I've managed to substantially reduce the number of false positives, but indeed Nod32 seems to still have a problem with it. I'm afraid there's not much more I can do.

why am i getting a message saying my trial has expired ? As far as i know flopzilla is still freeware.

yup same problem here
release a new version please scylla!

oh whilst posting, i'll get in one more feature request: it would be supergroovy to have a "set range to checked items" - that is, all the hands that fall under the hand values types with checkmarks, by pressing this button, would now become the preflop range.

This would be really useful for looking at how a given range on the flop changes with certain turn and river cards.

Looking into it.
It works on my end but I'm getting a bunch of reports of this problem.
Something has gone terribly wrong ...
Well ... not terribly.

In general, why would you add weight to hand. Can you explain a bit about the concept of adding weight to a hand? Thanks!

For instance if you feel that someone has the top 10% of range, but AA-KK should be discounted because he'd probably play them in some other manner some percentage of the time.

example: if you select a range KK+, AK the default behavior (which probably falls out of how the model works) is that each particular hand is weighted based on the number of combinations for this hand. E.g. KK+ has 12 permutations and AK has 16 so AK comes up 16/28 of the time and KK+ comes up 12/28.

Perhaps you think villains range is KK+, AK and he folds AQ 2/3 of the time can plays it as the other hands in the range 1/3 of the time. You need weighting to model the AQ part of villain's range.

Nice, very useful.
Thanks scylla.

It would be great if you also had two boxes where you could enter the range percentage right away, in addition to the slider. A "from" box and a "to" box. Both with default value "0".

Is it possible to specify a specific suit in the Flopzilla range?

Flopzilla deals with how ranges hit flops. Since the value of the suit is not important preflop, including suits would serve no purpose and only clutter the interface.

When I click on this button and stats are shown, are these stats only for the flop (no turn)? That is what I would expect but I thought I'd double check. You might add something to the UI to make this more explicit since flopzilla will show stats for turn cards on manually configured boards.

Also, it might be nice to be able to select that turn and even river streets be included. This may be straying a bit from the original intent of flopzilla...

The goal of Flopzilla is to show how certain flops hit certain ranges.
My intent is to do this with:
- very very fast, not even a compute button is necessary
- a relatively simple to understand and use interface
- as little buttons as possible
- no submenus

Adding all kinds of options for additional turn and river play would unfortunately interfere with this purpose. Every new option means (a) new button(s), making the program a little harder to use every time I add something. Focussing the program on turn and river has also got consirably less value than the value of knowing how ranges hit flops, since the flop play gets in the way.

With the exception of fixing possible bugs or some out-of-the-box suggestion for strongly improving the program, it is not my intent to develop the program any further since the increase of content would decreas the four more important goals above.

Makes good sense.

When the encryption software detects manipulation of the dates, it won't run anymore. The next version will be released in two weeks. You'll have to wait for that.

Ouch! Can't your anti-pirating thingie have a backup plan of checking an internet time server via SSL? This might provide a recovery mechanism for an honest mistake.

If you buy the anti-piracy stuff then perhaps you could pass the suggestion on to the appropriate vendor.

Presumably this date checking for the still free (?) flopzilla is to keep people upgrading and to allow you to go commercial at a future date, if you desire?

EDIT: PokerCruncher for the iPhone is suppose to have some flopzilla like features. I have PokerCruncher but haven't used any thing but its basic pokerStove functionality so far ...

It's possible to get around it, but I would have to have turned on that option when I encrypted the files.
And ... I forgot.
