No. I also don't think 5 levels of FGS make any practical sense. FGS equity lies on assumption that all players will be playing according to Nash equilibrium in upcoming hands. Yet its never the case even in our current, single hand. By basing stack equity on some unrealistic assumption we are making a mistake of unknown size, and with each additional hand it grows larger.

ICMIZER 2 update will be focused on two new modules (one of which is SNG Coach, which is described in the article) and a huge redesign of ICMIZER itself, so the program becomes even more user friendly and pleasant to use.

The second new module will be announced later this month.

We have some very good news here regarding this question.

We will launch ICMIZER 2 closed beta in second half or this December, 2014.

After the short closed beta phase once we can see that everything is working as intended and fix obvious issues we will launch ICMIZER 2!

So it will be around the New Year of 2015.

It is always hard to predict the precise date with software release because even when everything seems to be planned something unplanned may come up and take considerable time.

Hey UncleTom. Thanks for kind words.
I am more interested in innovations and creating some new stuff than adding features which already exist in other software.

With that said, I also want our product to be the best so some features can become a must have in order to be competetive.

I can say that ICMIZER 2 update is clearly specified and in its current specification there is no new stuff related to what you are asking.

ICMIZER 2 update will be a huge and pleasant surprise for many tournament players because it will improve the process of studying tournament poker a lot.

You simply cannot imagine whats coming yet. Think something big and new, not copying existing features from other products.

Re: ICMIZER support

With what I said about FGS, it will be something which we will be working next after we launch ICMIZER 2.

We listen to our customers. There are some big believers in power of FGS so improving FGS and adding at least a 2nd level is something which we will start to work shortly after we launch this bulky ICMIZER 2 update, which we have been working on for almost a year now, since February 2014.

Like I say, I don't see practical sense in FGS for 5 levels deep, so that feature is very unlikely to be added in ICMIZER, because my goal is to create a very practical and easy-to-use tool which will help you to win more in poker tournaments!

That suits me well. The Icmizer 2 is something I'm really looking forward. I would be extremely happy and committed to test it. Do I just need to wait and contact when the beta is released?

Re: ICMIZER support

I think you need at least 2 levels of FGS to be accurate for 6-max bubbles. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't FGS-1 underestimates the BB's equity because it doesn't account for the hand it will be on the button, while overestimating the SB's equity because it doesn't account for the hand it will be in the BB?

Re: ICMIZER support

Well, its really tricky.

In order to get correct equity based on future hands, we would need to do two things
1) predict how players will play each subsequent hand in each possible branch of potential outcomes tree
2) run it deep down till we reach the statistical ending of the tree, where blinds raise too high and tournament is likely to be over.

In reality its impossible though. We simply can't know how players will play even 1 hand ahead, not to say predict how the tournament will go for 5, 10 , or 20+ hands.

Doing those 2 things correctly would give us our "true" FGS equity of stacks.

The problem is, even the first step of FGS makes a bad prediction about future (assuming players will play according to Nash equilibrium, which is not the case), and adds its own mistake to calculation.

If we add more steps this mistake will grow. While FGS 1 is clearly better than ICM for UTG pushes short stacked, I'm really not sure that FGS of 2 levels is more accurate, since it adds even more unpredictability with its assumption that players will play according to Nash next hand. Maybe it is. Maybe it is sometimes..

At level 5 we are really in some uncharted territory, we are very far from ICM equities, and we are very deep into assumptions that players always play according to Nash, or even FGS Nash equilibrium.

As for practical answer - I do think that adding 2 hands "lookahead" to ICMIZER would benefit the program and our customers, so thats on the TODO list.

Re: ICMIZER support

Hi Q,

I jusr been wondering... Is your quiz going to include advices why this is the best decision? For example: why the calling range in this spot needs to be tight or loose? Or why you should push widely or tightly in this spot?

Regards,
TheRider

Re: ICMIZER support

Soon there will be a teaser Quiz/SNG Coach video available and you will see how it works!

As for why, if you are using ICMIZER for some time, you should be able to say why certain result is so and so.

That is, which factors go into resulting range being tight or loose. Usually stack size, relative stack positioning and bubble factor are the key defining aspects in this process.

Re: ICMIZER support

Quick question, what does the percent below each hand on the hand grid mean? Is the the percent of the total prizepool that I'll win/lose on average if I push?

Re: ICMIZER support

hey Cooozy

Thats the result of subtracting Ev Fold from Ev Push. If Ev Push is greater, result is positive, so it is optimal to push. If Ev Fold is greater than EvPush result is negative, and you should prefer fold.

Th EV is calculated as % of total prize pool. So the answer is mostly yes. But you need to understand where this number is coming from.

Re: ICMIZER support

Ok so this might be stupid question but i just bought icmizer and i am a noob. so i got into a argument with my friend about our latest grinds, there was a weird spot where i took a shot to a 8.8$ 2x turbo and got into the exact bubble with almost exactly average stack.
I thaught i'd just fold myself into the money because mincash was 69$ and my usual abi is about 4$. Then i got dealt kings in the big blind, 6/5 200hand sample utg+1 shoves 1.5x average and then pretty solid player reshoves cutoff covering me by a little. I ended up folding and my friend thaught it was wrong decision instantly, but it has to be pretty close? I dont know how can i calculate that spot, considering i want to count in the calculations that the mincash was pretty good score itself for my bankroll. That makes it little wierd + i didnt know how to create 2x tournament structure payouts, becouse they cost usually like 3-6x buy in. Ty in advance

Hey. It would be best if you simply post a handhistory and a precise payout structure.

However generally I can say that if you participate in tournament where a mincash is a big changer for your bankroll you may choose a very tight strategy. However in this case you become ideal target for abuse for someone at your table who isn't playing with scared money.

So you are at big disadvantage cause you are playing very unoptimal due to your fear. You maximize chance to mincash, but you minimize chance to maxcash.

Thats a general idea about this kind of problem, I can give more details if you post HH and payout.

Hey Cooozy

Unfortunately we cannot accept pokerstars and the only available payment options are the ones which you can find at the website: paypal and credit card.
Paying for software and not playing with PS transferred money is against their ToS.

Note that you can ask a friend to buy ICMIZER access key for you, and send him the funds on pokerstars. I know some customers are using this option.

Sorry for this inconvenience.

Re: ICMIZER support

I am probably asking a stupid question but I cannot see how to use ICMIZER for satellites.

I have a subscription.

I assume that if we have a final table of 5 players with 4 seats being paid, I could simply set up a pay out structure that is equal for places 1-4.

However, how do I use ICMIZER when we have 13 left and 4 get paid? Each table will have different stack sizes etc. etc.

Cheers TYIA

Re: ICMIZER support

Hey TJD

So your question has two parts

1) How to analyze sat with 4 equal payouts: you would need to create a new payout structure in ICMIZER (+ button next to list of payouts) with each payout equal to 25%.

2) If there are 13 players remaining in MTT SAT then in order to take ICM into account you need to use ICMIZER MTT ICM calculator feature. For that switch on MTT checkbox and set up precise number of remaining chips & players (13)

You can learn more about this here:
http://www.icmpoker.com/en/articles/mtt-icm-calculator/

Let me know if you have any questions after you review this article.

Cheers

Hey bbfreak. What kind of room is that?

The most current list of supported rooms is available on purchase page here:

We plan to add support for many additional rooms after the release of ICMIZER 2, which is going to be very soon!
