Drivehud has been working fantastic until the latest update. It's telling me to re-enter the serial number, do a trial or buy the product. It's been working fine for the past month up until today. Nothing changed on my end. Bought the year license. Also tried re-activating my license and recovering it through the website and e-mail but nothing is working. E-mail on file is ericmt87@gmail.com

It's your database. It's completely messed up. I think somehow going between both versions of SQL, it's messed up the writing, and if you look at your log you'll see for yourself. It's having trouble reading data, and probably taking forever to respond as a consequence. We need to investigate how you got to this spot though so we can fix it and avoid it in the future.
Ok great. To the best of my memory I purchased my key, signed in for first time and installed a version of PostgreSQL. Again later than night during second session it asked to install PostgreSQL again so I accepted, assuming it would merely overwrite.

Glad to know what's to blame at this point! I'm off to read about this database management stuff.

When I open my drive hud program, it gets stuck on the initial loading screen (task manager calls it SplashWindow). This has happened once or twice before and restarting the computer has fixed it. I've already restarted about 5 times and it's still stuck. I thought about uninstalling/reinstalling it, but I don't want to risk losing all my data. I already tried reinstalling the latest update without deleting anything first and that didn't fix it. Any ideas?

Yeah sorry, we sent out an email a couple of weeks ago about this. You need an updated serial. Just send an email to support and they will send you one out.

E-mail support and they can walk you through what to do. Yeah, I think we're going to change the process if you have an existing database and not allow new installations. We'd like people to be on 9.5, but I think it's better at this point to not confuse people about DB creation. It was a point of debate on release. I'd like to simplify the process a little more.

Probably your firewall is blocking it. It's checking for a license before it loads, and probably whatever you have loaded is blocking it for some reason now. IT doesn't check on every load. I'd temp disable your firewall, or add an exception for drivehud and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the quick BOL Update fix a week ago. Here are some more stats I'd like to see available:
  • Button defend to CO raise
  • Check/fold flop when PFR OOP
  • Check/fold flop when 3-betting OOP
  • Bet/fold flop when PFR raiser
  • Bets flop when checked to after calling a 3-bet in position
  • Raise CBet (I know there is a raise flop stat, but I'm not sure if it's the same)
  • PFR from all positions in 6max (I know this is available by hovering over PFR, but I'd would like this option as well)

There's a new opponent analysis and player population tendency report that didn't quite make it in. Needs more testing still. I thought it would make it in, but next build.

I'll do another post here when I have more time to go over some of the new features. Some cool new stuff.

Just updated and the splash screen is locking up. Tried rebooting, and running as admin, no changes.

Mmm... I probably should have said this. How long did you wait because it's doing some migration on first load w/ this update. Try and re-install and give it a couple of minutes the first time.

The update did work when reinstalled and allowed time for migration, thank you. I am unsure if this update is the one support eluded to regarding a work-around for database corruption?


This update did not improve stability for me at all and the HUD is still not usable, nor can I watch hand replays. The additional filtered stats below gauges are great though! Its the most reliable means of finding my leaks with the software so far.

No, but I think you might be a little confused. 1) With your specific issue, something is going on with everything in your database, and how it's writing. Something was not initially configured correctly, and that subsequently caused the issue. It was writing back and forth between several DB installs you had. And that's why 2) You can't replay hands. Your hand data is posting from one of the other databases, and you're able to see it in your new DB, but not access it.

I honestly think you should wipe everything and start over. What I was referring to in terms of a build to address your issue is that we're currently a hybrid DB system, and we're dropping postgresql in what will be the next build. I think it's pretty clear why other DB system are moving away from it. It's too confusing for most users, you get one bad install or multiple installs and it can create issues. So we have everything in place, we're just still testing performance related things. Migration to it will be seamless though. You won't even know it's happened.

Anyone reporting issues with BCP support? I imported my txt file archives and ended up with far fewer (~70k vs 90k) hands than HM2/3 and PT4, then setup auto import folder for BCP and tried a PLO + NLH session and got no hud or auto import.

Ok. I uninstalled DriveHUD and player data. Now when I reinstall it says "current database is 9.3.9 and DriveHUD uses 9.5.3. Do you want to proceed with this database?" I am unclear if 'proceeding' means staying with 9.3.9 or using 9.5.3. Pressing cancel just halts installation.

Now if I go into pgadmin and delete/drop the old server entries they just reappear upon next pgadmin launch.

Whats best course of action?

Can you send your logs to support please? So your auto import folder it setup ok, and no HUD correct?

Proceed means continue with your current database. Go ahead and select that option and install.

I tried the auto detect first but it added 2 folders: one folder for program files that my BCP is not installed in and the other one that was a couple folders higher than I set it with HM2/3 (I was worried it might archive files it shouldn't, but that shouldn't be an issue for me as I disabled that feature to let HM3 do the archiving) so I added my own folder manually like I do in all my other trackers. Downloaded DriveHUD for 30-day trial. Opened the program, clicked "Trial" asked for my email and "text on picture" <--- one of those security features. when I input everything and click "ok" it simply revises the security feature with no error code or anything else. I've continued to input the security text knowing that it's correct, I've even tried multiple email addresses. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, thanks. I'm having them check the BCP import process. There must be some specific kind of hand it's missing.

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't hard of this before. I think it's most likely a virus scanner issue. Maybe try and temp disable your virus / firewall. Try that and let me know please. I can have someone help you online if you're still stuck.

The latest beta I posted should address your issues. It was an encoding issue we just switched to in this last build that seemed to cause an issue on some systems. Also the importing was not getting your hands because of duplicate hand number limitations we had. That should be resolved now.

I was able to get the HUD up earlier today after nuking my config files as instructed via email. I have not tested the new build yet but will let you know if I have any issues.

Is the volume of minor frustrations from this company really the industry norm?

Support is always like, it's just a simple thing to fix X, but something needs solving every step of the way, even months after buying their programs.

Things get resolved, but APS seems inured to how routinely it inconveniences people.
