The software has been available for months and has also worked fine for months.
But recently Windows XP users report crashes.

Ok, last try for today:
http://www.stoxev.com/flopzilla/download/Flopzilla4.rar

After that I'll just wait to hear back from the encryption guys.

It sure is hard work protecting your IP, isn't it

Yeah, I'm thinking of switching to the honour system.

Years ago I used Pure Software's Purify (memory leak analysis stuff). Their licensing scheme was the honor system with help -- they would never prevent you from running the full program but they would tell you when they thought you didn't have a license. I.e. the honor system with automated reminders / auditing.

I think that PT3 tries to "phone home" when it starts but will continue even if I'm not connected to the internet. I know this because I've started PT3 when my internet was down and gotten a popup about how "phone home" failed.

I think having Flopzilla or StoxEV phone home so you can know how many licensed copies and unlicensed copies are being regularly used is fine.

I guess if you are getting your IP management infrastructure from a 3rd party then you can only use what somebody is selling ...

Hi guys,

It appears the issue with Flopzilla crashing for Windows XP users has been resolved.
Many thanks to all users who were active in helping to isolate the bug.

Cheers,

Scylla

I started flopzilla after a few days/maybe weeks, and it said I should download new version from the url given. Downloaded and installed it, but it still says that same and refuses to start.

I'm guessing you still have the old page in cache with a link to the old version.
Anyhow, here's the correct link:
www.stoxev.com/files/flopzilla.msi

Actually, could you also please refresh your page and check if it now indeed points to flopzilla.msi with a filesize of 3.08Mb?

Nice, the new version works. gball you have to unistall the previous one first and then install it. I got the same error when I installed over the previous one.

it works now on win-xp.

trivial question: after the "4 days left on my license" are gone, the only way to use it is for $25?

Ah, forgot about that one.
Thanks!

I am experiencing some strange behavior.

If I start with the following screen:

Then change the flop from Th to the Tc:

His range now hits 56.8%.
However, if I remove any flop card and re-add it again (exactly the same card)...

...his range is reported to now hit 59.3%. As you can see, in the last two screen shots, everything is exactly the same except for how often the range is reported to hit.

Thanks for the bug report.

Here's what's happening.
As you may notice, the displayed stats vary depending on if the flop is monotone or non-monotone.
Non-displayed stats should not be counted, but for some reason it appears that one or more of them still is.

I'll post a fix tomorrow or the day after at the latest.

Just turn on "Check for new version upon startup" under the "Check for new version" tab and you'll be allerted once the new version is up.

Do you know if this bug has always been there or if it has been introduced recently?

Both possible.
There was a minor problem with non-displayed stats recently that I "fixed".
I may well have introduced it there.
I'll know in a few hours.

Ok, fixed.
I've uploaded a new version.

It was indeed the "fix" that I made earlier (something like 2 weeks ago) that caused this problem.

Here's what happened (for those who care of course ).

Because of a limited amount of space to print all the stats, sometimes the ones that are less important are not displayed. As you may notice, when you switch between monotone boards, non-monotone boards and preflop, the displayed stats change a bit.

In the earlier bug, non-displayed stats were still added to the "range has hit" stat. Although technically not incorrect, it caused some confusion. I changed it, so that only displayed stats were counted.

This introduced the recent problem. When switching from a monotone board to a non-monotone one (and the other way around) the stats are calculated before the screen is redrawn. So the very first time a switch was made between monotone and non-monotone, the "range has hit" stat was not counting the desired stats. In every following calculation (for instance when you turn a board card off and on) it was of course again correct.

Thanks for the report.

Cheers,

Scylla

Hey Scylla, Can I get like a free license or something since you totally ripped off my original IP !

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/39...-chart-262249/

and according to the flamers in the first couple posts there everyone who's currently using y(our) software should " Just quit poker immediately "

I would also consider a 10% stake in your Flopzilla empire.

How much is Flopzilla if you have a license of Stoxev?

Are there "bundles"? Like Stoxev+Flopzilla for $XXX?
