Struggling to figure out a reason why my holdemmanager 2 client does not update with the relevant info on the reports or active sessions tabs unless i restart the whole thing

The hud does work and updates as expected.

Reports only update/refresh at the start up of HM2.

I have tried changing the clock site settings but no help there either.

I have uninstalled hm2 multiple times with different versions but each have the same problem.

I have tried uninstalling and even removing postgreSQL from my pc and trying again but the problem persists.

I am no expert when it comes to hardware as it is not something I study. Based on our FAQs and a quick chat with one of our remote support techs that knows hardware better, I would recommend an I7 or faster CPU. I would recommend a bigger NVME SSD but only if your MotherBoard has M.2 with PCI-e support for it to work at full speed. A faster SSD won't help if your MoBo only has the Sata III connections that your old SSD uses.

This is usually a result of the improper Site Time Adjustment settings in HM2 that you mentioned.

Make sure that the Site Time Adjustment is properly configured such that the Time Stamp in the Reports for the hand matches your local windows clock time.

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and send your HM2Logs folder in a support ticket with screenshots of the Table/HUD, Sessions Report and/or Live Play view and a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing, with a link to this thread and your forum name.

I just replied a few minutes ago. According to your logs your HM2 Site Time Adjustment is still off in HM2 by -60 minutes and there were a few other errors in the alert viewer log that could be causing you some issues.

So I'm still using hem2 as i had been for a while. While playing on stars with the new aurora theme, i notice my hud which i put for each player at the table where it didn't block anything... now blocks either a player's username or chips or their hole cards... like when they are all in.



Someone mentioned that using hem2 now with aurora theme on stars isn't good because it lags even more. Is that true? So we should all upgrade to hem3 now if we play on stars?

If the HUD panels are near their proper seat but just need a slight move to fine tune their positions you can move them with the right mouse button.

I do not know if HM2 lags more than HM3 with Aurora as I can't use HM2 at Stars from the states because HM2 doesn't support play money like HM3 does. All I can suggest is that you give the HM3 Trial or Free version a test to see if it lags more or less than your HM2, if you are having issues with HM2 and Aurora. I can tell you that I had issues clicking action buttons on Stars Mercury tables with HM3 so I switched to Carbon and no longer have that problem when testing HM3 on Stars play money tables.

I have installed HM3 and uninstalled HM2 but I noticed that in appdata/roaming/holdemmanager there is 15GB of space being taken up. And another 20GB in appdata/roaming/max value software

Do I need all of this to run HM3? Is the appdata/roaming/holdemanager folder from the old from HM2? Can I delete it?

- C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager = HM2 and can be deleted if you uninstalled HM2 and have no plans to reinstall it anytime soon
- C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software = HM3 and you need to keep it for HM3 to function properly with your database, settings, etc

If you are no longer using HM2 (or PT4, or H2N, etc) you can also uninstall PostgreSQL and delete the remaining C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\X.x\data folder for the HM2/PT4, etc databases.

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.

2) Delete the \PostgreSQL\X.x\data folder that is left behind.

3) Delete the sub-folder(s) in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager\Da tabase (XP - c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager\Database).
- If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+

4) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

I did all the steps but the last one(above) gave me an error message along the lines of it doesn't exist? Not sure if it matters?

I am also wondering if it is normal for HM3 to take up 20GB? 18.1GB in logs?

That is not uncommon if you play long sessions and have the setting for 'max no of log files' set to 5 or higher. The \Logs folder keeps the most recent set of logs and the \Logs\Archive folder keeps the previous X sets as configured in the HM3 - Tools - Settings - 'Feature Logging' menu for 'Max no. of log files = X'. If you reduce that setting to 1 instead of the default 5 it should save you 10 GB or so the next time you restart HM3 and the HM3 server.

- Close your poker clients, close HM3 and right-click - 'Exit' the HM3 Server icon in the Windows Notification Tray.
- Restart HM3 and make sure HM3 and the HM3 Server (Auto Import/HUD) is fully started.
- Launch your poker client(s).

Do you have any discount codes for people looking to upgrade from HM2 to HM3? I currently have HM2 small stakes & would like to upgrade to HM3 so I can import RIO hands. I believe you did earlier in the year but I can't see anything now.

Unfortunately the upgrade discounts expired October 31st, 2020. I am sorry that you missed the October 31st, 2020 deadline. We communicated it via emails, in-software alerts (both HM2 and HM3), forum posts, FAQ's and on social media.

