Much like the HM3 IGN Hand Grabber you asked me about in your support ticket, this can not be tested by customers until some time after our new licensing system code is merged into the software and HM3 has been released.

NoteCaddy (and the IGN HH Grabber) is not yet ready for beta testing in HM3. It is still in private internal alpha testing. That tab in the popup had to be added with a url link placeholder in preparation for our upcoming release and the HM3/Apps licensing system. Some time after HM3 is released we will announce that NoteCaddy is ready for beta testing and that popup link redirect will be updated to go to the Holdem Manager site instead.

No decision has been made yet about HM Apps licensing for HM3 except for LeakBuster which will not be a part of HM3.

I find it frustrating that HM2 can't support any MTTs on ipoker (william hill). There is an open ticket for a long time HM-8884

this is a big network can we have an ETA?

Unfortunately that and a few other tickets had to sit off to the side while the HM2 devs focused on getting our next update out with PokerStars Third Party Tools Rules compliance. I bumped it now with our QA/Testing Manager and he said he will get this up at the top of the list after the next HM2 release to see if it is something we can fix on our end, or if it is something like their recent high resolution monitor bug that they have to fix on their end that causes the table buttons to stop working with the HM2 HUD.

Hi, I need some help.

I was using the trial version of HEM2 (older version so I can run it with Ace Poker Solutions Card Catcher) and I upgraded to the Small Stakes version of HEM2 today after my trial was finished. However, upon entering my licence code, my entire database just disappeared. What happened? Is my previous hand history just completely gone? I went into Ace poker solutions folder (destination of Auto Import folder) and couldn't find HH. Please help me.

HM2 archives any auto imported hands. All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\MM\DD. It is configured in the Site Setup - Auto Import Folders menu.

Open the Database Manager and see if you are maybe somehow on a new/different database.

If you are still on the same active database:

i) Please try to vacuum/analyze and reindex your database.

ii) If you continue to have problems, try the following:

Try creating a new DataBase and import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB.

If the new database seems to work properly, it sounds like your database might be corrupt. Please continue to use the new database and import the rest of your hands using the steps above. This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created) and edit any tournament results if necessary. I recommend keeping at least the most recent 2 or 3 backups in case the most recent one does not restore properly you can try the previous backup.

Here is a FAQ explaining how to backup your database and all settings in one easy step.

iii) If none of that helps please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to us using the 'Contact Support' link.

Thanks Fozzy.

I found my HH in the HEM2 archive file. However, how do I now import all of that into HEM and restore all my HH back into HEM2? I basically clicked on 'hands importing' --> import folder --> imported the entire folder and for some reason it only came up with 14 hands instead of the 15k+ hands I have... (when I click on hero next to the database button on the bottom right of the software, it still says hero has 15k+ hands)

Follow the instructions in my previous post to send us the hands/files you are importing and include screenshots of what you are importing and what you see in the reports vs the player select menu.

When sending any files please zip them (right-click > send to > compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then click 'Share' > 'Create Link' > Copy Link' and right-click > 'Paste' the download link directly into the support ticket email. If you have any problems with dropbox try using filedropper.com or google drive.

It's quite ridiculous that I never had an issue during the trial period. But the moment I buy the licence everything just goes haywire. First I access my database nor import it. Then I can't even connect to HEM because I can't connect to PostGres and Hhave to manually investigate the problem? My whole day is just gone like that...

Is there a difference between the term luck adjusted winnings and ICM ADJ? I just downloaded hm3 for first time and am looking at the tournament results graph but it seems when I click the show "ICM ADJ" box it doesn't display the proper amount for what I figure would be the luck adjusted winnings.

We changed the name in HM3 to be more in line with PT4, and we also use their EV formula's which were different than HM2 in some situations.

If you think a hand is being calculated wrong send us the hand and screenshots of the reports with a detailed description of the errors. Right-click the hand in a report and export it, then zip/attach it to a support ticket with the screenshots, etc.

Please create a support ticket via the Contact Support link and if there is a forum thread with additional information please link to this thread and let us know your forum name if there are several people in the thread.

None. Street By Street HUD, Live Pot Odds and the Line Taken stat were a part of the Live Tracking feature. It only ever worked at IPoker and PokerStars. It broke on IPoker after they introduced their new beta (now official) client. We had to disable it completely after PokerStars introduced their new Third Party Tools rules as it was used to power some of the other features which are no longer allowed on PokerStars. We have no plans to bring this feature back or design any new features for HM2/3 that would not work at all supported networks/sites.

Hi there got a question about holdem manager 2 as i been using it for a long time. I used holdem manager 1 years ago back then but that was with a desktop.

I have a dell xps 15 9550 for a few years already. This laptop bought brand new years ago. It has i5 hq 6300 processor so its a quad core. Back then i bought that because always suggested quad core for laptop that play poker with holdem manager 2. It has an ssd and 8gb ram. Uses windows 10 pro. Whenever i play on it, i have laptop plugged in and screen brightness is max.

