How do I create custom ranges? Ideally I would like to be able to select a custom range, then edit it for one hand without overwriting the saved range.

I have added my categories and sub-categories. I can build a range. But then when I try to go to another sub-category to build another range it appears to overwrite my first one and mirror the results (for example, when I build my cutoff open range it overwrites my button open range and they are both the same now). Likewise, I have no idea how to 'lock' these in so they stay put.

Can anyone help? I am trying and look forward to using this if I can just get the basics down. Thank you!
In order to store a range, just click on "Store range...". The range will be added to the bottom of the list of the category that you clicked on. As for ranges being overwritten, do you possibly have "Clear mode" turned OFF (upper left)? If so, then please try turning it ON. Or are you trying to store ranges by right-clicking existing ranges and selecting "overwrite"? In that case please use "Store range" instead.

If the above doesn't help, then please describe in more detail exactly which steps you are taking.

Thank you! This helped.

Now that I understand how to do it I can't figure out why I got stuck. It is pretty straight forward. Regardless, I've got it working now and I'm happy as a clam. Thanks again!

Re: Flopzilla

@Scylla, I noticed if you pick a pocket pair (22) It shows you have 10,8% of flopping a set. If you place any 2 DEAD CARDS (other than a blocker to the set) It shows 11,2% of flopping a set.

So, I tried using HoldEQ + 4 flopzilla instances, paired them all at HoldEQ and I picked random hands on each flopzilla, and It shows 10,8% of flopping a set, no matter what (not setting dead cards or flop cards).

Is it correct? When you place 2 dead cards x a range to check equity PF, It's the same as a HU situation, right? So why does It differs the pocket pair flopping a set %? We do not need to know the % of flopping a set when playing "alone", so why by standard It shows 10,8% and when I set a hand at dead card It shows 11,2%?

Thanks in advance for helping a lot! :-D

As far as I can tell, it works properly, however, should there still be issues, then please mail support and we'll take care of it.
It's running super smooth! Thanks for the new update!

I wonder if there is already or if you can think of adding as a future update, a "flopability" ranking of hands! One could preset flop filters, *RUN*, THEN flopzilla show results of all hands that flop that minimum %.

Thanks!

The chance of flopping a set with 2 dead cards is indeed 11.2%. Both Flopzilla and CardRunnersEV arrive at this number with two different methods (Flopzilla enumerates all flops, while CardRunnersEV performs a monte carlo simulation). However, HoldEq is only focussed on equity calculations. It will not apply card removal between instances of Flopzilla. We do have a new release coming up for CardRunnersEV though where card removal can be toggles ON/OFF, so should you be interested in that, then please check back in about two weeks.

Ok, thank you for the suggestion; I will keep it in mind.

Re: Flopzilla

Hey!
The more ranges i create in Flopzilla the more FZ fails to upload them properly.

I probably have like 200-300 ranges by now. And sometimes it fails to upload the BOTTOM 10-20-100 ones. (not the newest ones, but the ones that are at the bottom of a range-tree).

I started to make a backup file ("export predefined ranges") after every ~significant change i make (i assumed the reason of fails is that i have too many ranges).

But now FZ even fails to Import predef. ranges from my backup files.

Error is ~"failed to upload the entire table. Check if you copied all symbols from the file"
And i obv. copied everything with ctrl+A.

Is it a known issue and how i can solve this ?

I can't say that this is a known issue, but if you mail your newdefs2.txt file to support, then I'll see if I can reproduce it. That being said, Flopzilla itself regularly stores backups in the directory /undo_predef. The easiest way to restore is to go to "Save/load->Restore predef ranges from list of backup files" in its menu. You will need to upgrade to v184 for this though, given that v183 seems to not perform this function properly (the /undo_prefer directory is relatively new, and erroneously, Flopzilla's restore function still looks at the old directory). Should the above not work for you for some reason, then please mail support. As for 184, it can be downloaded here: http://www.flopzilla.com/download.html

Re: Flopzilla

There is an option to move ranges between Categories.

Could you please add the option to
a) move Sub-Categories between Categories
b) reconfigure "Category" into "Sub-Category" (e.g. i had a category that i used. Now i made a completely new one for the same spot, and i want to put the old one into somekind of "old stuff"-category)

Thx

And also thx for the constant improvement of the software.)

We do actually have something for this purpose. Please enlarge the predef section horizontally as far as possible. At a certain point a feature will be revealed that will allow you to copy/move ranges between categories. Instructions on how to use it are printed on the field itself. See the pic below.

Re: Flopzilla

hi,
i have just downloaded flopzilla. upon registration i was met with this message , "an unsupported operation was attempted". I then downloaded the attached DAT file and saved it into the flopzilla directory (this was actually rather difficult as when i chose "save as" i was met with the message that i need permission to save in this folder, i dragged it in there though!). After i got it in there i tried to activate my membership once more, only to be met with the same message again? A resolution that doesnt involve me spending any more time on this installation would be greatly appreciated.
kind regards,
james

Hi James,

Ok, I notice that you have also sent a mail.
Let me get back to you on that.

Re: Flopzilla

Hi!

I have a lot of ranges saved in Flopzilla and i wanted to send them to friend so i choose: save/load --> export predefined ranges and copy txt to notepad file.

When i try to import them back into flopzilla i cant paste all saved txt when choosing import predefined ranges as it looks like flopzilla import window has some limit in text which can be pasted there!? Is there any solution to this?

I'm pressing tab to alternate between % and combos and it's not working. I bought the program a couple weeks ago and the function was working fine up until this morning.

This function will only work if a flop is entered, given that for a preflop range, postflop combos don't apply. Has a flop been entered in the situation where you try to use TAB?

Your ranges are stored in the file newdefs2.txt.
So, instead, please just send that file to your friend.
Copying that file into Flopzilla's directory will be all that is required to transfer the ranges.

Re: Flopzilla

I noticed, after applying additional filter to hand category (lets say, I exclude some hands in TP manually), number of hands passed filter doesn't change when I include/exclude the whole category. What am I doing wrong?

You need to turn the filters ON by clicking on the button at the bottom of the "Statistics" section (the one that you have drawn a red square around).

I appreciate that this won't be at the top of the list of priorities, but could you add backdoor flush draw + backdoor straight draw to the filters in flopzilla please?

Backdoor flushdraws actually already exist:
Two card backdoor flushdraws are simply listed in the statistics.
One card backdoor flushdraws can be activated by turning ON "Settings->Include 1 crd backdoor flushdraws in statistics".

We're a little bit busy with the upcoming release of our new product GTO+, but I'll see after that if there's anything that can be done with backdoor straight draws.