HM3 stopped working.
Tried reinstalling and keep getting a message - error writing to file c program files x86/holdem manager 3/ holdemmanager.server.exe verify that you have access to that directory.
it gives me 2 options retry or cancel, retry brings up the same errror

HM3 is still not working right on Ignition for me. On average I get the HUD to work on 3/4 tables. Mostly the HUD just doesn't show up on a table but occasionally I get a table where the HUD looks like it is working but then stops working after 5-10 hands and the stats don't update and are in the wrong places.

How can I fix it?

- Please try to uninstall HM3 from your Control Panel - Programs and Features menu. If you have any problems installing HM3 because of your installed version this is because we use Microsoft *.msi install/update files. To update to a new version you also need the msi file for the currently installed version in the same downloads folder on your computer.
- Uninstall HM3 with this file.
- Delete your C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\Kits folder*.

Did any of the tables start empty and you got moved to a new table? Did your Ignition client, or any of the tables, briefly disconnect from the Ignition server?

I have no way to know what is causing your issues, or if they can be resolved, based on that problem description. I need you to duplicate and screen shot the problem then send the screenshots to us with a detailed description of the problems shown and the logs and hand history files from that session for our developers to review.

- Close your poker clients, close HM3 and right-click - 'Exit' the HM3 Server icon in the Windows Notification Tray.
- Restart HM3 and make sure HM3 and the HM3 Server (Auto Import/HUD) is fully started.
- Launch your poker client(s).

Please see our HUD Troubleshooting FAQ and reproduce the issue then send the requested logs, screenshots, and hand history files in a support ticket as instructed at the bottom of that FAQ with a link to this forum thread and your forum username.

There is no overhang setting you can edit in HM3. This feature request has been documented in detail and provided to the developers for future consideration.

HMT-5131 Add configurable overhang setting for HUD (Missed HM2 feature)

If you want to be notified if/when it is added please send an email via the 'Contact Support' link and include "Notify Me When HMT-5131 Is Resolved" in the subject line and body of the email.

There is a CoverOverlap config edit you can use to do something similar in HM3 but it behaves a bit differently than HM2's Overhang setting did when the HUDs get out to the edge. Instead of just bumping into the edge like HM2, the HM3 HUD can be pushed outside of this CoverOverlap type of setting.

Here is me testing with the CoverOverlap=0 setting in my config file:



If you want to try using this in your HM3:

1. Close your poker clients, close HM3 and right-click - 'Exit' the HM3 Server icon in the Windows Notification Tray.
2. Open C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0\Config\HM3HUD.cfg with a text editor (notepad, sublime, notepadd++, etc) and it should look similar to this - https://www.dropbox.com/s/dz9ninh5z5...0edit.png?dl=0
3. Now add the following 2 lines of code:

4. Save your change and that increases the HUD area. If you still don't see the HUDs when you start HM3 again you can try a higher value.

I cannot seem to login to hem2 today. Tried 10 plus times, and left loaing for 5 -10 mins on several occassions.

a) This is possibly due to missing Windows Time Zones. Please see this FAQ and restore them all back:

This could be caused by cultural conflicts in the software. You will just need to reset the culture info.

1) Please open Windows control panel.
2) Open Region-Language
3) Change your region to English (United States)

Someone else mentioned this in the past 24 - 48 hours but I am not sure if they sent us any hands yet. Can you send us a small sample of yours?

Please zip and email the original problem hand histories and tournament summaries to us as instructed at the bottom of this FAQ. Make sure you also include screenshots of your reports/filters and a detailed description by tournament number, session, hole cards, filter, stat, etc. of some of the errors we need to test.

First of all thank You for the detailed response.



I was having issues with Chico and all HUD panels at the start were placed where I put red rectangles but I managed to move them all to correct positions.

1) What CoverOverlap setting would You recommend for it to not happen like that in future if I want to use a different HUD profile?


2) Could You explain a bit more? As You can see in the screenshot there are cards 22/33/44/55 but there are 7 players at table. But there are no nicknames at those cards and I have no idea to which player I should put 22/33 etc.
Probably need to start with 22 and move clockwise but not sure to which player I need to assign that 22 first.

There must be cards for all 7 players but they are not visible? Would CoverOverlap help here to make them visible?


3) Also as you can see on HUD for each player I have 3 different "Table Groups" and You have a stack size filter for pokerstars but that filter appears on each Table Group. It causes HUD to look very messy and sometimes hard to properly place at table to make all stats visible.
Is there any development for choosing in HUD Profile Editor to which Table Group to add Stack Size filter?
