Free New Software: A HUD That Displays Hand Ranges Free New Software: A HUD That Displays Hand Ranges

Since my retirement from online poker and the disaster of Black Friday, I haven't been updating my site or custom HUDs for PT3 as often.

So I've decided to do something revolutionary and release my first custom HUD for Poker Tracker 3, aka The Crusher, for free/open source. I won over $30k using this HUD and it helped me climb up the limits to a point where I could consider myself a professional online poker player.

The Crusher HUD was the first HUD ever to feature pop-ups that detailed an opponents' hand ranges after taking a specific preflop action. Take a look:

And it's not just me who's boasted a higher win rate because of The Crusher. Others have used it and found it to be a tremendous help to their game. From this thread:

Without his hud, Id have to spend countless hours more away from the table analyzing hands and taking notes on my opponents. Instead, the hud tells me everything I need to know without any effort, and in a very effective manner.

With “Crusher” my play improved significantly (from loosing to winning).

You can download and own this HUD right now for free here.

impressive work!

link is only for the paid version

looks like the free "crusher" is halfway down the page. dunno about those paid versions though, I didn't check before and assumed it'd be on a page of it's own. not ideal. OP, please make a stand alone free HUD page.

Thanks for the kind words, _dave_.

My 2 HUDs, The Crusher and The Destroyer are on the same download page because I used to charge for both of them and users could select which one they wanted. Since I'm giving away The Crusher for free, I just changed the price on the download page to "free." But if you don't want to visit the CrushTheGame download page at all (or are confused by having to read, CmonSon) to download the free HUD, here's a direct link to the zip file of it: http://crushthegame.com/wp-content/u...rusher_HUD.zip

A single post detailing the free HUD can be found here.

the white on black makes my eyes all fuzzy.. can you do this with maybe slightly less contrasted colors.. like this forum is not black on white but black on grey.

looks like cool new stuff. does it work with HM?

Yeah, a lot more people have HEM and would like to have this for HEM, is it possible?
10-31-2011 , 12:59 AM
no, HEMv1 does not support the custom stats required.

With known hand ranges - are you referring to actual played hands by villain - or estimated ranges according to their VPIP´s in different positions?

These are actual played hands either shown by a player willingly (by clicking "show hand" while they played the hand) or gone to showdown.

I group them in ranges that are similar, since 4-betting with 55 is similar to 4-betting with 33, etc.

So if someone 4-bets with 55, it will have an instance of 4-betting preflop with "77-22".

How can I make this work for tournaments? I tried to import the Crusher HUD as a Tournament profile, along with converting the "3Bet Preflop / Premium" and "VPIP minus PFR" Cash Player Statistics to Holdem Tournament Player Statistics. Are these two the only new statistics needed?

However, when I try to use the HUD in a tournament, the fields in all the pop-ups are blank, except for the PFR in EP/MP/LP/BL.

When you extrapolate known showdown hands into hand ranges, what ranking system are you using for the hand ranges?

I'd suggest that rankings against a random hand or even the pokerstove system of rankings against 3 random hands, are probably not ideal, and also that the rankings for limit holdem and NLHE should be significantly different.

You can, but it takes time and dedication and an understanding of how to program custom stats. I made and sell the HUDs for cash games only. To do more and make it for tournaments, you'd have to tackle that project on your own. You can learn about custom stats and ask any questions you have about it in PokerTracker's custom stats forum (which is extremely helpful and was instrumental in my creation of my HUDs).

I am not ranking the hand ranges in any way. (I think to do so would be against most sites' TOS.) The color-coding on the Crusher HUD is a simple guide to how reliable a range is, meaning how often it's shown up. Red = once, Yellow = twice, Green = 3 times. The color coding on the Destroyer is a lot more complex but basically is giving the same info: White = a lower frequency of occurrence, Red = a little more frequent, Yellow = more frequent, and Green = the highest frequency of occurrence. So if someone has small pocket pairs listed as Green for raising in EP in a full ring game, you can know that they pretty consistently raise small pocket pairs from EP.

This is exactly the type of thing that I thought would propel PT3 ahead of HEM. The amazing customability of the hud and the ability to create custom stats. But to my great surprise, nobody but myself and a few others took advantage of it. What a shame. Nice job though blood, this is really good work.

Is it possible to integrate this with HEM2 ?

I don't know if this is correct or if it will work properly, but post #13 in this thread explains how to do this. I hope it's ok to link to another poker forum. If not, I apologize and mods please delete.

I agree. It's a great HUD once you get used to it; the custom stats are especially useful. I don't see myself upgrading to the Destroyer though, so you need one of those Paypal Donate buttons on your website. Thanks again for providing this amazing hud.

Me too. But they never embraced the "modding" or custom-HUD-creating community, other than with a poorly-maintained "repository."

Feel free to restart this in the Free Software forum with only the direct link to the download - a thread with all the links in this one would have to be a paid Commercial Software thread, which you can contact me about creating if you like.
