Why do the bubble factors change when you enable FGS? Can you explain the logic behind it as it's quite interesting.

Hi Harambee,

As we said in our previous reply, and in our article What is FGS, and why it is important, with FGS, we actually look ahead into the future - we take position and big blind dynamics into account and get different EVs than with typical ICM.

The bubble factor formula:

Bubble Factor = ChangeInOurTourneyEquityIfWeLose / ChangeInOurTourneyEquityIfWeWin or (EvBegin - EvLose)/(EvWin - EvBegin)

As you can see, if EVs are different, the bubble factors will be different too.

If I want to paste all hands from a session into ICMizer and show me all-ins that were right/wrong, including spots where I should have shoved but folded, is that possible right now?

Hi Kanadian,

Yes, ICMIZER has a great and unique automatic feature – the Automatic Hand Analysis. With automatic analysis, you can load the whole tournament, and ICMIZER quickly looks through all your hands in the tournament, finds suitable ones for analysis, calculates equilibrium ranges, watches how the player played, then shows all the errors and points out the most expensive ones.

The autoanalysis processes not all hands, but only those which match the specific criteria. Hands must be played at a push/fold stage of the tournament, or happen to be played as if they are in the push/fold stage already. Usually, such hands will involve a lot of folds and some short-stacked players. The perfect hands for automatic analysis are those where players are limited only to push/fold decisions and have an effective stack equal to 20 big blinds or less.

Is there a way to reorder the saved ranges, or make changes to a saved range?

Hi Lupin III,

There is no way to edit saved ranges. As an option, you can open the saved range, make changes and save it as a new range.

ICMizer doesn't seem to pick up the antes when I paste a HH from Ignition (PT4). I always have to paste the hand and then manually change the blinds to add the antes. Could someone on the tech team take a look at this?

Thanks

Hi Homeskills,

ICMIZER supports the original Ignition text format. Also, we've added support for Ignition hands exported from PT4.

Please send us those hand history files to support@icmizer.com so we can check them.

Hi, for non-bubble situations in a 9-man SNG, do I just use FGS 0? Somebody told me I should use FGS 1.

Hi Lupin III,

Usually, FGS will play a key role when the table is relatively short-stacked (6 or fewer players), and stacks are shorter than 10 big blinds, with some real short stacks of approximately 5 blinds. It becomes especially important on the bubble of hyper or super-turbo STT tournaments or satellites.

For larger numbers of players or deeper stacks, FGS-based results will not be very different from usual ICM based results. We recommend you to compare results calculated using FGS and ICM (FGS0) models for situations you asked about and check the difference.

Please check our general FGS depth recommendations for short stacks:

3-handed: FGS 5
4-handed: FGS 3
5-handed: FGS 4
6-handed: FGS 3
7-handed: FGS 3
8-handed: FGS 2
9-handed: FGS 2

Could it be possible to manually add categories/folders in the saved tournament structures? I have tons of different payouts saved but they are kinda all over the place. Having a feature where I can, say, group all Bounty Builders together, or Bigs together would be a good feature. Something like custom folders/sub-folders would be awesome.

Hi Corpsey,

At the moment, there is no way to do that. I'll pass your feature request to our dev team. Thank you for the suggestion.

When running an MTT ICM sim, I find that the 'Auto' generation setting produces unrealistic stack distributions for the other tables.

Manual is obviously going to produce the best results, but it's not efficient except for in very small field tournaments.

Custom gives us the most flexibility but I still struggle to find a setting I can rely on. Do you have any suggestions for a "go-to" custom setting that works for most situations?

Hi Harambee,

Could you please clarify what you mean by unrealistic stack distributions? It would be great if you give us some examples with your comments and suggestions.

Is there a way to save batches of analyzed hand histories? Or do we need to analyze them all and go through the waiting game every single time we want to look at them?

Hi Kanadian,

At the moment, there is no way to save batches of analyzed hand histories. However, you can save any ICMIZE result by using the Share this result button in the pushfold table:

Click on the "Share this result" button, and you will get the link that you can copy and save. You can save these links somewhere in any text file or as bookmarks in your browser.

Also, you can open that link in the ICMIZER desktop application. Just copy the link, open the ICMIZER desktop application, and click on the Paste hand history button.

It sounds like you guys save all analyzed hands somewhere then?

Can you guys add that feature? Clicking share hand 2000 times a day is a little extreme.
