Hi - new to Flopzilla software, was recommended to me buy a tutor to download it.

Is there a way on Flopzilla to see the %s of hands vs each other... I.e. AKo vs QQ

Thanks

Do you mean the equities?
There's a separate tool for that, that's currently in beta.
You can download it here: http://www.flopzilla.com/holdeq.html

The tool is called "Holdeq" and will be free with Flopzilla.

Hey, I just purchased this yesterday, I read the tutorial but couldn't figure out an answer to this even though I'm sure it's something obvious.

So let's say I want to analyze a hand where my own holding is irrelevant. I raise and my opponent calls and I give him some wide range x. Onto the flop it goes and it comes T85 with a flush draw. I put the flop into flopzilla and it now shows how often he has a flush draw, pair, yadda yadda (this is really nice). HOWEVER. Now let's say he calls my bet. In the range I gave him pre I have for example all combos of A9s, but I want to only give him the one combo that now has a flush draw for the range I give him on the turn. How do I do this?

On offsuited flops it's so easy to just tick off cards that aren't in his calling range anymore, insert a turn and go from there, but it seems super hard for some reason to make it understand a flush draw heavy range like that. Can I somehow just type this into the popup that comes when I click "range"? I tried "As9s" but it didn't understand it. I also tried the weird preflop suit selection box but I have no idea how to use it?

So to clarify, let's say I gave him this (joke of a) range preflop:

and now it tells me all the cool stuff about what his range has on this particular flop we got (Q65fd).

Now in the hand I cbet and he called, and the turn came a 2h:

How do I get it to understand that the amount of flush draws is actually much higher, because he folded all the other combos but the club combos on the flop?

Overall this seems like a really cool program so thanks for that.

To filter hands postflop, you can use the postflop filters.
As you may notice, in the "Statistics" section some hands have a blue filter symbol in front of them.
That means that you want to filter for thóse hands.

To activate the filters, turn on the 'F' button at the bottom of the "Statistics" section.
Now, only hands with a filter symbol in front of them will pass through.

It's also possible to filter for individual hands.

For a more detailed explanation of the filters, please go here: http://www.flopzilla.com/video.html
Watch the video "Video 2: The filter system".

I have crEV and use it regularly. I was wondering if Flopzilla has any functionality that crEV doesn't have. Is it useful to own both applications or does crEV just cover everything Flopzilla can do plus more?

Flopzilla is aimed at range analysis, or in other words, how a given ranges hits a flop/turn/river in terms of top pair, flushdraw, set, etc.

Although CardRunnersEV does indeed have all the functionality that Flopzilla has, Flopzilla's interface is 100% geared towards making range analysis as easy as possible. CardRunnersEV on the other hand is more open-ended. You can get the range info here as well, but it will take more effort.

Of course, to get the best impression of Flopzilla, you can just download its trial here: http://www.flopzilla.com/download.html

Also, for what it's worth, you may want to check out Holdeq, which is a new equity tool. Its beta can be downloaded here: http://www.flopzilla.com/holdeq.html. Holdeq will be free with Flopzilla.

They're not shown because there's just not enough room in the statistics list. I can think of a workaround though and I'll add it for the next release.

Thank you for the feedback!

a) There's a description on the website that answers your first question
b) Whether X is better than Y is subjective. Personally, I prefer Holdeq and I think a lot of other people will do too. If you prefer something else, then just use that. It's not mandatory.

PS:
Let's be honest here.
You've barely even looked at it have you?
You just thought it would be easier to post here.

^^^ No. I have both crev and flopzilla (happy with both) and quite dissapointed after tryed holdeq. That's why I asking. I dont see any advantage of this program. Maybe only "Handling weight" but it is not used oftern, and I can manipulate equilab (or other stove) to do similar task..... so hence my question.

apologize if i was too rude. i might be hoping something special (like crev and flopzilla) and and dissapointed after download holdeq.
sorry for my bad english

Ok, well, the purpose of Holdeq is to have an equity calculator that can connect to Flopzilla. I haven't dealt with the connect part yet though. Other than that, I've simply built an equity calculator as I feel an equity calculator should work, with a clean+basic interface and easy weight+suit selection, as well as a simple method for setting the hand ranking method. Most people seem to like where it's going; at least I do. That being said: Don't like it? -> Don't use it. No pressure.

Hi Scylla - I just downloaded your new HoldEQ (I own Flopzilla), and while it started a couple of times, I now get the error message that says: "The trial period of this software has been manipulated. This software will no longer run." What's up with that?

I'm afraid I won't be able to help you out there. Once the protection software thinks it has seen a manipulation of the trial (which can happen by changing your computer's date or editing your registry) it can't be undone. Sorry about that.

Scylla, thanks for listening us about the colored results!

One more observation about Holdeq...

I tryed running a multiway equity, and it took some time to get done... I am ok with that, because pokerstove also takes time with multiway calcs.

But at same time I did the same calc with Equilab ... and it was ready in seconds!

I am not requesting anything... just doing a comment, did you notice that? do you know what happens in these case?

the hand was:

1 - TcJc (38%)
2 - QhQs (32%)
3 - 5d6d (28%)

Flop - 5c4d7c

(which is an interesting hand... the best one made hand (QQ) is not the favorite on this flop.)

This is because I haven't gotten to enumerating multiway spots yet. For now I just use Monte Carlo.

Hi Scylla,

not sure if this was already commented: is there any way we can input a range (as text input) with specific hands? Like AhTc, AhTs... or some percentage of the hands ATs (50% of the times) both in Flopzilla or CREV.

Thanks!

CardRunnersEV treats hands like they work in real life. As a consequence, you can not distinguish between suits until the flop is known. Therefore, importing a string with suits is not allowed in its preflop menu.

It ís possible to import such a string in the preflop menu if the hand starts postflop though, since in thát case it does make practical sense.

For Flopzilla, again, hands are treated like they are in real life. The preflop phase is not the point where a distinction should be made between different suits. Therefore you can't import strings with suit information. It would (often) not be possible to display that range in the preflop matrix anyway, even with the suit boxes.

Is it possible to plug in mixed strategies into flopzilla? I'm working on my HU 3betting range, but there is a hand I only want to 3bet 50% of the time.

Yes, for that just use the weight buttons in the upper right of the starting hand matrix. I'm pretty sure I show how to do that in the first instructional video here: http://www.flopzilla.com/video.html

How is the 'No Limit' ranking hands differently than the 'PokerStove' hand rankings?

If everything is working as it should, they are completely different rankings.
Do you mean they are the same on your system?

CardRunnersEV and Flopzilla are separate programs, so no.

Hi Scylla, I have tried to contact you multiple times on various e-mail addresses in January (I have sent them to all three addresses you provide on your www) but have not received any reply.
You might use the phrase 'orchowski' as the term to search, otherwise let me know and I'll resend the email somewhere else. I can't PM [new account].
