
1) Log into your Bovada account.
2) Select the ACCOUNT button located below the CASHIER button.
3) Select the Hand History tab.
4) Select the Game Transactions button.
5) Leave the Ring Games radio button selected as the converter only works with ring games at this time.
6) Select the Show transactions drop down box and select how far back you want to see hand histories.
7) Select the Download All button.
It takes some time for the hand histories to download. On a PC, once finished the hand histories will be in c:\bovada\hand history\(your account number)\
Make sure you have some hand histories available before downloading and installing this converter as you only have a 24 hour trial period. The converter also has two tutorials included, one for Poker Tracker 4 and one for Holdem Manager 2.

Also, if you watch the tutorial it explains it step by step. It's less than 2 mins I think in total. It's right at the top right.

Re: Bovada Hand History Converter Software
I already own the Holdem version but I'd like the omaha version, now. Any chance of a discount on the latter if you already own the former?
EDIT - I went ahead and bought the omaha seperate because having unconverted hands bugged me.
I just ran the program and it converted 524 of my hands.
In PT4, 96 of these tripped as errors. They're all "invalid pot size/winnings for hand" errors. Any idea why I'm getting so many of these?

EDIT AGAIN
I think you're not accounting for Hi/Lo games properly. The converted hand only says 'omaha fixed limit'. There's no mention of a low hand anywhere, and I've got the nut A2346 low on the river.

Re: Bovada Hand History Converter Software
Mac question here:
I run Bovada and PT4 on a Mac, and I also have a Windows 7 VM on the same Mac. Can I run the HH converter only in windows and then move the converted hands over to mac to import into PT4? Thanks!

There's only a discount right now when you buy them together. Price point is so low, not much more we can take off honestly.
And you're correct, it's not for hi/lo games. It says this when you purchase, but understandable that it can be missed. It will work with PLO, and fixed only right now. If you send me some recent hi/lo games though I can have the developer look at them for adding them. Don't know when it would happen right now, but will definitely look to add it.
