I'm guessing by now you've already checked their websites and found the answer for yourself, but just in case:

Fine to use on Stars: http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/prohibited/

Less clear on Tilt as it's not specified individually but shouldn't be a problem: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/prohibited_programs.php

saw some offer to get this program omaha indicator released after playing 400 hands. Is this program any good?
Can i compare it to Holdem Manager, or is the omaha version of holdem manager the real sh*t?

Hi

I downloaded the sofware from here: Indicator. I find the tool cool. Personally, it stop me from gambling!

I use Hold'em Manager for Omaha, too. Omaha Indicator and Hold'em Manager for Omaha are not the same tools and have different goals.

Omaha Indicator help to chose the best starting hands, give me a quick advice of my flopped hand and approximative style of the opponents. Hold'em Manager for Omaha gives you better details about the opponents.

Have you tried it? Do you use it on a regular basis? Which features do you value in it? If you use it, do you use it for stt or mtt or both?

Been using Poker Indicator for a few months, its pretty good. I meant to buy their Hold Em Indicator. It's just got some nice extra features. Best part of both is the ability to see opponents mucked cards! Poker Indicator only gives you limited stats about your opponents. If you're gonna buy one spring the extra $20 for Hold Em Indicator.

Have always used the indicator series when playing at cake.

Just downloaded the new cake beta and indicator doesn't recognize
and attach itself to table as it always had in original cake version.

So, I exchanged these emails w/ support:

Hi,

Just downloaded new beta version
and my holdem indicator doesn't recognize
a table being present.

Just want to make sure this is beta related and not a problem on
my end

Thanks,
John

Fr. Cake:

Hello John,

Thank you for your email. Please be informed that we neither support nor endorse any HUD for the simple reason that we believe it gives players an unfair advantage over others. All players should be entitled to have a level playing field as similar as possible to an actual table when they sit at the tables and to play against a person using Holdem Manager or other HUD software that has detailed statistical information on players playing style and past play is in our opinion is unfair.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Ove

Me:

Thanks for the quick reply, but I wasn't referring to HEM PT3 or any tracking software. Holdem indicator is merely a simple odds calculator that has always worked on
cake. If Iam now mistaken, just let me know please

Thanks,
John

and finally:

Hello John,

Thanks for the explanation. You may not use any tool which evaluates hands or even other players while our software is running at the same time. You may calculate hands yourself but we would not like to see a tool used to evaluate your hand for you.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Ove

Gave up at this point. I have always used holdem and tourn indicator (including at cake) I think they're great little tools. I know cakes hud policy but this other thing is new to me. cake's even listed on the indicator website.

Am I way off base here or does it look like it must be related to the beta.

Thought this belonged in the software forum but if the official cake poker thread is more app. feel free to let me know. If it does, instructions on moving and changing a thread to a post would be appreciated

Since reading this thread I tried StudIndicator, liked it, bought it. Won a little 3 tabling with it for about 6 hours over a few days. Today I tried to fire it up and my Zone Alarm antivirus says it has quarantined it because it contains a trojanhorse virus. I haven't been able to find any forums on pokerindicators website so I guess I'm about to send them an email. How many people reading this forum have actually used this? I thought if pokerstars would name it as an allowable program, that they would think the product was legit. Any suggestions what to do?

The above is crossposted from the stud forum. I should point out that this program isn't a "lousy waste", or whatever, for stud players because it is apparently the only commercially available HUD / dead card tracker, for 7stud.

Yeah I would like to get the Stud indicator the for the dead card tracker. I think that alone would make it worthwhile.

Some virus scanners see these products as viruses for some reason. I have never know anyone to actually say that the file was in fact a virus. if you got it for their site then I doubt you will have any worries.

Does stud indicator track folded cards on Stars? I'm assuming not since they don't appear in the chat box... I'm also assuming it's just impossible as any kind of screen-scraping will be prohibited, correct?

Don't know anything about Stud indicator, and I don't think the normal holdem indicator uses screen scaping, but screen scraping is not prohibited.

I use it. Some who play on Bovada use it because there is no other program that displays a HUD on the anonymous tables.

Does anyone know of a hand converter that can read the HI output? I'd like to post the following hand in converted form (I don't care about the stats).

P1(UTG) $24.29 - VP:50 PFR:50 AF:Inf. W:0| STL:100| 3B: CB: N:4.29 Hands:2

P3(CO) $20.58 - VP:83 PFR:17 AF:0.8 W:40|100 STL:33|0 3B:0| CB:|0 N:19.29 Hands:6
P4(BTN) $12.70 - VP:33 PFR:17 AF:1.0 W:50|0 STL:100|100 3B:0| CB:100| N:-3.45 Hands:6
P5(SB) $5.85 - VP:67 PFR:0 AF:2.5 W:33|0 STL:0|0 3B:0| CB: N:-2.33 Hands:6
Me(BB) $24.65 - VP:30 PFR:23 AF:2.5 W:29|53 STL:53|71 3B:8|52 CB:66|40 N:547.40

Pre Flop: Me(BB) with [Ac,Ad]
P1(UTG) folds, P3(CO) calls 0.25, P4(BTN) calls 0.25, P5(SB) calls 0.15, Me(BB) raises 1.50, P3(CO) calls 1.50, P4(BTN) folds, P5(SB) folds

Flop: (Jd,9d,Th) (2 players)
Me(BB) bets 4.50, P3(LP) calls 4.50

Turn: 3h (2 players)
Me(BB) bets 14.50, P3(LP) calls 14.33

River: (4h)

Final:
Returns 0.17 to Me(BB)
P3(CO) shows [Qh,Kd]
P3(CO) wins 39.66

So if I'm not mistaken, I can deposit $50 on BetOnline (knowing I won't get my money back) and get a free license? Lol, sounds way better than 79 euros, and I can degen it up on BetOnline. I just want it for a hud on bovada. If anyone has done this let me know if it works, or if I'm missing something (mandatory $ raked or something like that..)?

EDIT: NEVERMIND, FOUND THE FINE PRINT

*IF* I decide to put money on Bovada, is there a reason not to sign up through the HI site and get a free license? Is there any one here that has done that (or any other room for that matter) and saw some drawbacks/issues? I don't want to end up down the road finding out I am some how locked out of some promo or that now HI owns the rights to the finger I use to click buttons.

now that bovada allows you to select your preferred seat, HI should auto correct for that based on hand #...as of now it doesn't so you have to drag each hud stat around every new table. actually do you still have to rearrange it yourself even if you don't use preferred seating?

Is there a way to disable the drop shadows on the HUD text? I can barely read that on the tables

No dragging required, just right click on one of the HUD boxes and tell it to continue rotating until it's right. But yes agreed, it's a workaround.