Now let say i want to use it on battery. If i do this, i get max 1.5 hour on battery. Is this about right? The thing is articles say a laptop like this when using intensively... should give you 4.5 hours. Every single laptop i ever owned... the battery life was no where near what it stated. Example state 8 hours, i get 2 or 3 at the absolute max. But most laptops i just don't get more than 2 hours max.

Now most ppl play poker with hem2 on laptops right? Do you know how many hours most quad core laptops get while playing on stars and party etc with holdem manager 2 on? Are there ppl that get at least 3 hours on battery? I dont know how this is even possible. Because holdem manager 2 is very intensive correct? So basically having a quad core laptop makes it fast enough to use it where it minimizes lag... but it doesn't help with battery life right? Thus no matter what quad core laptop you buy, you will never get more than 3 hour battery life at the absolute max? Im getting 1.5 hours. Even when i dont play poker or have hem2 on... say i web browse etc... i get no more than 1h 45m at the absolute max.

Do you have any opinions on this? Such as how does one get more battery life while using holdem manager 2 while playing? I did also make Power mode to Best Battery life and screen percentage only 25 percent. I only get 1.5 hours of battery on it. I also connect it to 2 monitors that are my main monitors as well.

But does an i3 laptop get much more battery than an i5? But what if its a quad core i3? Could you get at least 3 hours of battery on it? The reason i ask all this is because where im located, there are power outages here a lot. So i want to be able to get as much battery as possible on my dell xps 15 9550. I mean i hear ppl on forums saying back then they only get 5hrs on their xps 15 9550 and upset they dont get the 8 hour advertised. I mean... if i could get 3 hrs on it while playing with hem2 on ... that would be great. But do you have the numbers on this? So if its not a quad core laptop, its possible to get 3 hours plus when having stars/party and hem2 on? I know when you use quad core, you sacrifice battery life. Does that mean no one gets more than 3 hr max then i assume with their quad core laptop... but its more like 2 hours or even less?

That is not something we have any testing/data on. I can tell you the laptop I bought to work (when not on my desktop) on 5 or 6 years ago didn't get anywhere near the claimed battery life. I never played poker on it, just support work answering emails, forums, etc a few hrs a day a few days a week. After a year or two of on and off use the battery wouldn't even last an hour.

Hi thanks for the response. So you don't know if any settings that could be done in HEM2 where it would use less power than right?

Also i checked the battery life articles where it compared laptops and they showed how certain laptops last x hours in light... versus medium load versus intensive load. So whenever you play poker and have holdem manager 2 on... its pretty much as intensive as you could possibly get on your laptop battery right? Like what those articles consider intensive... the holdem manager 2 is probably at least 2 or 3 times as intensive especially if say you are playing at least 12 tables?

Do you know of others who mention how long they can get on their laptops while on battery while playing with hem2 on? But you do agree if you play say 12 or more tables but don't use hem2... you would certainly get more battery right... because hem2 is very computer intensive and uses lot of resources?

There are no settings in HM2 that affect how much laptop battery get's used.

There are more intensive things I am sure but mass tabling poker and running a postgresql database to track allof that play is very resource intensive, much more intensive than normal PC gaming or simply browsing the web or streaming netflix/youtube type activities.

Fozzy thanks for the response. One other thing i want to ask.

Do you have experience with backup power for the laptop such as UPS? For example i read online that you can get these on amazon and the ones that are 1000v or 1500v can give you up 10 minutes to maybe 30 minutes. But from what i read... they are talking about a desktop and monitor right? Thus a desktop and monitor uses a ton of a lot more energy than a laptop?

Do you know if i get a UPS, how long would i get on it at least if i use it for my laptop and only connect my laptop? For example if i get a 1000v one... assuming i plug my laptop to it when its down to say 5%, and then charge it while playing, i would at least get a full charge to 100% before the ups runs of juice? At the moment, the dell powerbank i have... when i let my laptop go to around 5%, if i connect the powerbank to it... it would charge to max 80% before it runs out. So basically say i have a power outage... i can use my laptop on battery for 1.5 hours at the max. Then use it while its charging to 80% max... it takes about 1h 45m to charge but it doesn't charge fully. Then when i use the laptop on battery, i get maybe 1h 15m at the absolute max. So basically the time i use my laptop on battery till i use up the powerbank and use up my laptop battery again... i get around 3h 45m to 4h 30m with it.

Thus if i get the same powerbank... an extra one... it would probably give me another
2h 30m to 3h on it. But do you know what about a UPS?

Because when i play, i have to have HEM2 running.

I have no personal experience with battery backups, or laptop battery life, and neither are anything we ever tested internally in regards to HM2's affect on those.

Laptop batteries are like phone batteries, or anything else these days. They have a finite number of charges. After so many charges they can no longer hold a true 100% charge, and they amount they can hold slowly decreases over time.

