No man I've never done a tournament ever. I only play cash games on Bovada.

Freakdaddy: I moved my processed hand folder (Im hoping thats what I moved) and that's when I got the new problem up top where it says "no text files have been found in the history folder you specified" when I hit the Convert Folder in BHC.

William: How do I check if the hands are going to that directory? Everything is default so I'm guessing it is. And yes the converter is pointing to the default place.
Yes I beleive the hands should be there already as in Bovada it says "open hand history file", where when it's still downloading it says "download requested".

Sorry guys I'm completely incompetent with computers so I really appreciate your help and patience.
well, my hands go from Bovada into
C:\Bovada\HandHistory\xxxxxxx
and when I start the converter & pick convert file, that's where it points (you can see the directory faintly highlighted in the directory tree.

after they have run through the converter,
the Bovada files go to the path shown by the converter window as "Output directory"
and the new "Poker Stars" files go to the path shown by the converter as "move processed hands to"

then, when you run HEM (or PT)
it needs to point to the processed hands directory (where the "poker stars" looking files ended up.

also, when you run the converter, make sure you have pushed the "select poker system" button & selected which ever software you are using.

that's all I know.

I'm looking for advice on Poker Tracker vs. Holdem Manager.
More specifically, I'm a relative newb, playing micro stakes on Bovada.
I'm looking for self improvement / leak stopage, etc.
Which is better for someone new to tracking software?
Is either better for Bovada history conversion?
Thanks in advance.

That error you mentioned, is only related to tournaments, so there must be some in there. Regardless, maybe start over from scratch. I mean, this is pretty simple once you have the hands. It's just a 3 part process.

1) Download hands from bovada. You said you watched the tutorial a bunch of times, but you don't know where the hands are. The tutorial tells you exactly where they are located. You need to go to that directory and make sure you actually have hands there.
2) Point the converter to these hands, press convert.
3) Import into your database from the converted directory.

That's it. It works perfectly as long as you can do this. One of these steps is not being done correctly.

Try them both, but from a developer stand point, HM2 is better. Also HM2 will allow you to see all hole cards on bovada, where Poker tracker does not allow this. Try them both though, but that's my opinion.

Ok, so new version is up. It looks good, but if anyone has any issues with tourney hands or anything, just let me know. We'll be adding it to automatic updates tomorrow. If you want to get it, just go directly to the site and click on the download link and install on top of your current version.

The latest version (1.0.15b) broke the conversion process for me.

I'm not sure exactly how I had it set before I updated, but I was successfully viewing all hole cards using PT4. I suspect I had HEM selected and PT4 was importing them fine. When I have HEM selected now, about 2/3 of the hands error out (invalid pot size/winnings). I had to purge the imported hands. I would like to roll back to the previous version. Maybe I have a backup of it somewhere.

Update: I recovered my 1.0.13 installer, 1056 of 1068 hands converted/imported without errors. 1.0.15b showed 1066 hands converted, but with about 700 PT4 errors. Unfortunately the $ results are a bit off the mark, even after rolling back. Everything's been perfect for a while till now.

Was there a 1.0.14, and is version history posted anywhere?

Am I missing something? It says free 24 hour fully functional trial but when I installed it, it won't let me try, just buy or register... ?

I am having the same problem. The new version creates errors in PT4 when I try to import my hands. Also, a lot of my 10NL zone hands were being tracked as 5NL when I imported them to PT4.

Arrrrgh, this is driving me insane! I feel like I tried everything and I uninstalled and reinstalled it and now I can't even put in the registration code. I have HEM1 and it imports the files but when I search for the name (hero), nothing comes up. I know a few other people had this problem but I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong even after watching the video over and over.

Can you help me out with this and also reset the serial number so I can put it in again? Thank you.

Ok, I just noticed the files are not always converted either. When I open a converted file, it's just a blank notepad.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I'm only converting tournament hand histories.

Hi Guys,

Sorry, the developer while I was away put up a version I know is having some issues for PT users. I had him revert back, but if you are having an issue, just install the previous setup. I will look for it now and post it. You can just re-install and it will be fine.

I'm away on vacation, so just a little tricky for me to get it, but I'll post it on here soon.

They haven't been wiped, they've been moved to a new location. The processed hand folder is the second folder down in the converter. That's where they are.

This will be sorted out this weekend. Like I said, I'm way out of town at the moment. I'm not sure what the developer did, but I'll post the old setup shortly.

Ok, again, sorry. Just really poor timing at the moment for the developer to have such an error. If you can't wait until Monday, you can install this version and this should allow conversion no problem. Then you can update to the latest when whatever the last update caused an issue.

The converter has been working great for me until a few days ago, when a bunch of hands I converted got the message of "invalid pot size" and some rake error on pokertracker. Then I looked at the converted hands, and for some reason all the hands have rake as 0?? Does anyone have a similar problem?

I emailed support a couple of times, but I didn't get a response yet.

Yes, correct. We had a tournament fix that ended up messing up the PT rake amount (HM is not effected). We plan to have a fix out tomorrow or by Monday at latest. Like I said above, you can download and re-install the previous version for now, and then when the update is out you can go back to the latest.

Are there issues with the serial number registration process right now? Getting a message that the serial I just bought was invalid.

Also, I purchased the tournament edition. Would that be causing the problem with registration based on the latest issues mentioned in the thread?

Hi Zero,

Yes, and no. We took the tournament edition down Friday because of unexpected issues. Me being out of town on vacation has complicated things a bit.

The good news is though that they believe they fixed the PT cash game issue, and the version below has tournament support. So you can download and use this one. This is beta for right now, but it should work for you. If you got a serial within the last couple of days, it will not have tournament support, but this one will.

Sorry about that guys. It was literally one line of code that messed up the PT cash game conversion and this should get it all working again.

Now, back to vacation.

Yes, absolutely. It was a bit of a bad timing thing that one line broke it, but it looks to be resolved. The developer put up one more beta to fix another tourney issue, but this one should be good to go. If anyone wants to download and install, let me know if you see any issues (you should not). This will have zone and full tourney support.

I'm still having issues. When I convert a folder, some of the hand history files are completely blank. A few have been converted but when I import them into HEM1, I still can't find the player name (Hero) when I do the player search. These hands are strictly tourneys.
