https://www.enterprisedb.com/downloa...nloads#windows

No, I have personally only tested as high as 9.6 and 10.5 I think.

Upgrading from 8.4 to 9.3 could improve performance depending on your machine and database size/tasks. HM2 only officially supports up to 9.3. Anything beyond that may not work properly when you import/export, purge, backup/restore, etc.

Here are instructions if you want to upgrade. Make sure you backup your HM2 databases locally before you reinstall PostgreSQL. You should be able to restore an 8.4 database to 9.3 using HM2's build in Database Manager.

Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer (even if you use a different web browser).

Please note that reinstalling PostgreSQL will mean losing all your old data. If you have access to HM2 and your database was not corrupt then please follow these instructions for backing up your database as a precaution in case you cannot reconnect after reinstalling PostgreSQL.

If you cannot access the database in HM2 then you can backup your database using this method but if your database was corrupt then the best solution is to reimport all your hands from C:/HM2archive folder or if your pokersite supports it you can request all your hands and summaries and reimport them as restoring a corrupt database will just restore all the problems you had.

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.

2) Delete the \PostgreSQL\X.x\data folder that is left behind.

3) Delete the sub-folder(s) in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager\Da tabase (XP - c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager\Database).

4) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

net user postgres /delete

After you click 'Enter' for the code above also do that same for this code:

Code:
sc delete postgresql-8.4
and click 'Enter' again.

5) Restart your PC

6) Install PostgreSQL 9.3 from here.

7) Once installed you should disable the postgresql logging as instructed here.

Please follow this FAQ to fix the problem with windows moving off screen:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...eyboard-trick/

If you continue to have problems:

If you want to reset the HM2 to default size/position:

- Close HM2
- Open your holdemmanager.config file from C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager in a text editor.
- If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'holdemmanager'.
- If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+
- Look for the 'WindowStates' section and delete this line, which should not have any name between the first two quotation marks, in that section:

- Save/close the file and restart HM2.

Hi Fozzy, thanks for the replay. When I made the screenshot, notice that there are 2 screens and HM2 is on the second one, open the laptop to see it if it is real and just changed the Windows 10 settings and all is good now. I though of deleting the post, but maybe someone would find it helpful and did not do it.

If you continue to have problems:

Please follow the instructions in this FAQ and reply back with the answers to the 12 questions in that FAQ. Those answers should help us quickly identify your issue, skipping questions will just mean we have to ask again in the next email and will delay the resolution of the issue.

Please enable the Settings > Feature Logging > [x] 'HUDStats' and 'FastPoker' option and increase the Max number of log files option to 10 so old logs are saved with date/time stamps. You can also enable this before you launch HM2 from the Start Menu.

Please reproduce the problem and:
- Attach a screen shot of the table/desktop
- Try to include the Active Sessions tab and/or Sessions Report that also includes your windows clock and poker client lobby clock in the screen shot
- Save a copy of the original Hand history for the table with the issue
- Close HM2 and send your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing.

With all the above information we should be able to narrow down what is causing the issue. If all the information is not included we will need to email you again to request it.

Re: Holdem Manager Support

What do you want to do with the exported 'database'? Import the hands to a different tracker?

The easiest way to import any hands to a different tracker that HM3 auto imported is to just import them manually from the C:\HM3Archive folder. You can also export the hands in their original format from the Tools - Export Hands... menu.

There are also options under the Tools menu to backup the HM3 database if you want to backup the database and restore it to HM3 on another machine.

Re: Holdem Manager Support

firefox or 2+2 hates me and I can't quote or 'go advanced'....

That sounds like a HM2 licensing and/or converter bug from the APS IPCC but I am not sure without seeing some hands/logs at a minimum. I don't have a current APS Card Catcher or Converter license but I wouldn't mind seeing the hand history files.

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and send your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing, with a link to this thread and your forum name.

Please zip and email the logs and problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to us using the 'Contact Support' link.

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\MM\DD. It is configured in the Site Setup - Auto Import Folders menu.

When sending any files please zip them (right-click > send to > compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then click 'Share' > 'Create Link' > Copy Link' and right-click > 'Paste' the download link directly into the support ticket email. If you have any problems with dropbox try using filedropper.com or google drive.

Disclaimer: We can not provide technical help for unsupported sites/networks as we do not design our software to work there or test there with all of the third party tools. If you have any problems with HM2 using third party tools, to use our software with unsupported sites, all support will need to be handled by the third party software's support team.

Will you be supporting Run It Once when they have downloadable hand histories? They won't allow a hud but it'd be useful to be able to import hands for analysis.

That is the current plan. Phil addressed this in the official RIOP thread. They are working with our management and developers to try and add manual import support. I have no idea how long that may take.

Is there a way to resize the general PopUp windows in HEM3? Basically, I am running WIN 10 on Bootcamp with 3200x1800 resolution, so the popups are a bit small.

There is no 1 click solution. You will have to increase the font size for all the stats/text in your popups. If you open the HUD - HUD Editor and click the 'Popup Groups' button in the right corner you can increase the font size for all 'Group Items'. Select one of the Group Items then click Ctrl+A to select them all then edit the Item Properties - Font.

Re: Holdem Manager Support

Thanks Fozzy, will try it out later and let you know if I have further questions.

One more question though I have is, can't you guys change the way HEM calculates EV? For example, if I 4bet and get 90% of my stack in preflop with 70% equity and the remaining 10% of my stack with 10% equity, HEM will calculate that I should have only won 10% of the total pot. Instead, it should be: 0.9*0.7+0.1*0.1

And then, let's say I see the flop multiway but fold and the other two players go all in. HEM3 won't show the equity I had on the flop vs the other two players, because I didn't go all in. However, I would like to see that, can that be adjusted anywhere?

