Sorry for the inconvenience, it appears to be a one time issue.
I'm just glad its not my computer. Is there somewhere I can read about the difference between Cardrunners EV and Flopzilla?

Flopzilla is pretty straightforward.
It shows you how a certain range hits a given flop.

CardRunnersEV is a far more complex piece of software that allows you to input a decision tree, after which it performs EV calculations on that tree for every decision point as well as for every action and condition and even the EV performance of all individual holecards.

Try again in a couple of hours, everything should be back up and running again.

Thanks Scylla - good to see these programs didn't die with Stoxpoker.

Scylla -

With CardrunnersEV if I give myself a hand of AT for example will the program automatically re-weight my opponent's hand range (lets say Ax) given I have a blocker?

Well, I recreated my model with 2 players instead of 3. Then when I tried to copy the action from the turn on using Ctrl+Alt+C in order to paste it in for another turn card, the software crashed. Actually the first time I tried it, it didn't crash, but it crashed when I tried to paste using Ctrl+Alt+V. Now it just crashes when I try to copy in the first place. My model is somewhat complex from the turn on. Is there anything different I can do?

Yes it will.

Could you send the savefile please?
Maybe there's something I can do.

Hie Scylla

On the payment options I notice that you do not have a pokerstars account. Would it be possible for me to transfer the money to you there?

Cheers.

Hi,

Unfortunately pokerstars no longer allows p2p transfers for non-gaming purposes.

Cheers,

Scylla

Hey I think I'm missing something stupid here. Why the disconnect between these two numbers circled in red?

I'll provide more details if you need to know my tree or anything.

Strategy EV is the EV of your entire strategy prior to posting your blinds. The other strategy is after posting the blinds. So in this case your EV after posting the blinds is $0.48, however it has cost you $1 to get to that point, so essentially you're strategy loses $0.52.

Please observe however that strategy EV only applies if you're defining the strategy for the sb and bb's entire range, not just a part of their range such is the case here.

Are there any strategy videos at CardRunners that make extensive use of CardRunners EV? I am particularly interested in heads-up, and possibly even some examples of defining the entire ranges heads-up as you mentioned in your post above. 6max videos with the software would be good too.

Not to my knowledge, as it would inevitably be a technical instructional video on how to use the software instead of focussing on the actual strategy.

Well, I think it would be great if one or two coaches would make a strategy video series with this software.

If there are advanced parts of the program that are used, then some technical instruction would need to be added. But don't you think it is possible to use this software to help explain the strategy of Hero's entire range? I was thinking that it could start off with two "decent" players, and then a new tree could be made where Hero is the big blind and the button is given certain characteristics that can be exploited, and then a third tree could be made where Hero is the button and the big blind is given certain characteristics that can be exploited.

Maybe some technical videos are needed first?

It would be great but unfortunately I just don't have the time.
Fwiw, the software is frequently used by all sorts of authors to do the math behind their work, they just don't focus too much on the software in doing so since their point would get lost in technical details.

Do you know if any of those authors would be willing to, or are planning to, write a companion manual to go along with their books, showing how the software was used? Or could you find out? I would really like to see some examples where people found solutions to specific poker situations by using this software.

I still have not completed the written tutorial that you wrote, and I know that there will be some more good examples in there. But I think that since what you wrote is a technical manual, you probably could go only so far into the art and science of solving poker problems.

Whether or not to make such a video would be up to such an author and not myself. Since the software and the math behind it is relatively complex it would only appeal to a niche audience, which would make me believe that the chance of someone doing this for commercial purposes is rather small.

scylla,

I'm unclear from the docs if the auto-maximally-exploitive counter strategy can be used on more than one street. Assuming I wanted to specify villain's strategy on all turn/river cards, could it solve a game from the flop?

Hi Gaming_Mouse,

The auto-maximally-exploititive strategy only works on the last street where the boardcard is given by the user. The strategies entered by the user at the other streets are considered as given.

On an unrelated subject, as you may notice I am currently not logged in under my usual name. The ban is at my own request. I am currently unable to access both stoxpoker_ev@hotmail.com and my 2p2 account so felt some prudence was in order. I have placed a message on the website www.cardrunners-ev-calculator.com requesting people not to contact the old e-mail adres anymore, and if sollicited by it, ignore it.
I have also released updates of both CREV and Flopzilla stating such a message at startup.
I'm working hard on getting this matter resolved and greatly appreciate everyone's patience.
For support, from now on, please mail support@cardrunners-ev-calculator.com.

Sincerely,

Scylla

Scylla,
I emailed you at support@cardrunners-ev-calculator.com and asked what I should do because I had to install a new hard drive. I got what appeared to be your response to my email, but it was from an email that was NOT support@cardrunners-ev-calculator.com. It instructed me to send you the new hardware ID. I then replied with my new hardware ID to that email address. Was that email from you, or did I send my hardware ID to someone else? I will send you a PM here through the Two Plus Two system to tell you the email address with which I corresponded.

Unfortunately I don't have PM priviliges yet on this temp account so I can't read any PM's (are you reading this _dave_? please help me out) but it sounds like I simply replied to your mail.
The e-mail adres involved should be CR************@hotmail.com or rm*****@zonnet.**.
If not then please e-mail support@cardrunners-ev-calculator.com and I'll respond again to this thread.

I'm so sorry for all the inconvenience, I hope all this will be resolved soon.

Yes, rm*****@zonnet.**, right?

Oh darn, I see. I made a typo in my response and said rm****@hotmail.com.
Sorry about that.

Yes, that is it. Well, if rm*****@zonnet.** is the Scylla we all know, then I guess everything is okay.
