I think this may be related to the issue mentioned above, are you also loading PartyPoker hands?

Please send a few HHs to the email above in case it's also PP, we still don't have any histories to reproduce the issue.

Do you still get that error if you uncheck the stack size filter in the SQL import dialog?

Hello,

Since I have used trial for HRC already long time ago I don't remember exactly all the features HRC offers. I am deciding between HRC and ICEMIZER 2. Can you please tell why is HRC better in your opinion and what can you do in HRC that you can't do in ICEMIZER 2?

You can register a new trial if you have not used the program in the last 6 months, so you should be able to simply try for yourself. Make sure you activate the beta version to get the latest features (See Help: Support, Beta).

Hello,

I just purchased HRC. What a fantastic tool. Is this support forum the place to ask non-technical/bug questions? Questions that will help me better/properly utilize the program...

@asunder: Sure, non-technical questions are completely fine if you need help with using the program or anything is unclear. Please check first if the topic is covered in Help: Help Contents though And as a general rule I stay away from any kind of strategy advice.

@mrfunnywobbl: There was actually a HoldemResources mammoth thread in the "Free Software" section, started sometime in 2008-2009ish when it was just the web calculators. I think it eventually got nuked a few months ago because the category was no longer appropriate.

Quick question to make sure I interpret the results in HRC correctly.

Hypothetical situation:
3 handed play, all 100 bb.

BUT raises to 2.5bb, SB 3bet to 10bb, BB 4bet to 30bb, BUT folds and SB shoves for 100bb.

If HRC says the call is -15bb call for BB, is it a call or fold?

If we fold, we lose 30bb in the hand. If we call, do we lose 15 (the HRC result at that decision point) or 45bb (decision point + whatever has been put in earlier) in expected value?

HRC EVs are shown in comparison to folding at the selected decision point.

So in your example calling would lose 45bb total, if folding is a loss of 30bb in the hand and the call is shown as -15bb relative to folding.

Hello, I have some questions about ICM MTT calculations if you wouldn't mind.

Though these calculations are available for both main and beta versions, it is said that this type of calculation is ***experimental***.

I would like to calculate ICM influence on the MTT bubble with, for instance, 500 prize places (as far as I can see there is virtually no limit for a number of payouts and remaining players)

So I'm wondering: 1) Is this even possible? What about 1000, 1500 prize places? 2) How accurate will this calculation be? 3) After i've filled and saved my custom payout structure how I can backup it to use on another computer or another HRC version? 4) What about the button "Paste from Basic Hand Data"? Afaik HHs do not provide any information about payouts.

Thanks in advance.

Interesting that this is brought up now I've done a bunch of research related to MTT recently and there's a big update for the MTT functionality planned in the next 4-6 weeks or so.

Re 1) and 2):
The current MTT model provides a relatively rough approximation of ICM equities. For large fields, the MTT estimates of the current model are typically off by about 3% compared to true ICM Malmuth/Harville equities. There is considerable room for improvement, but it's certainly better than any manual approximation or ChipEV.

As I mentioned above, the current MTT model will be replaced in a few weeks. The main new MTT model is much more accurate and still fairly fast, it reduces the typical relative error to below 0.1%. For all practical purposes, you will have "true" ICM estimates available for fields of a few hundred players. For really large fields the algorithm is a bit slow and we'll probably have to use a less accurate variant there, but at 1% relative error that faster variant is still much more accurate than the current model.

3) The custom prize structures are currently saved in file "HRC/configuration/.settings/net.holdemresources.calculator.prefs". You could simply copy that file to other installations to import your saved structures, but you will override most of the other settings as well. As part of the MTT update, the UI for entering prizes is also re-done and you'll get the option to import/export structures to plain files. If you can wait a few weeks for the new beta, then you may save a lot of time if you plan on entering huge structures.

4) This simply copies the single-table structure of the first dialog page, whatever you previously entered there is copied over to the MTT page.

Ty i Add the beta to my HRC.
So now i have 2 questions about bountys
Have only ICM situations and how i calculate that u can explain me that?
Because in chip ev situation i convert the money in chips.
So in ICM all its money, in the Box Bounty i put the Prizepool bounty or i put the bounty of my oponent in the situation?

And how i can calculate bountys Chip ev situations in HRC or not possible at moment?

Ty to support

For regular bounties you simply put the bounty per player in the box below the regular payouts. For PKO you can define the bounties per opponent on the next dialog page. All bounties are entered on a per-player basis.

It's important to make sure that the bounties in the correct relation to the regular prizes. Probably easiest if you simply enter everything in $.

ChipEV with bounties:
That's just a very rough approximation that players used for manual calculations, I don't think this makes sense for automated calculations. If you just want to do simplified calculations far away from regular prizes then you can enter a winner-takes-all structure for the regular prizes.

e.g.: For the first hand in a big tournament where 1/2 of the buyin goes to bounties and 1/2 to the regular pool, you can use the regular ICM mode: If there are 9 players on the table then the regular prizes contributed from that table are 9x higher than a player's bounty, so enter first place = 9 and bounty = 1.

My trial expires next week. I just checked the pricing. $19.90 every 2 months. I clicked on it and it says as I am in the UK I will be £15.20 every 2 months. xe.com says $19.90 is £14.21.

I wish to know if I will be debited the same amount every 2 months or will it fluctuate with the exchange rate? Am I debited in USD or GBP because your quote of £15.20 might just have been the GBP price a while back when thats how much $19.90 got you? The currency debited is important as I wish to avoid exchange rate fees from my payment method.

Payments are made in USD/EUR/GBP, depending on your country. For these currencies the price of subscriptions is locked in to the amount of the initial period.

All other currencies are displayed as an estimate only, the actual charge will only be made in USD/EUR/GBP. You can override the currency by selecting a different country near the top of the store page.

(I just added GBP to that list after your post though, the price might be slightly lower now.)

That error is caused by mixing 32bit HRC with a 64it Java runtime (or vice versa).

All recent HRC installers for Windows actually include a compatible Java runtime now, to avoid problems like the one above. Simply re-download and install, that should fix it.