How to Increase Your Laptop Battery Life

edit to add some tips and suggestions from our QA/Testing Manager that uses a laptop as his main work station:

Quote:
just get the laptop/ups that performs the best and that should do the best with hm2 too.

smaller databases / simpler huds / less running apps will use less cpu than complex ones and that will result in improved battery life too. also stay on home tab and dont continuously refresh reports.

also disable antivirus if its something that uses a lot of cpu and other background apps, browsers, media players etc

Fozzy thanks a lot.

One other thing i want to ask and i asked this last time.

But i want to clean my HEM2. What is the name of this process? I previously had vacuumed it i believe? i dont know the term but it took like 10 minutes max. The thing is my ssd hard drive which is 250gb... is close to running out of space. Have about 30gb left. I know this has to be holdem manager 2 as i rarely instead anything on computer and back then it i had more than 150gb available on my laptop a while back.

Is there a way to find out how much gb holdemmanager2 is using on my computer? It has to be at least 50gb at the absolute minimum right?

And the process to do this... it would make my hem2 database go from say 100gb to probably like how much? Thus i never did anything with it. So i do this, it removes old hand histories and results? If so from how long ago? That would also mean players that have say 3000 hands on... they will now have how much? And how often should this be done? I think i should do this since i have only 30gb left in my ssd? And how long would this process take? Could i do anything on my laptop while this process is happening?

Also a related question. I want to backup my windows 10 pro laptop and read online that there are programs like AOMEI and macrium for that. Now i never backedup hem2. Does this process take long? And if i back it up to an external hard drive... let say i would do a clean reinstall of my windows 10 computer. If i start it up.. then install my hard drive from the external... i know there is a way where it copies the backup image so it looks exactly same like your laptop did before it... thus desktop icons and everything... would i still have the same hem2 database such as results and xxx hands on the players on my database? So this backup of hem2 is different from the image copy using AOMEI and macrium right? Because a while back when i had to get a new computer, i did not back anything up. So on new computer, i had to install hem2 and do all the configurations again for every site and everything. Then of course when you start it... i have no hand histories or hud or anything on anything etc.

If you open the HM2 DB Manager it will tell you the size of the PSQL \data folder, which you need to approximately double for total database size.

To find out visually, what is taking up the largest blocks of space on your hard drive, I would suggest you try this free software - http://windirstat.info/

You can use NTFS compression on the DB folder in roaming and the postgres\data\base folder to make it smaller - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/251186

You can put your postgres data folder and the HM2 database parent folder on a different drive but if you move it from a SSD to a HDD you will suffer a decrease in performance - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...e+or+Partition

In HM1 there are a lot of tables that deal with a specific hand played by a specific player. In HM2 we don't have these tables, instead, for player related hand data, we use a flat file approach. Each player has his own folder and each file represents a single day. Each line within the file is a tokenized version of a single hand with incredible amounts of detail. Your overall HM2 spaced used (DB + Files) is about 2/3 of HM1 and we store probably 2-3 times as much info plus it can be accessed many, many times faster and allows us to do some things that wouldn't be possible otherwise. If you don't want the space in your Roaming folder due to limited C: file space, we do give you the option of storing this data anywhere when creating the database.

General rule is 1 million hands = 10 GB.

In reality it's: 1 million hands
HM1: 6.8 GB
HM2: 4.3 GB
PT4: 13.6 GB
HM3:* 6.0*GB

So with a 10 million hand database you need a SSD of at least 60 GB (Windows) + 100 GB = 160 GB. We use 1 million = 10 GB (instead of 6.8) because when you want to perform a vacuum/analyse or backup/restore a database it will require a LOT of disk space to perform such a task.

We recommend you maintain more than 20% free space on your system drive. Please see this FAQ to clear up some more free space - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...+of+Disk+Space

Please see these guide to optimize your SSD:

All you can do to reduce DB size is vacuum it, or purge/delete hands from it then vacuum it. Most people don't maintain a lifetime DB, or of they do they use a smaller DB of the last 3 - 6 months of hands for live play when auto importing and a separate lifetime DB they manually update from time to time.

HM2 backups behave like an image backup but they are technically different. It backs up your database and settings that HM2/PSQL can restore to a new machine/install. You can also backup everything manually which I recommend, and which is more important IMO because sometimes backups or restoring backups can fail then your only options is recreating the DB from the original hands and manually copy/paste of the settings.

Please see this FAQ to transfer/backup data - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...dem+Manager%3F

This will ensure that you have your hand histories and HUD saved to import into a new computer, and as a backup to restore in case of an emergency. I recommend you do this at least once a month and keep the last 2 or 3 most recent backups (and your \HM2Archive folder) stored on an external drive and/or cloud storage site like dropbox or google drive.

Right now i tried to log into hem2, got an update and did it. Then it ask for me activation code... i click next... then it shows an activation code that is my code, i click next and it say no activation remaining. I log into my holdem manager forum account and log in. I checked my license key... it shows a date from a few year ago... thats the same license code as the one that was shown so that mean it was same key.

So what do i do now? Previously when i had similar issue to this, it ask me for my license key and i go to my holdem manager forum account and copy/paste the code. But here... whats the issue?
