If you haven't done it already, I think you ought to make plugin interfaces so that folks can write their own hand history importers, UI add ons, etc. You might want to look at the currently out-of-development Poker DaVinci for some ideas on that score.

I appreciate you're still in beta, but you really need to put up some documentation even if minimal. At the very least, what sites are supported (I don't want to try and import hands from unsupported sites), does it support just cash games? tournaments? sit and gos? etc.

When you have time please look at importing Prima hands direct from the .dat files. It's real simple; I forget which database type they use but it's a publically available one - may be sqlite. Answer will be on Google somewhere no doubt. Would be a nice touch since you already support Prima but with the hassle of having to get a hand history exported from the client.

MySQL would have been a better database choice imho, not least because most people with a Linux computer or web hosting account, and a few with Windows, already have it, and the config/admin tools are much better. Getting postgres running wasn't much fun and I've been in the IT game for years.

Anyway, looking pretty good, good luck and I hope to see the HUD in action soon!

Hi. I'm working with SpadeEye which has a table opener/datamine function for FTP.

I have activated the FTP HH function and the files are written to my C: drive BUT as "temp" files.

HM will not auto import these. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I'm sure there are a few who would disagree on that.

MySQL has funky licensing issues, see the PokerTracker forums for a detailed thread on what Pat went through with them, in the end, it was licensing not techinical reasons why he went that way and you see very few commercial software vendors depend on MySQL for their engine.

Here's the latest update:.

I've been reworking the db schema for a while and it is almost complete. In addition to providing a lot more functionality here are some key improvements :

* Import speeds which were already close to doubled in the last update are now an additional 30% faster. Today I imported 500K 6 max hands in 90 minutes on my oldish development pc.

* More post flop stat breakdowns. Ie all flop stats when calling preflop vs a 4bet to give one of many examples.

* All reports / graphs / last x hands / summary etc are at least 4 times faster and many are much faster than this compared to the last version.

I'm going to have to release an update tomorrow that simply extends the beta date because I believe it runs out on the 21st but I continue to make a ton of progress on this new build. This is really the foundation of everything else I build in the future so it needs to be done right. Just realize that although progress may appear slow over the last month, things are actually coming together quite quickly and I'm extremely happy with where I'm at with HM. Expect the new build in 1-2 weeks and yes, it will require a reimport. I will provide a way to import or at least export from the current HM Database.

This will be the best analysis / tracking program available and version 1.0 is just the beginning.

i previously had the 0,0,0 import problem

Now, I can't even get an error message. When I select a file or folder, the screen just stays completely blank. The "stop import" button will flash up for a split second, but that is all.

Let me know if I can be of assistance..... i'm desperate to try this thing out dammnit!!!!

I'm having a problem creating an alias. Every time I try to add a player to my alias it can't find anything, basically the list is empty. I ran the player report for players over 10,000 hands and it shows my all of my different screen names and the correct amount of stats, but still had no luck adding these names to my alias. Any recommendations?
Thanks

bug?

did you change something in the change player dialog? i used to be able to type in part of a name, hit enter, and the list would display matches. with the latest 0.35 i hit enter and nothing happens so i cant run any reports on any players

Hi, I did change the way this works. Type in the first couple of letters then pause for half a second and the list will automatically load with matching players as you type more the list gets trimmed down to show new matches.

Did you happen to type in "twin-" really fast and then hit enter before it had a chance to load the list? Try just typing "t" and waiting a second and let me know if it works any better for you.

It's also possible that when I grabbed the old code to change the cripple date I checked in that something messed up so let me know if I need to fix this.

You can grab 0.35 from www.holdemmanager.net - it extends the cripple date a couple of weeks while I continue to work on the big new update.

Could you possibly make it so that you can copy more than one hand history to the clipboard at a time?

I just played 2 HUSNG's consecutively, and holdemmanager imported them in as one session.

Is there a way to manually delineate sessions and/or some fix so I can keep them separate automatically?

Thanks for all the hard work!

By default right now I consider a session being a block of time that you were playing so that is why the results are being combined but in the DB they are stored and tracked seperately and in a future update you'll be able to break them down individually more easily (as well as see tourney income graphs)

I run HM on my processed hand folder from PT, and I haven't deleted any files in there in a while. Every time it imports, it claims to reimport a huge amount of hands, but it's obviously not really doing this because it's going like 600 hands/sec.

For some reason I am getting two seperate lines:

.25/.5nl and .25/.50nl.

These are both from 50nl.

Broken down into 13k and 43k hands.

I play at Stars and Tilt.

Is there a way to combine this into one row?

Have you been using the same database for a long time? This was an issue in earlier beta versions that was fixed but old imported hands would still have the 2 game types for the 1 stake.

The next big update won't be too much longer - maybe a week and I hope to have these recent issues people have brought up all fixed. This new update requires a reimport of hands but it will read from an older HM DB if you have not kept hsnd history files.

I am using version .35b.

I upgraded to the new beta but haven't deleted my DB and rebuilt.

I will try that.

I'll be adding "vs player" to the filters tab possibly in the next update. Jumping right from the Vs Player Report to the Hands list with this filter auto selected will be coming as well.
