Hi, can i know how a range hits an undefined turn and river?
Using Flopzilla, CREV or another software?

One of the first that come to mind may be HoldEq (which belongs to Flopzilla). It shows you a graph where every turn card for a given flop (or every river for a 4-card board) is displayed, from best for each player to worst for each player.

You might use a CREV script as well, which is more complicated, and there are other possible softwares too.

Thanks sir.
I need to know the impact on any 4 cards (and any 5 cards). Without a predefined flop. (without a predefined turn).

CardRunnersEV's Monte Carlo engine can do this.
See below for a savefile (import with Ctrl+I).

Press F7 to compute. The monte carlo engine will perform 100k random runs through the tree (press Ctrl+F5 to edit the number or runs). After, mouse over SB's decision node to get a popup with how his range is made up:

You can also enter specific conditions that you'd like to check for with the postflop editor. I've added some conditions as an example. Just double-click any of the conditions to bring up the editor so you can enter your own conditions.

PS:
On the river, stats like "flushdraw", "gutshot" and other draws mean that you had that draw on the turn, but they missed.

PPS:
In the example file, BB's range is "all hands". Should you enter another range for BB, then please be aware that this range will influence SB's range due to card removal. There is no card removal if BB's range is "all hands".

Re: Flopzilla

hey all is there a way to toggle on and off the EV of just 1 street?

what I mean is lets say I build a tree to river but I only want to see the EV of a flop raise OTF not taking into account of turn river. so just the EV of the flop raise.

Do I just have to use to end tree arrow thing otf? or is there a hot key?

For this you should set the turn/river as unknown. Should any lines reach the turn, then I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to just check them down with a checkdown action. There is no hotkey or toggle for this though, so you should probably just save your tree and then make the necessary adjustments in a separate file.

Re: Flopzilla

Hi, I'm a CREV and Flopzilla owner and I love both of them, also the HoldEq.

I have a few questions regarding Flopzilla and HoldEq.

I'm concerned about the hand rankings, how are they defined? specially the No Limit one, also I know it is possible to determine my own hand rankings on CREV, is there a way I can also do it in flopzilla? and why the HoldEq does not have the PokerStove hand rankings but has LHE instead, is there a relation between PokerStove hand rankings and LHE hand rankings?

tx in advance!

Re: Flopzilla

Sorry if this should be abundantly obvious, but what is the criteria for the default hand ranking (the "No Limit" option)? I see that you have Pokerstove, HU All-In, Sklanky, etc., options, but I'm not sure what model that first one is using. Looked in the online manual (http://www.flopzilla.com/written.html) but it didn't go into details. Thanks.

I constructed the NL ranking a few years ago, given that all of the rankings at the time were focussed on LHE play.

There is no dedicated editor, however your rankings are stored in the sub-directory /ranges. There, they are stored in the files HUai.txt, limit.txt, nolimit.txt, skl_chub.txt and skl_mal.txt. If you open one of those files you'll see that the format is:

line 1: 12345
line 2: The ranking itself.

You can simply copy-paste such rankings from the file preflopranges.txt in CardRunnersEV's installation directory. So basically you can use the CardRunnersEV editor and then copy it to Flopzilla.

To edit the list of rankings you can edit the file README.txt in Flopzilla's /ranges subdirectory. The format is:

12345
Number of rankings
Name of ranking + file of ranking

It's the same ranking.
I believe that I chose not to call it "PokerStove" because the name didn't fit in the available space.
For future releases I suppose I could use an abbreviation though.

Ah, so this default range is just your own little ranking. I'm assuming this answers my previous question too, no?

Re: Flopzilla

Great program. Been using it for years. A couple of minor suggestions:

1. Widen the space that shows the labels of ranges. Sometimes descriptions are large and it's nice to see a bit more of the label.

2. Have the program remember what size we made it last use. Saves a bit of time.

Thanks.

Re: Flopzilla

Hi,
Simple flopzilla question (awesome program btw). Can I configure what hands are kept in by the filters? ie currently they will retain top pair or better combos in the range, but against some opponents it would be good if there was an option to allow more liberal floating hands e.g over-cards/second pair/backdoors etc

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious already there

Not at this moment, but I expect to add that for the next release.

Re: Flopzilla

Hi Scylla, I just downloaded the new CREV beta with the equilibrium tool, I have a question, I understand I can use the equilibrium tool locking some ranges and if I calculate again I get a new equilibrium with the restrictions, this is a pretty cool feature but can it be used post flop? or the range locking for some decision points will only work for preflop?

tx in advance!

Hi,

This will be added postflop at a later point.
