Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

isn't green zone too wide for double or nothing knowing that MP1 has AA?

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

MP has a 3% range, so that's plenty of other stuff mixed in besides AA. AA is the only hand that's played with more than 50% frequency, which is the threshold to be included in the text range. Select the range, right click the hand grid, select View Strategy, you'll see the other hands there.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

thank you @plexiq
HRC is a wonderful tool!
for me it lacks opportunity to quickly set ranges (I know that I repeat)
in real tournaments calling all-in ranges for Double or Nothing for many not very good players are much wider
also it would be wonderful to have some input/output protocol so it would be possible to precalculate tables for most common situations to have a quick access in real time

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

For an OCD guy like me, an useful feature would be to be able to delete one custom prize structure at a time. Instead of being forced to remove all of them. And also being able to add prize structures to the MTT, STT, etc. sections.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

@LuckyShim:
The custom structures are saved in a json file in the latest Beta, you can edit them in a text editor. We'll also add the option to manage custom structure within the program soon.

@hairyguy:
Commitment Threshold: If a player's raise would put more than that fraction of their starting stack into the pot, they replace the action with all-in instead. The default setting is 1 (disabled).

e.g. If you set the Commitment Threshold to 0.3 (30%), then a player who would otherwise have the option to minraise with a 6bb stack would now replace that minraise with an all-in, as 2bb/6bb > 0.3.

It seams it is configured to use not more than 1GB.
I took a look at config file to add something like "-Xmx6000m" but I don't know where

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

In the calculator.ini file:
Replace the existing -Xmx800m or -Xmx1G line with something higher, e.g. -Xmx6G.

There is a limit to the size of uploaded hands, given your questions before I'd guess that you exceeded the limit.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

Equal deep stacks for 10 players.

Tutorials says that CO should raise less than SB.
11.2% for UTG for 10 players looks wide to me but I think it's possible that it's an optimal range.

It would be nice to see HRC's postflop mechanics. Maybe simplified.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

At this time HRC calculates non all-in pots as check-downs, no further betting is done after the flop. As is mentioned in the documentation, be very careful about the results when allowing flat calls or limps.

You will NOT get sensible non-allin opening ranges this way, I'd strongly discourage anyone from using the program like this. (Either you set it up strictly as a raise-or-fold game, which is problematic by itself, or you are using the check-down Postflop model. Neither would be suitable for a "full hand" calculation.)

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

did some quick perusing and couldn't find anything, so figure I would just post.

I've imported a hand history from a tournament where it went raise, jam, fold to me… I'd like to remove the jam and see what my range would look like vs just the open. How can I do this?

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

You don't need to do anything special in that case. Open the Advanced Hand dialog, import/enter the stacks and blinds, on the bet sizing page enter the sizing for the open. Skip the last page and calculate the hand.

HRC calculates all possible lines that fit the bet sizing description you specify, so you just need to select the right range once the hand is calculated.

Request for feature to be able to save ranges so we don't have to fill out the matrix each time for ranges.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

I'll keep it in mind for one of the next beta updates. The current work-around would be to copy/paste ranges to/from some spreadsheet or text file, this works fine as long as you don't use mixed strategies. But I agree it would be more convenient within the program.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

(Please forgive my wording on this if it doesn't make sense)

In regards to the beta...

When messing with calling ranges from a hand that has already flatted (and I've input the flatting range) it shows/allows us to select calling hands that are not in the flatting range.

This does not happen in the normal version.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

Looks like a display bug, shouldn't affect the results at all. I'll fix it in the next update.

Monte Carlo mode w/ support for up to 10 active players and card bunching should be ready within a week or so.

Yes it's only a display issue and does not affect the results. Thanks

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

I've noticed that if I put my computer to sleep with HRC open (not running sims) upon awakening it tends to have my CPU at 100% and my computer is super slow usually having to open task manager to close HRC. Is this usual?

Does that happen with the beta also, or only with the stable?

I think I've only had it happen in stable, I'll try to see if it happens in beta.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

^ I believe I identified the issue with high CPU usage after sleep/hibernate, a fix will be included in the next update. The current beta is probably still affected to some degree.

Re: HoldemResources Calculator [HRC]

Left it (beta) open and put computer to sleep. Came back a few hours later and woke computer, CPU was at 100% but dropped down to normal speeds very quick so could just be an OS thing? Either way it does not cause an issue like before.

Thanks
