Make sure the stars preferred seating and hm2 preferred seating options are set correctly - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...or+Poker+Stars

Then play 1 table and rt-click + hold the right mouse button on the HUD panels so you can drag them where they belong. Once you get the first table set properly you can join a 2nd table and the HUD should appear properly.

*If the HUD panels show (pre-fetch) before you have finished your first hand, and appear to be placed wrong, do not move any HUDs. Wait until after you have played 1 hand and your hero HUD has updated accordingly.

Also, if i buy HM2 by clicking purchase in the trial version do i need to get additional omaha add ons, because i need OM2?
If you only play Omaha you only need to buy OM2. If you play Holdem and Omaha you will want to buy the Pro Combo version so you can have access to both game types in the HUD and Reports.

Try these steps:

Rebuild the Icon Cache Database and check if it helps.
a. Close all folder windows that are currently open.
b. Launch Task Manager using the CTRL+SHIFT+ESC key sequence, or right click on taskbar and click on "Start Task manager".
c. In the Process tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process.
d. Click the End process button when asked for confirmation.
e. From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run).
f. Type "cmd.exe" (without quotes), and click OK.
g. In the command prompt window, type the commands one by one and press ENTER after each command:
CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
DEL IconCache.db /a
EXIT
h. In Task Manager, click File, select New Task (Run).
i. Type "explorer.exe" (without quotes), and click OK.
j. Check if the issue is fixed.

This is a known bug (#3700/#3932) that we hope to have fixed in our next release.

We will continue to support HM1 for the foreseeable future. Although an exact date has not been determined, fairness to existing owners of HM1 will be at the top of the considerations on setting that date.

We are sensitive to the economics involved for our membership here. HM was first released in 2008 and there has never been a paid upgrade. During that time there have been hundreds of official updates to Hold'em Manager.

The choice of whether to charge for upgrading was also influenced by the fact that HM2 is fundamentally a new program with over 1,000,000 lines of new code. In fact, the ONLY code used in both HM1 and HM2 is the code to actually parse the hand histories.

The database structure is completely new.
The UI is completely new.
The queries, reports and filters code are all completely new.
A significant number of new features in HM2 are completely new.
A FREE companion iPhone/iPad application that syncs with HM2 is completely new. (Android to follow)

It is natural to prefer not to pay for an upgrade but the investment in HM2 is so large that making it a free update was not practical option for us from a business standpoint. This is a decision that is faced by every software company periodically as they continue to invest in their products. We trust that you will recognize value in what we have done when you have used the HM2 Beta.

Hey guys, HM1 Question

Is there any way to view how much rake i have paid, myself personally, not just the standard 'rake' option. I believe it was called 'MGR rake' or something when i had PT3

Thanks!

Can you link to the official statement? We contacted Poker Stars and they could not confirm or deny the change.

Hey guys, I just spent an evening running through the new HM2, and here are a few of my suggestions:

Reports:

- Why isn't there an 'overall' report? I love doing filtered reports looking at specific situations, and it's a pain in the ass when I can't just replay through all 50 or 60 spots in one go. There is currently no report where I can see my stats under a single line (as to display all hands) and do a filter like "BB between 100 and 4000" "In middle position" "only suited connectors". Please add an 'overall' report.

-There is no way for me to adjust how reports are shown. You can add stats to reports, but you cannot move where those stats display on the table. There is an option to drag the table headers, but that doesn't stay if you refresh or look at a different report.

Replayer:

-The colored lights do not work. Sometimes it shows lights for hands that were simple blind steals. Sometimes it shows lights for hands I didn't play. Often it doesn't show any lights for big hands I was involved with. It's problem.

Overall:

-It feels like whoever made the UI should be fired. Important items are given just as much space as small irrelevant buttons. Everything is mashed together at the top instead of being logically separated. Running reports was the best thing about HM1, and in HM2 we just get huge scroll boxes with every stat thrown in. I don't know how to fix this but it's a huge mess and if anything it reminds me of frustration I had dealing with PT3's ****ty report section.

I agree with all of this. I bought HEM2, so I'm not someone just mindlessly bitching. I however am going to spend some of the day tomorrow re-installing HEM1 until I can work with you all to get HEM2 seamlessly working.

