For those of you with antivirus issues, you might want to try Avast. I've been using Avast for a year, 40-50 tournaments a month, running HM2, without a single problem.

Here is what I do:

I had problems with Avast messing with any site downloads or updates, or opening the first game of the day, but you can turn it off for different time periods, anything from ten minutes to indefinitely. After someone in these forums told me the following, there were no more problems. I have never had any issues with Avast and HM2.

1. Left-click the tiny triangle on the right-had side of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

2. Right-click the Avast logo.

3. Left-click Avast shields control

4. Right click on the option for how long you want the shields disabled. On the same menu you can turn the shields back on.

5. Open your cash game or tournament and you're all set.

I always disable it for ten minutes and once I'm playing it's no problem. I have used Avast and HM2 together for over a year, about 50 tournaments a month, with no problem. You will need to follow the above instructions every time a site update comes out.

Also at certain points HEM was saying it couldn't connect to the Postgres database. Any clue what's going on here?

It seems the only way to stop it is to go to task manager and end the process as it just says not responding and lags everything. Everything else seems to work fine until it freezes up other then the 3-4 times it couldn't connect to the database.

edit: sometimes it's hem and somtimes it's process called system eating up my disk space

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and send your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing.

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\ Filters

Edit the RecentCustomDateRangeFilters.filters file (or just delete the file).

If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+

Close HM2
Open your holdemmanager.config file from C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager in a text editor.
If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'holdemmanager'.
If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+
Look for the 'WindowStates' section and delete this line, which should be the first line in that section:

Code:
    <Key Name="Replayer" Value="0|396|1027|863|Normal" />
Save/close the file and restart HM2.

If you continue to have problems:

Please close HM2 and delete the files in the following folder:

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\Co nfig\Replayer

If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue and the following guide gives a step by step guide:

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and send your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing.

Did you recently update Windows 10? This update is not working well with Postgres. I had to reinstall it on my computer as well.

It appears there might be an issue with PostgreSQL and reinstalling it should help resolve this.

Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer (even if you use a different web browser). This is important because it will install critical updates that affect PostgreSQL and maybe related to the issues you are seeing.

Please note that reinstalling PostgreSQL will mean losing all your old data. If you have access to HM2 and your database was not corrupt then please follow these instructions for backing up your database - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...onfigs+work%3F

If you cannot access the database in HM2 then you can backup your database using this method: http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...nced+Method%29 but if your database was corrupt then the best solution is to reimport all your hands from C:/HM2archive folder or if your pokersite supports it you can request all your hands and summaries and reimport them as restoring a corrupt database will just restore all the problems you had.

Once you have backed up your previous database(s) then follow the instructions below to uninstall and reinstall PostgreSQL.

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.

2) Delete the \PostgreSQL\8.x\data folder that is left behind.

3) Delete the sub-folder(s) in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager\Da tabase (XP - c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager\Database).

4) Restart your PC

5) Use our combo installer to reinstall PostgreSQL. Make sure you un-check Holdem Manager during installation. http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...er_2_Setup.exe

Start HM2 again and create a New Database.

If you continue to have problems, please duplicate the issue and send us log files with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing:
- Open Windows Event Viewer's (Control Panel - System & Security - Administrative Tools or Start - Search - 'Event Viewer') - Windows Logs - Applications.
- Check for any errors and send the information (Save All Events As...).
- Please send your \HM2Logs folder files as well - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ger+Support%3F

When sending any files please zip them (right-click - send to - compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then right-click - 'copy dropbox link' and paste the download link directly into the support ticket email. If you have any problems with dropbox try using filedropper.com

You have to always tell us what the site and game type are.

Please update to this version
http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...AutoUpdate.exe

Please try to vacuum/analyze and reindex your database - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...29#maintenance

If you continue to have problems, try the following:

Try creating a new DataBase and import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...y+played+hands

If the new database seems to work properly, it sounds like your database might be corrupt. Please continue to use the new database and import the rest of your hands using the steps above. This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created) and edit any tournament results if necessary. I recommend keeping at least the most recent 2 or 3 backups in case the most recent one does not restore properly you can try the previous backup.

Here is a FAQ explaining how to backup your database and all settings in one easy step - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...onfigs+work%3F

If none of that helps please zip and email the problem hand histories to us using the 'Contact Support' link here - https://support.holdemmanager.com/support/product/1

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\MM\DD. It is configured in the Site Setup - Auto Import Folders menu.

When sending any files please zip them (right-click > send to > compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then 'copy public link' and paste the download link directly into the support ticket email.

Unfortunately remote support sessions are not part of your contract. We only use those as a courtesy when someone has exhausted all of the other solutions via email or forum support. If we can't help you solve it via email we may opt to offer a free remote support session or you could opt to pay for a premium remote support session if you do not want to try and solve it via email/forums.

What part of the instructions in the 3rd link, for creating a new database and importing hands, are you having a problem with? You just need to open the HM2 Database Manager menu, create a new database, then use the Hand Importing > Manual Hand Import menu to import some files from C:\HM2Archive\.

Please create a support ticket via the Contact Support link and explain in detail what problems you are having. Please make sure to link to this thread and let us know your forum name so we will know what we suggested, and/or you did, so far.

I'm confused. So you can't do this on HEM2? Is there a reason HEM2 never was able to record rebuys? So basically if you play rebuy tournaments, you would have to manually import every single tournament that is a rebuy to get the correct amount you are up down etc?

Also when did HEM3 come out? So on HEM3, you still have to manually type it in or does it automatically record itself?

It was not included originally in HM2 and I don't see that we ever had a feature request in HM2 to add it. HM2's tournament editor had one field for Rebuys + Addons. HM3 has separate fields for rebuys, add ons, bounties and number of each as shown here:

We do not know when HM3 will be available for public Beta. HM3 Pre-Release beta sign up is now closed. We will open up HM3 Beta to additional licenses after we have completed our review and analysis of feedback to date. Once it is open for more testers there will be an advisory on the HM2 Home tab with instructions and a link for requesting a beta trial license.

You can learn more about HM3 on our FAQs page here - http://support.holdemmanager.com/sup...%20Manager%203

HM3 does a much better job of automatically detecting tournament results than HM2 did. If it detects them improperly then you would need to manually edit the results and email us the HH/TS files with a description of what was detected wrong so we can fix the detection in a future update.
