This is kind of the point I was getting at. It would be great if we could use pre-existing solved ranges from piosolver or monkersolver directly with Flopzilla for the reasons you've stated. Instead it seems like we are being forced to use GTO+ which I don't believe can solve for multiway spots. I much prefer the simplicity of Flopzilla for indepth range/equity analysis so it's what I would prefer to use in combination with the heavier solvers.

Piosolver is also the most popular commercial solver out right now, and Monkersolver is starting to pick up a lot of traction thanks to its ability to solve multiway. I don't think this fact is going to change any time soon. The team at Equilab must have also realised this pretty early on as they made their software (which is frequently compared to Flopzilla) fully support the solver ranges.

The best option right now for anyone who wants to make practical use of solver ranges is to use Equilab-power as it's compatible with everything. I can instantly copy a range from Pio or Monkersolver, paste it into equilab, and do "Flopzilla" type work. It really feels like Flopzilla has been left behind in the dust in this regard.

All the software I've mentioned above also fully support Flopzilla ranges, but Flopzilla doesn't support any of their ranges which feels like a massive limitation. The ability to work with ranges from other software is heavily restricted and seems to be a one-way thing, which is very unfortunate as Flopzilla is primarily a "range" analysis tool and a very good one at that.

So the variation of Flopzilla that you're asking for already exists, just in a different tool and specialized for that particular purpose
I am not asking for a new variation of Flopzilla at all, just the ability to recognize ranges (text strings) from other solvers so we can work with them in Flopzilla.

I honestly believe this is a massive limitation with the software right now and really hope you'll consider implementing the functionality.

Thanks

The main point that I'm trying to make here is that GTO+ already basically offers an internal version of Flopzilla, as well as many other analysis features. As I've stated before, we are again doing work on Flopzilla in 2018, and I'm happy to take your request into consideration. However, it seems to me that it's perhaps a better idea to use GTO+ for this. In this case we could offer Flopzilla users a token so that they unlock a "range analysis" mode in GTO+. This would only require some minor customization, and it would offer a more targeted service for users who are interested in looking at GTO ranges. It feels like a very specific feature that's better placed in a program that's specifically written for it.

Re: Flopzilla

Pertaining to the cards to the right of the hotness section, is it possible to have the number of cards/outs, stated in parentheses right next to the equity % on each line of cards shown?

Ok, I will see if I can fit that in for the next update.

Thank you for your request,

Can you try running as admin? Not running as admin can cause all sorts of issues. Normally speaking, if you're running through Flopzilla.exe the software should already run as admin. However, particularly if you choose to run Flopzilla_C.exe directly, then you may run into these sorts of issues.

Should the issue persist after this, can you please try copying the files to a directory like C:/tmp and try running from there? If there's any issues with your permissions, then this should get you around that.

Ok, that's strange. This is not really an issue that I hear about frequently, so I'm trying to recall anything that may be causing it. First of all, can you set an exception in your virus scanner, just in case it's interfering with the software? Other than that, I do assume that you are actually the owner of the computer that you are working on? And you are running the latest version of Flopzilla (v185)? Can you please go to Flopzilla's directory and check if files are being added under /undo_predef whenever you make a change? And is the file newdefs2.txt changed in the main directory (the one with Flopzilla.exe in it) when you make a change (the column "Date modified" should update upon every change)?

Just updated to beta v185 - no change

Yes owner of computer and flopzilla which has worked for years on this laptop

One change shows in undo_predef newsdefs18 - but I have tried many changes and non show up in software

the newdef2 file in main directory was last modified on 6/10/17

any chance we can do a skype call and have you work some magic with screen share?

thanks

Ok, and have you set an exception in your virus scanner? Because that's the only thing that I can think of at the moment. Can you perhaps try uninstalling and reinstalling to a different directory? This will ensure a fresh reinstall and often fixes weird issues. Other than that I suppose I would need to create a custom version for you to see what the issue is here. I don't think I can do much over Skype. If the file is not being saved, then a custom version is needed to check what actually happens in the code.

Ok, it sounds like there was somehow a corrupted file or folder of some kind.
I can't immediately think of what it could have been, but I'm glad the issue is resolved.

Can you please try upgrading to the latest version? It can be downloaded here: http://www.cardrunnersev.com/download.html. Also, please set an exception in your virus scanner and check if your computer's date is set correctly. If the issue persists after that, then please contact support.

No, Windows 7 should work fine. And I assume you have set an exception in your virus scanner and checked if your computer's date is set correctly? If that does not resolve your issue, could you please try either upgrading to v185 or downgrading to v184? Please install to a different directory. Installing to a different directory will ensure a fresh reinstall, just in case somehow a file got corrupted.

I've tried DL both the latest and the beta.

The installer don't even start, a dos window opens and almost insta closes, then nothing.

Ok, let's try something else.
Here is a link to a .zip version of Flopzilla (v185): www.crevfiles.com/flopzilla/Flopzillav185.zip
And here is version v184: www.crevfiles.com/flopzilla/Flopzillav1841.zip
Does either one of those work for you?

Ok, thank you for letting me know. One thing to consider though is that with both Flopzilla and the installer not working, the problem may actually be with the installation of Windows itself. There's no reason for either program not to work.

Re: Flopzilla

Is there somewhere I can download predefined ranges for preflop common raising/calling spots for Flopzilla?

Also, is it possible to input two ranges and a board and show results?

Many thanks.

We don't offer predef ranges, given that these are very subjective. Ranges that work for one person don't work for another. We do offer several custom rankings though, which can be selected with the dropdown in the upper left of the starting hand matrix.

As for range versus range, for this we offer HoldEq, which is a piece of software that can connect to multiple windows of Flopzilla. When connected to two windows HoldEq will show the equities and rankings of all the starting hands in output modes such as an equity graph, equity matrix and hotness.

HoldEq can be started from Flopzilla by going to "HoldEq->Start HoldEq" in its menu. For more on how to use HoldEq with Flopzilla, please watch the video here: http://www.flopzilla.com/holdeq.html

Re: Flopzilla

It would be nice if you could add full functionality for 3+ ranges to HoldEQ and it's integration with Flopzilla. This is basically the main reason people buy Power Equilab and a major selling point, especially for those who play full ring and live. I play 6max online right now and there are still a lot of spots where I'd like to look at the equity matrix, etc for 3 or 4 ranges in a multiway pot.