I tried HM2 for a few minutes and the result wasn't very good ...

(I have bought the product and I'm using the latest version)

First impression was that the arrow and text in the lower left corner is badly synced, sometimes it says READY after you have changed something and it takes 30 seconds before it changes ...
HEM2 should CLEAR the text and restart the arrow before a new user interaction ...

Then I went into the filter and tried to add a simple Tournament filter that would say number of players equal to 2 ...
I tried to do this for 30 minutes but failed although I'm a programmer that have built GUI:s for years ...

First of all I noticed that the menus are unintuitive, why place the PLUS sign above the fields I enter ... A selection menu should be filled from top to bottom and then you should press some OK button below what you entered .

But here you click the filter and then after entering all information you have to press a little plus sign that seems to belong to the selection box which was the first thing you selected when you started building your filter ...

After you are done I guess you should press the OK button but it's hidden in the lower right corner while a very slow "Save tournament filter" seems to be the natural selection (but is not)...

Anyway, after I select this it still shows 2-table & 18 ppl sit and goes as well as 3-table & 27 ppl sit and goes in the Report - Tournament - tab ...

I press refresh but it doesn't help. And my data is from Pokerstars this month so it should be OK ...

I try this back and forth for 30 minutes until I give up ...

I was never impressed with HEM GUI:S to start with but I at least expect these very basic features to work such a long time after you released the product ...

---

Also in the top of the screen for the "Reports" tab : headlines are placed below(?!) the selections. What a novel way to build a GUI.
"Game mode" is placed under "Cash"/"Tournaments" ; "Heads-up display" is placed under "STart HUD" ... "Reports" is placed under "More Reports" ...

...

This was my honest experience from my first 30 minutes trying to test HEM2

Hi - Im sure this belongs elsewhere, but i get an error message when trying to post in 'computer software'...

I've just installed HEM2. I'm finding it harder to use than HEM1, especially a pain in the ass to move HUD pop ups.

HOWEVER!!!!!! It has a ton of new features (which Im getting to grips with) - and it looks a much more comprehensive tool. (And i only used 20% of HEM1.)

MOST OF ALL (FOR ME)... you can sync your databases between multiple computers - my two laptops and my home desktop... this alone is worth the upgrade for no longer will i manually have to push hands from one to the other...

PROBLEM... I was having trouble getting all my (500k) hands from my old laptop - i could not find the DB... (despite a lot of looking)

I therefore did this.
1) go into HEM1 on your laptop
2) go to 'database maintenance'
3) go to 'export hands'
4) tell it where to put them
5) close HEM1
6) open HEM2 and goto manual hand import
7) tell it where to find them
8) sit back and watch for 30

i hope this helps... there may be an easier way (well this is super easy once you know what to do)...

Solutions:
1. Reboot your computer
2. If that doesn't help look for the hidden system file postmaster.pid in the postgresql data folder, delete it and reboot your computer again.
3. Check the postgresql service in the windows services (control panel->administration). Sometimes it helps to change the Logon As.. to "local system account"
4. Check our FAQ:

Which site and gametype are you playing? It sounds like the hands are not being imported correctly.
Please check the handhistory path of your pokerclient. The auto-import folder in HM must match this path.
The pokerclient must be installed in english language.
Hand importing -> Adjust site import times must correct the difference between the time zone of the poker client and your local time.

Hi matsqqqq.

Thanks for the feedback and several of the suggestions are pretty straight forward to implement.

A couple of the issues I have a question about (including the task that you were no successful in doing).

Can you shoot me a PM with your contact info? I would like to have someone get in touch with you directly to follow up for clarity.

Good stuff.

For HM1,

I have recently got hold of my lifetime hand histories from Stars. They came in about 38 files. I have extracted them into a folder on my desktop, however when I try to import them into HM, using both 'import folder' or 'import file', it doesn't register any hands.

Its telling me that its been imported but no hands? The txt files seem fine and I can read them in notepad fine.

Help please...TY

having the same problem i often had in HM1, where the positions on the hud for players is not right, and if I move one it moves others on other tables but not the correct corressponding player. Only happens occassionaly no idea why.
