Nice soft.
But I found a small inconvinience in comparassing with pokerstove and other similar programms. After selecting a hand when you click on it twice it is not cleared back - only small triangle apperars. While in pokerstove it is cleared. I know that if you set weight = 0 calculations will be the same but it's harder to visually percieve a range.
Scylla, are you going to do smth with it?

PS. Sorry for my english

This only applies in the setting "use weight".
You just need to set the "use weight/no weight" button to "no weight" and you can turn starting hands off.

Unfortunately not, because Party Poker does not allow for withdrawels unless you play at its site.

Sorry if it's been asked but is it possible to just input VPIP numbers (e.g. 14%) to obtain a starting hands range, basically like Pokerstove, instead of using the slider? Would be helpful for exclusion slider also.

Has this software officially been banned for live use?

Just left-click the number to the right of the slider and enter the VPIP.
If your version does not support this then it's possible you've got an older version installed.
In this case just uninstall and go to www.stoxev.com/flopzilla/flopzilla.htm for the latest version.

Hey scylla,

I have a few ideas for flopzilla updates. Just ideas. Do with them as you would like.
I have no idea how easy they would be to implement but they would save me some time in my analysis.

1. I'd like to be able to 'invert' a range. That is to say if I have a range selected as 80% for all broadway hands and then all suited deuces, I could then click on the 'invert' button and get 20% weight on broadway hands and then all other hands that are not suited deuces. (or put more simply, if the inputted range is AA then the invert button would output all hands except AA as the new range)

2. I'd like to be able to have multiple 'range has hit' values. Say, for example, if I could put a red check mark next to top pair and then put a blue check mark next to flush draw there would then be three 'range has hit' values. One as total of all check marks then one with the total of the total for red check marks and one as a total of blue check marks.

3. To a lesser degree I'd like to be able to assign different weights to different hole-cards.

4. In rare cases it would be convenient to be able to enter ranges as text.

I know I've had some other ideas in the past. I'll post them later when they cross my mind again.

Thanks for the great softwares.

Hi WillyT,

First of all, sorry for the long response time.
I read your post long ago but was on holiday and didn't have the time to respond.

Although I don't disagree this would add some value, unfortunately there is not enough room in the interface. I could make it bigger and add lots of other stuff, but I'm trying to go for a "less is more" vibe with Flopzilla.

Again, unfortunately, I could add many (many many many) more features, each of which would definitely add some value, however, it would come at a cost to the ease of use of the interface. In Flopzilla I've decided to only add features that add a tremendous amount of value compared to how much they would complicate the interface.

Still, thanks for the feedback.

Cheers,

Scylla

Thanks for the response Scylla. I was just tossing some ideas out on things that would save me time on minor calculations I find myself frequently doing or mindless tasks I'm often undertaking. It's still amazing software and I'll continue to use it all the time.

Cheers,

Bill

Is it possible to input a % and then have flopzilla work backwards by showing you all the hands that hit any flop [or a specific flop] at least that percent of the time?

To put it plainly, no.
You might want to give StoxEV a try.
Its graphing function allows for similar things as what you're describing.

The fact that StoxEV exists is the keystone of your "keep flopzilla simple" argument. If there is something more complex that someone wishes flopzilla could do, StoxEV probably does it.

The videos are currently still hosted by Stoxpoker in their archives.
Go here: http://archive.stoxpoker.com and search for:
- Coach name: Guest pro
- Key concepts: EV

Other than that, I'm working on it.

Is there a reason not to put these on bittorrent? I can think of a torrent tracker (no names mentioned) that would be appropriate for poker related videos.

If you give the OK, I'll seed the StoxEV tutorials there.

You're welcome to do so, since copyright is not an issue.
However, as mentioned before, I'm already on it.
And at the moment the videos are still available in the archives.