The first thing I need to mention is that HM3 calculates EV differently than HM2 did. We now use the PT4 methodology.

In a hand where a player is all-in preflop, but other players are not, net adjusted results are not calculated. When one player is an all-in preflop and other players are not, then they have the option to act postflop and this means that sometimes one of them will fold. Having the option to fold after another street is dealt means that in the long run there will be more strong hands which get to showdown and less weak hands. If we were to calculate net adjusted results in hands like this it would introduce a systematic bias (because there will be more known strong hands) so we exclude all hands like this from net adjusted calculations.

EV is not my best subject but I have an old canned reply with a link to a forum thread about it and some quotes and cliff notes about why Street by Street EV is not something we do:

Why "EV by street" is a bad thing:
Best explanation here - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/3rd-...er-sect-7.html

Summary of that thread:
Example: - you have AA, you raise to 80% of your stack, donkey calls, flop comes K83 rainbow.
- you then go all-in, no matter the flop, because you're committed.
- out of 100 times, 88 times donkey folds.
- 12 times donkeys calls with a set (33/88/KK).
What shall EV by street bogusly do? It shall do no computations for the 88 times where donkey folded--> "no more calculation".
What shall EV by street do the 12 times where donkey calls with a set? "Show that donkey sucked out and that you got unlucky".

So although you ran obviously uber-good by having donkey folding 88 times out of 100. EV by street focuses on the 12 times where donkey hit his set and tells that you're running below EV.
This is a well-known gambler fallacy. And this is why "EV by street" is completely bogus and should not be implemented.

Note: Tristanblue writes "it's precisely because EV by street does nothing to your adjusted-graph on these cases where the opponent folded that it is completely bogus."
But what if your opponent never folds? Suppose there are two players A and B.
Player A has AA, B has KK. (both have $100 stacks). They commit half their stack preflop and the flop comes AK6. Player B (KK has 1 "out") to win the hand.
If I would play this hand I would always make sure I'm allin on the turn.
However Player X always commits the rest of his stack on the flop and turn *except for one dollar*. And he commits on the river.
Of course, 4% of the time, the rivercard is the case King. Player X's EV Diff is always 0.
My EV Diff is -$4 (96 out of 100 times) and +$96 (4 out of 100 times)
So our EV graph actually looks the same after 100 of these hands.

Please update to the latest beta version - https://www.holdemmanager.com/Downlo...pdate_8571.exe

- Then, right click the file and run as administrator.

If you continue to have problems:

Please enable the Settings > Feature Logging > [x] 'HUDStats' and 'FastPoker' option and increase the Max number of log files option to 10 so old logs are saved with date/time stamps. You can also enable this before you launch HM2 from the Start Menu.

Thanks, I simply rebooted my computer and it works now. What's the best way to keep HEM3 updated? I had to format my computer and it says that I am using the most recent version but the time filter is now on the very right, used to be on the left. Not sure whether you guys changed it again?

I changed the size of the font as you suggested which worked out great. Any way to also increase the size of the tabs?

https://gyazo.com/7d3fbe1c1a6fc0d6ec80ca3943e46602

Furthermore, will HEM2 Huds work perfectly fine in HEM3? I want to buy a customized hud but need to be sure that it's gonna display just everything the same way it does in HEM2. I don't think people offer HUDS for HEM3 yet.

The check for updates system is disabled because we are in the final push for the release. Use the Send Feedback system in the software and ask for a link to the latest version.

HM2 HUDs should import without major issue. The only HUD import issues I have seen once once or twice lately are HM3 HUDs/Popups that are slightly larger than their HM2 versions (vertical/horizontal spacing issues) and one guy's popups that don't import empty cells properly. In the past we had occasional stat name mis-matches but I haven't seen that reported in 6 or 12 months.

We deal with all of these issues on a case by case basis. I can't promise a custom HUD will import fine but if it doesn't we will do everything we can to get it to import right. Anyone making HM2 HUDs should have a HM2 license and therefore can sign up to the HM3 Beta on our site, ask for the latest update patch, and make sure that their HM2 HUDs import to HM3 before you buy one.

Re: Holdem Manager Support

I just created a new stat in the HUD Profile Editor. As you can see the right number has some weird format, the stat is kind of displayed on top. How do I change that?

Actually, is there a way to make sure that any new stat I create will use the same formatting as the ones I already have? I am adjusting the HM3 Advanced HUD for my needs.

And lastly, isn't the HUD Profile Editor pretty much the one, that PT4 uses? Shouldn't then PT4 HUDS work in HEM3 as well?

Any new stat uses default formatting properties. In the 'Group Items' window just pick an existing stat, then click the 'Font' field to select it all, click Ctrl+C to copy the details, then switch to your new 'Group Item' stat, select the 'Font' to highlight it and click Ctrl+V to copy the properties of one stat and paste them onto another.

Yes, it is pretty much the same thing but PT4 HUDs can not import to HM3. They would have to be recreated from scratch. The HUD profiles the 2 HUD Editors export/import are different and HM3 also doesn't have the ability to support the custom stats that a PT4 HUD profile could contain.

Hey, it looks like I am doing something wrong

So I selected an existing stat as you recommended, went to the Font field next to it on the right side but I am unable to select and copy them.

I tried clicking CTRL+A to select them all, but then HEM selects all the items in the Group Items tab, instead of what's inside the Font field
